Question:	Anyone have any issues with their recording schedules disappearing? Mine wiped all my schedules
Answer:	Ok I don't have this model but I have another model by same company (HW-150pvr) and it is dumping schedules too. I've had two units over 4 years and it's happened in the past but happening a lot more now. I'm on Amazon to find a replacement because this is unacceptable. I'm thinking Mediasonic is to be avoided.

Answer:	I used a 500GB salvaged out of an old laptop that was totally dead. I ordered a cheap $7.99 ORICO USB3.0 to SATA III 2.5" External Hard Drive Enclosure from Amazon as well to mount it in. Worked perfectly. I've also used a cheap (free) 32GB USB thumb drive that I didn't have any problem with. Got that thumb drive free from a Microcenter computer store.

Question:	FOX in my area is channel 4 and even with converter box set on channel 3, I still get no reception on channel 4, is this usual
Answer:	I am not sure this is the answer however my local FOX is also channel 4. After scanning the local stations available none of them actually display on the box as the local channel number. As example I can enter the actual channel (Channel 4 ) on the remote and it will display as channel 1 on the box but will actually be the correct channel on the TV to watch. I just enter the actual number on the remote. Hope this helped.

Answer:	The iView 3300STB in TV converter box that record TV program only. Not security camera recorder.

Answer:	The iView 3300STB record TV show in .MP4 format which is same format on other converter box.

Answer:	Antenna required for local channels. This receiver seems to be latest generation. The auto detect found 48 channels, where the old receiver found only about 20. The user interface is also greatly improved. If your projector has HDMI input then you are good to go.

How It Works

The iView 3300STB works by acquiring digital channels coming from ATSC, Over-the-Air, or ClearQAM, unencrypted digital cable transmission. The HD content that comes out allows users to receive unscrambled digital cable signals with the use of a monthly cable provider.

From Analog to Digital

The iView Digital Converter box automatically converts the signal to be compatible with your analog unit. Analog TV owners won't need to get themselves a new TV if they don't want to.

The iView 3300STB has built-in QAM capabilities that allow you to watch unscrambled, unencrypted cable channels and supports Over-the-Air (OTA), which allows the user to receive some unencrypted digital cable channels, also known as "in-the-clear" channels.

Our iView 3300STB has a 3/4 channel switch you can toggle in the back to access analog channels in countries and areas where analog signals are still present. Broadcasting is still alive and well, even in your old TV.

ATSC and QAM Capabilities

OTA (Over-the-Air)

The iView Digital Box works great in ATSC, otherwise known as over-the-air or local channels. Once plugged in, the 3300STB gives you a wider range of channels you can view, with noticeably higher picture clarity. Just connect to your antenna line, scan for channels, and you're ready to go.

QAM Capability

The iView 3300STB comes with QAM, or Quadrature Amplitude Modulation, capability, a format that most cable companies use to transmit and encode their signals.

Our converter boxes are able to pick up ClearQAM channels with a monthly cable provider that offers unscrambled, unencrypted cable.

Watch local OTA channels, unscrambled digital programming and possibly some bonus channels (depending on your location). HD and SD channels become unlocked the moment you plug and successfully setup the iView 3300STB in.

Universal Media Player

The iView 3300STB can act as a universal media player to play videos and music.

To use the media player functions, it is required to connect a USB Flash Drive or External Hard Drive to the box. The drive needs to be no bigger than 4TB in size and formatted to Fat32 or NTFS.

If the storage device has any media already saved on it, those media files can be played on the Iview Box. Selecting “Pictures” will display a slide show of any pictures in JPG, BMP, or PNG format. Selecting “Music” will turn the device into a music player. This music player can play any music files in WMA, MP3, or AAC format. The final option, “Video” will allow playback of any videos in AVI, MKV, MPG, and MKV formats. During video playback, you can press the green SCHD button, on the remote, to cycle between preview and full-screen modes.

DVR Capabilities

Record digital content while you're away with the iView 3300STB.

Connect the box to a USB Flash Drive or External Hard Drive to start recording with DVR. Plug your external drive and record movies and shows to playback later straight to your device.

The DVR function can be done two ways: A recording can start and stop using the red REC and STOP buttons on the remote, respectively, allowing for impromptu recordings at any time. The device can also schedule recordings. From there, the channel, start time, and end time can be set and the box will automatically record and end at the scheduled times. This can also be set to record daily (every day, including weekends), weekly (once a week), or just once. However, the box’s recording functions are limited to one at a time and can only have no more than 30 scheduled recording jobs saved onto the box’s memory.

Question:	I have a smart tv with the antanna conection broken off the back. Can I use this for my (antenna in) and (hdmi out) to the tv
Answer:	This will output over HDMI, yes. My TV doesn't have a built in tuner, and therefore has no coaxial input. I output to the television over HDMI without issue.
Question:	does a hard drive have to be fat32. How do you do this with a hard drive
Answer:	Can not get it to recognize NTFS via USB. Have a 2019 firmware on the device (bought is 2019) and still will not recognize NTFS. Worse than that it will not recognize a FAT32 drive formatted. Can see a small FAT32 (less than 32GB) but that is it.
Question:	Does this box work with Comcast
Answer:	It "might" work on Comcast cable for Comcast's basic cable package, which is their first few analog channels. These are normally unscrambled/non-encrypted channels. You can test to see if you have that available on your Comcast cable, by plugging the coax cable directly into a TV (with a tuner) and see if you are getting any of the starting basic cable channels. Or call your cable provider and ask them if their very basic cable package offers unencrypted channels. When using this box on a cable system, you must change it to in the setup menu. This box will only pick up any non-encrypted, non-scrambled analog cable channels.
Question:	Can this do analog cable tv
Answer:	The ViewTV AT-300 --WILL-- handle non-scrambled, non-encrypted analog cable channels. That is, those basic cable channels that are on most cable systems that do not require a box from the cable company in order for your TV to receive these basic analog cable channels. The "box" that the cable company provides, are for those scrambled/encrypted cable channels that do require the cable box with a CableCard in order to receive these. The scrambled/encrypted cable channels are those of the upper tier packages that most cable providers offer, in addition to the hand full of basic (analog) cable channels. When using the AT-300 for basic, unscrambled, unencrypted analog channels, you must setup the unit for "CABLE" in the setup menu, rather then for "AIR" which is for OTA (over-the-air) broadcasts. However, this unit will not do BOTH OTA and CABLE at the same time though, (its either one or the other) but you can purchase a second unit for both your basic cable and your OTA, if you have multiple inputs on your TV (i.e. coax input and 1 or more HDMI inputs, or multiple HDMI inputs, etc.)

Question:	I'm curious how you set-up recordings on this device. Does it have its own program guide
Answer:	Electronic Program Guide data is transmitted OTA embedded in the ATSC signal- whereas it seems that most new TVs dont decode this data- this box does decode this data. You can click OK on a broadcast and it will "book" it for recording It uses this data to set the recording scheduleYou can also program recordings the old fashioned "manual" way, so look up you broadcast schedule on the internet and go in and program the channels and times you want it to record. It is not a grid style guide- the EPG shows you the upcoming broadcasts on the current channel. To see the guide for another channel- the box actually changes to that channel to show you that channels data.
Question:	Apologies if this has already been asked: can I watch one channel while recording another with this product? Could I watch "Scandal" on ch 4-1 while recording "Elementary" on ch. 7-1, for example? Otherwise, sounds like a good option for "cord-cutting" with my LCD HDTV
Answer:	Yes, you can watch one channel and record another as long as you connect this product to an HDTV and set the modulation mode under the channel search menu to Loop Through.Although, you cannot watch a PREVIOUSLY recorded show while recording another channel.
Question:	how much memory does it come with to record? and is the HD good like with cable
Answer:	It doesnt come with any onboard memory for recording. You have to supply the memory with a a USB drive. The HD quality is excellent as long as it receives a good signal.For the best results you will want a thumb drive that has fast write speeds for smooth & seamless recording qaulity.Also, you need roughly 6 to 8 gigabytes of storage space per hour of recording, it varies greatly depending on the quality.It is recommended that you use a at the least a 16 gigabyte thumb drive for your own convenience.
Question:	I'm looking for an external HDTV tuner to output live over-the-air TV to a projector. Would this device work for that scenario
Answer:	OK , this is also what I want to do.Do I have to connect it on a HDMI port on the projector or can I connect to the HDMI port on the receiver?

Question:	Why can't I record from my Satalite as long as I have it on channel 3 or
Answer:	This isn't a DVR like the ones Comcast, Dish, ATT, and Direct TV provide customers. It's a receiver that converts terrestrial-digital, over-the-air broadcasts. I would assume your "Satalite" is Direct TV or Dish. So they're already HD and they're coming from space, not earth. Different signals require different units. You can't use a Comcast DVR to pick up antenna reception.

Answer:	Yes, with device hooked between your antenna and your TV you can watch free over-the-air broadcast TV as long as you are within range of those broadcast signals. If you live in or near a major city you should have no problem even with an interior antenna. If you live more than 30 miles from the broadcast source you will need an exterior antenna. In either case you will get more channels and a better picture if you upgrade any existing antenna to a "digital" antenna. I made my own. Question:	Does this require an hd antenna
Answer:	There is No such thing as an HD antenna. TV signals are all transmitted over the air line-of-sight in VHF and UHF frequencies in the range of 49.75MHz - 855.25 Mhz with, for example, 49.75MHZ being channel 1 and 855.25MHZ being channel 69. These days, in digital i.e. 1s & 0s. This varies from location to location though. Here where I live there are No Tv stations on channels 1,2,3 and so forth. The local TV stations are all on channels 4, 5, 8, 11, 12, 13, and so on. Nevertheless, a TV antenna is designed to pick up those frequencies regardless of whether the digital signal contains HD or Non-HD programing & content. It does not differentiate between. It's the TV tuner that does the differentiating. Out-putting of HD and Non-HD programing & content on whichever channel it is to be displayed on. Oh, and TV turners are built into TVs. You don't need to buy an external TV turner which is essentially what this box is. Unless of course: 1. The TV tuner in your existing TV is doing a really poor job of tuning. A lot of LCD and Plasma TVs built before 2015 had really cheap low quality TV Tuners in them. They could not pick up weak TV signals. Whatever was being displayed on the screen broke up or was static. 2. You got a really Old Tube type TV that can't do digital. This box will take care of that. It will convert the digital Tv signals to analog. It has a DAC built as well. DAC = digital to analog convertor. If your TV is that old though you should probably be buying a new TV rather than one of these boxes.
