Answer:	Actually, the local Wild Birds store recommends freezing nyger seed to keep it fresh. I've done this for years with no problems. The most important thing with nyger is to keep it fresh. In my experience the birds refuse stale food, which never happens after it's been frozen.

If you would like to check out our No Waste products these will not germinate. To avoid germinating you can sterilize your birdseed. For a gallon of seed, place in a paper bag and cook on high in microwave for 5 minutes. In a conventional oven, place on a flat baking sheet and cook for 30 minutes at 300 degrees. I know my doves count on it. Don't confuse it with cheap and undesired milo. I recommend researching and creating your own healthy seed mix. I'm sure to include (in no particular order): black oil sunflower, sunflower hearts and chips, millet, halved peanuts (no shells), cracked corn, nyjer thistle (a smidge year-round and a feeder for my summer finches), and of course I feed suet. Answer:	There are 2 socks...16"x 3". Not exactly sure how much seed one holds...but it is quite a bit.

Answer:	This is not normal. The sock has a rubber gasket that should sit on the four clips that surround the ouside of the funnel hole, and are slightly above the bottom on the funnel hole. The rubber gasket or rubber band should be tight and not stretched out.

Answer:	We had the same problem. We never saw a finch with this product. Then we switched the feed to Kaytee Nyjer Seed Wild Bird and now we have three feeders full of finches! I would also like my money back!

Answer:	Thistle shells end up on the ground... and a pan to catch refuse is not compatible with this design, though other designs (I believe Droll Yankee feeders) have a thread for a hook at the bottom of the feeder from which one can suspend a pan to catch the husks.
