| Answer: | I have two cats that weigh about ten pounds each. I have two finches inside this cage which they watch all the time. They lay on the cage and attack the cage but have never been able to get a paw in the cage. They also have not figured out how to lift the door and its not locked. I think it would be perfect for parakeets. I have a parrotlet, which I think is about the same size as a parakeet. It would be perfect with lots of room for accessories. The only thing to make sure of is that you have a base that is 18" deep. I noticed, when I went to set it up that most of my end tables and dressers are only 17" deep! |

| Answer: | This cage measure 30x18x18. I prefer these cages for finches and canaries as these birds need to stretch their wings regularly and the length of this cage gives them that opportunity. I would say 4 finches at the most and a pair of canaries would the most this cage should hold. Other cages although they may look fancier and have more style they just aren't as easy to clean or do they truly satisfy the bird's needs like these flight cages. |

| Answer: | I don’t use this for water. I use two of these for seed for my love bird and princess of whales bird. I would recommend getting a Lix water bottle that attaches outside the cage. They keep the water clean, makes it very easy to refill as you don’t have to reach inside the cage. You would have to open the cage to refill this. I had parakeets for many years and the Lix water bottle worked very well. |

Unless ur bird used it Only for drinking and not for bathing.Hopeless for my zebra and society finches who bath and Splash.My parakeets didn't bath so would have been nice if the knob to attach to cage didn't break so quickly. Tried like 6 of these because was all they carried at my local pet store but didn't last. |

Super easy removable from its attached base for refills. Easy two clean. Water doesn't get dirty as much as it gets in bowl kinda dishes. We just rinse it on very hot water. We change it every third day. And it doesn't leak. At least ours doesn't. So, I'm pretty satisfied with the purchase and am thinking to get another one too. |

| Answer: | The length measurements given for each of the various perches listed is the total length of the perch "including" both end caps. Each individual plastic end cap measures a little over 2 inches in length. The slots in each end cap are one inch deep. Because these perches bend and retain their shape than can easily be formed as needed it's better to get one longer than you need. You can simply twist and bend the rope to conform to the space. HINT: Bend it into the shape of the letter "S" or maybe the letter "C". NET: To calculate the actual length of the section of exposed rope itself, take the advertised measurement and subtract 4". To determine the perch length from slot to slot, take the advertised measurement and subtract 2 inches. (EXAMPLE: A 28" perch minus 4 inches (2 inches for each end cap) means the physical section of exposed rope will be 24". The same 28" perch minus 2 inches means the measurement from slot to slot will be approx 26 inches.) |

Some sellers use "small", medium , and large, in place of the diameter size. The smallest/thinnest is 1/2"...the largest is 1".. the way they are made, I really think any bird can hold on to any size...IMO...it's a braided soft cotton rope..my little budgie feet can stand on the smallest or the largest, no problem. It's very grip-able. |

I hate it when the ends come off, they never stay on again, tried hot glue gun but still comes apart after a while and makes me mad. I like the Sisal rope Zigzag perches the best on PetSolutions, they have a screw and wing nut that seam to never come apart and fit any of my 10 cages, no problem, I can squeeze it together and make it small or as large as I want, I get the 36" ones 1 1/2 diameter. I havn't check to see if they are on Amazon also, guess I better to see if they are cheaper, I have bought about 20 of them so far. |

| Answer: | Yes but that can happen with perches and many toys if their nails get too long. You can take them to an avian vet that will clip them and it isn't expensive at all! But if you don't have an avian vet near you, you could get one of those Pedi perches that have a smooth side for the bottom of the feet, and the rough side only touches their nails to help file them down. |
