Answer:	Yes! I found an easy way. Buy a Switchbot (on Amazon for about $30). And buy a Switchbot Hub Plus (on Amazon for about $60). The switchbot is basically a little robot box, whose sole function is to press a button. Position it over the Mode button on the Dog Door (the switchbot already has an adhesive sticker that works perfectly). On the switchbot app, change the push duration (amount of time the switchbot holds the Mode button before releasing) to 3 seconds. That’s how long it takes to cycle the dog door from one mode to the next (lock, unlock,automatic). You can now control the Switchbot (and your dog door) with your phone if you are within Bluetooth range of it. Now, set up the Switchbot Hub Plus. Now you can control the switchbot on your phone (on the Switchbot app) no matter where you are (because now it’s linked to WiFi instead of Bluetooth). There you go! Took me awhile to figure this out, but I was tired of paying someone to come to my house every day while I’m at work to let the dogs out. (I don’t like them sitting in the backyard barking all morning, waking my neighbors up). So I unlock the dog door from my phone at lunch time and my dogs then have access to the backyard until I get home. Although I could theoretically lock it again later if I watch them on my security camera to see that they are both inside. I don’t even need to use the Smart Collar things that come with the dog door.

Question:	How bulky is the collar for a 7lb cat
Answer:	The sensor measures 2" long by 1" wide by about 5/8" thick. Our cat is 12 lb and it doesn't seem to bother her though it looks a bit large to me. Be sure to buy extra batteries for the collar - we tried to solder our own (they are a regular type of battery that has the contacts modified) and it didn't work. The collar ran out of juice, so we had to pay overnight shipping to get new batteries, and to spend the night opening and closing the door for the cat.
Question:	Has anyone installed this door when owning two dogs of vastly different heights? (Corgi & Lab for example) What height did you install the door at
Answer:	I have two large doors installed, one is mounted so bottom of door is at floor level for a Beagle with IVDD that has a no jump order from her vet due to spinal damage. The other is mounted high for large German Shepherds. Added a deck platform outside with ramp since elevation was too high for either. Incidentally one of my 100lb dogs actually prefers the lower mount door, and just ducks down when she goes through it, and it works great for her. So it really depends on the dogs, how much they mind jumping versus ducking.
Question:	Does the door have a timer feature? i.e at 10pm only let the dog inside but not out
Answer:	Unfortunately, there is no type of built-in timer feature. You can definitely set it up so the dog can go in but not out, but you'd have to plug the door's adaptor into an external timer to get the functionality you want - i.e., if the dog was outside you'd have to have the door plugged into a timer that had the door turned completely off. Then you could have it power up at your set time and I think the door would remember that you had it set for entrance only. However, if the power failed & the door was running on its backup battery that would be an issue! You might give High Tech Pet a call (805-644-1797), they're very helpful. They're on Pacific time BTW.
Question:	If my dog takes too long coming through the door, will it chop her in half
Answer:	No Bill, it will not chop her in half. First of all, the door closes on gravity alone. Secondly, there is a built in safety that pulls the door up if it encounters any obstacle in its path, on the same principle of the safety used in garage doors. Answer:	I have two sheepdogs, 120-150 pounds, the large is great size for them. Although I wouldn’t recommend this product. The first day it locked both my dogs and cats outside, my cats aren’t suppose to be able to use the door because they don’t have keys. It makes a really loud noise when locking, one of my dogs is scared of it. And now I’m scared to use it because it might lock everyone outside while I’m gone. I use it as a regular doggy door now, until I can replace my door. It also got delivered broken on the bottom, I have very disappointed and amazon has been no help at all on returning it, and said I couldn’t get my “full refund” back even after they delivered it broken. I’m very disappointed in this product, just my option though.

Answer:	It does not come with a collar but does come with a round "key" that u attach to your dog's collar. Door can be set to not open without this device & nothing else can go in or out.
Question:	Does this kit come with long screws? as the screws that come with the small door are rather short
Answer:	The wall kit does not come with screws and it is not molded with the screw receivers like the backing of the door mount. So longer screws won't help. You have to cut the hole smaller than the template on both side so you can mount both pieces to the wall seperately. You also have to seal the pieces where they join otherwise rain can penitrate your wall. My wall was 8" thick and the wall kit just bearly filled the gap. If I was to do this again, I would use both sides of the door kit, fabricate my own extention from alinium flashing, and buy long screws to connect it together.

Question:	Security, brake in proof
Answer:	Nothing is break-in proof, but with regard to being secure, it beats a flap by orders of magnitude. There are a couple of things to consider. If someone is looking for a small-, or a medium-sized door, someone managing to get in would have to be really small--think "toddler". Honestly, if someone wants in, they're probably not going to bother with this door. They'd just smash a window or kick in an actual door. I have used three of these in the past 15 years or so. The first one finally died after four min-pins wore it out, and the second one was still working when I sold my old house in August. Door #3 is now installed in the new location, and I wouldn't have it any other way. That said, I've only had min-pin, dachshund, and rat terrier sized dogs, using the Medium-sized door. The opening is roughly 8.5x11, like a sheet of normal paper. I can't say what a large-sized door opening might attract, but I'm not sure if I would risk what kind of large dog might live on the inside, if I were stupid enough to think about breaking into a house with one of these installed. Answer:	They say that the pet door is compatible with all microchips commonly used for pets. Specifically 15 digit FDXB, 10 digit FDXA/Trovan and 9 digit Avid. They also include a collar tag compatible with the door. I've had one for 2 years now and it works great.
Question:	Does it close solidly aginst bad weather
Answer:	The door closes due to gravity, and with a secondary magnet assisted system.The door has two sets of latches; one for preventing going in, and the other for preventing coming in. Usually only one set of latches are activated. There's an optional custom mode for enabling all two sets of latches for preventing problems with raccoons.There's some minimal fuzz-type weather stripping along the perimeter of the door flap. Since the door needs to open and close from both directions, I speculate it is difficult to install more weather stripping without degrading the operation of the door flap.As for severe weather, the latches lock securely, with minimal drafting. Since this is Summer, I'll have to report back (within my review) how well the door performs during the Winter or subzero months.
Question:	Is this the large door, what are messurements
Answer:	This is the larger one meant for small dogs and large cats. Small dogs like a yorkie or a corgi. This is the measurements listed under the description on Amazon. The dimensions of the flap (the smallest area your pet will need to pass through) is 7\" (w) x 6.69\" (h). The size of the hole required to install the pet door is 8.15\" (w) x 9.21\" (h).
Question:	Does anyone have experience with raccoons prying open the door to come in
Answer:	We've had raccoons get in on two occasions.They can't pry the door open.We concluded they got in by "tailgating" - pushing their way in before the cat's tail is through the door.Clever little guys!
