Answer:	I don't do anything. My cat "paws" at it, just a little, then more food comes down. If I keep the bowl full by helping her she overeats.

Answer:	It's a very sturdy plastic material. I can put a full 10lb bag of food in it & it holds well. I do have to shake it when my cats eat the food in the bowl part bc it gets wedged in the hole but not to the point where the food won't come out. The bowl is a good 6" circumference so it's big enough for both my cats to eat at the same time. It's easy to take apart & clean too. Definitely a good buy if you feed your pet freely. I work crazy hours so it's nice I can fill it for a week or two without worrying abt them not eating. Hope this helps!

Answer:	Yes. A common 5 gallon water cooler jug sits on the bottom unit like it was made for it. I've always ordered the 4 gallon unit and switched out the container for a 5 gallon.

Answer:	Bottom blue part CAN handle dishwasher, but as with all plastics on bottom rack, be sure to turn off the drying heater to your dishwasher. Top water part, well, what's the point? The outside will get clean, but due to the low melting point, it would be better to wash by hand and get inside cleaner.

Answer:	I think there is 12. But be aware they don't ship well most of the time these cans comes crushed. Anywhere from two to all are dented. They need to improve on that. When they do I'll start ordering again

Question:	This is for an outdoor watering station for 12 cats;filter is unnecessary. can is be used w/out it is essential to a proper fit
Answer:	The 2017 model (I have both this one and the generation prior) has a lock on the lid to prevent animals from opening it. The unlock button is small, a bit smaller than the tip of one's finger. My vaguely clever cat has yet to open his feeder or knock it over. The food tray is removable and 'clicks' into the food storage portion, giving a nice base for the unit to stay balanced, even when bumped a bit hard (Some of us are clumsy!).

You can dislodge the door with a kitchen knife.

Answer:	There is no sensor, it dumps at whatever time you set it. My cat is greedy and has her own sensor as she hovers until it drops. You can set the timer for once a day if you feel you will have a lot left as well as you can control how much comes out. Hope it helps. Answer:	No, not unless you hit the On/Off switch underneath. If that happens, you only reset the time of day. All the feeding times and size are saved.

Question:	I'm assembling it now, should the bowl snap into the base? Mine doesn't have the look/fit that it's properly aligned & sits very loose in the base
Answer:	I have tried duct tape, gorilla tape, mounting tape, etc. My cats are too strong, I guess, and always managed to get the bowl out. Now I use a thin, oval headband (think giant rubberband) that goes all the way around the bowl and the feeder. I've used gorilla tape to keep it in place. Two weeks and so far the bowl has stayed attached, which is a record.
Question:	Does this have a counter so you know food is being dispensed
Answer:	I would say ants could def. get to it and proably other bugs too. My cats are able to get their paws up the chute and into a small opening to knock food out.
Question:	How can I attached the bowl more securely as it comes off too easily
Answer:	It's very sturdy for my 13lbs mini dachshund who likes to pull and flip the bowl once the food is gone. If you keep the container full, it holds good weight that makes the unit very sturdy.
Question:	Does it keep ants and cockroaches out of the food that is not dispensed yet
Answer:	It support batteries and plug in the wall charger, a 5V Power Adapter is included in the package, and you can also install batteries to prevent power cut. Hope this can help you.
