Pump – the pump automatically turns off after drawing water up to the receptacle. It will turn on after a period of time to repeat the process. The pump does not run continuously 24 hours a day. It will turn on and off after set periods of time and repeat

Gravity Hole – if you live in an area where you have “hard” water, the hole that allows water to come out of the receptacle may become clogged with minerals. Use a paperclip or safety pin to unclog the water deposit

Batteries – if new, good quality batteries are used, the battery life should last roughly 3-4 months

Water Level –ONLY fill the fountain BOWL with fresh water (do not fill the receptacle). It’s important that fresh water be added frequently to keep the water level from getting too low and potentially burning out the pump.

Answer:	It all depends on how many cats you have and how much water they drink. For example I have two juvenile cats. When they used to drink out of this it took them, I'll say, a day and a 1/2 or 2 if it's not that hot. But you should change the water daily bc it gets nasty looking.

Answer:	It's also heavy enough full of water that a cat such as that one won't be able to move it. It also comes with a small pad as pictured that has very good friction. I have a cat that's either a Savannah or from a Lynx line. I think I've seen it called a Desert Lynx. Either way, he's large, strong, very curious, and obsessed at time with moving the water fountain whether playing or ticked he isn't getting more food. I've had not problems with this fountain and doing that. Also, it's tall enough that he drinks from it comfortably. He's a tall cat and like the even tall fountain on my other one so I'm glad this worked out.

Question:	Do you have to disassemble this to refill it or do you pour water into the top and it drains into the reservoir
Answer:	I tend to add water at the top as my dog drinks out of it also and depletes the water supply. However I do take it apart and clean it every week which is very easy and then I fill it up at that time. It only takes a few minutes to take it apart , clean it, fill it and put it back together. Really easy. I'm 77 so if this old lady can do it, you can too.

Answer:	As an update, filters are back in stock on Amazon now. If that's helpful.
Question:	I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong but I cannot get this fountain to stop overflowing all over my floor. Can someone please advise
Answer:	I figured out how to fix this last night. The filter should be placed round side up. And make sure you remove the grey rubber piece that’s on the pump, which makes the pump more powerful. With this technique, you can run it on motion sensor without it overflowing. Continuous flow looks iffy, as it got too close to the edge for comfort after running it continuously for around 30 minutes. I put it on motion sensor, and then placed the fountain inside a rectangular organization bin just In case it overflows. I put the fountain close to the edge of the bin so kitty can get at it easily and all is good. Now..the electrical connection IS on the bottom so if it overflows, there’s risk. I’ll be placing the fountain on little blocks to protect it Incase it overflows, but after a day, it does look like all is ok on the motion sensor mode only. Prior to this, it overflowed even when just on motion sensor, any time the filter was installed. I’ve also contemplated putting an oblong hole in the drinking plate on each side to drain extra water so at least some of the water can be filtered.

Answer:	I just pour in to refill until it is time to clean it again. I try to do that weekly or every other week depending on how on top of things I am. Just don't pour too fast or it will overflow and spill.

Answer:	about 3 quarts or 96 ounces if filled to the rim. 100 oz will not fit
Question:	Does it splash water outside of the bowl and does it make noise
Answer:	We love this water bowl as well as all three of our cats. Never had water splash out. We do keep a towel under it just in case. The only time it makes noise is when it needs more water. Air siphoning. Let's us know they are using it. There is a variable motor on the pump to also control pressure and noise.

Question:	I just got this and immediately it is very loud. Clean, filter is new and clean, water to the top, any ideas
Answer:	I have another Drinkwell model and when it is noisy as described, it means that the lever on the filter is not set low enough (should be around 2:00 setting — keep inching it towards 3:00 until the noise stops, but never should be as low as the full 3:00 position) OR there’s not enough water in the bowl for the filter engine to run smoothly. But the filter is being ruined if you’re getting that loud noise, so you need to fix one or both of the two things above or turn it off. Operation should be quiet!

Take the Pump Apart

Remove the blue faceplate by using your finger to pull on the small tab on the side.

Remove the Stator

Remove the blue teardrop shaped stator by pulling up on the small lip.

Remove the Impeller

Use a fingernail to pull out the impeller, which is held in place magnetically. Clean the pump parts with warm water and soap, then reassemble.

Question:	how easy is it clean the pump
Answer:	Easy enough. A small pipe cleaner and a good rinse with soap and water does the trick. I find myself cleaning it every few days or so.
Question:	How long can it run on a power bank? I don't have an outlet where they like to drink
Answer:	It runs probably for 3-8 hours on a power bank. And it's recommended to use an outlet to supply power for it if long term use. :)
Question:	How do you remove the filter
Answer:	The filter is in the center of the device. Pull the flower out of the top. Grab the top with your hand and twist counter clockwise so that it unlocks from the bottom of the bowl. The foam filter is visible right before the blue pump. Pull it out and wash it. The charcoal filter is in white plastic in front of the foam filter and can also be removed and washed off to ensure the slots are clean. I believe these items are replaceable, the company probably sells supplies if you go to their website.
Question:	Where do I order replacement filters for this fountain
Answer:	As of August 2, 2020, the replacement filters are out of stock. Disappointing—I’ve had the fountain less than a month, and am quite please with it, but not having a means to filter the water makes it less desirable..

Answer:	I also just received one with a plastic bowl and the product description specifically said, "😻【Healthier stainless steel bowl】 based on customer feedback, we upgraded the bowl. It is healthier than plastic and has a fresher taste." I contacted seller and I'm hoping they will replace the bowl or I will return the product.

3 Layer filtration

Pump care is essential to the longevity of the fountain.

• Please clean your pump every 4-6 weeks following the instructions below:

Step 1: Remove the pump cover.

Step 2: Place your fingernail under the pointed end of the impeller cap and pull it off.

Step 3: Take out the impeller and clean all the parts with soap and warm water. (Especially surface of the black magnet and inside of the white part.)

• If your pump stops working it is almost certain that the turning of the impeller is stopped by debris trapped in the impeller well. In this case, simply use a toothpick or Q-tip to clean the inside.
• If the pump still can't work after cleaning, please try to poke the propeller back a few millimeters and it works again (Sometimes the white propeller piece that spins, seems to have wiggled itself too close to the wall, causing it to jam ).
• If you have tried all these ways and still have trouble in using, please let us know through your order details, we'll help you with that.

Answer:	I got a catit for Christmas and decided I needed a second fountain for another room and went with this one because it had good reviews and with the coupon I had it was less than $20. Well I'm returning it today. My cats kept on nocking the top off which ment water got everywhere and soaked my carpet. The top doesnt lock in place, it just sits in on top, kinda wobbly. Also the catit has a night light (so you don't knock it over in the middle of the night) this one does not. As for sound they sound almost the same. Also the catit fits any round filter, you font have to buy specific catit branded filters for it. I regret not spending the extra $7 for the name brand item
