The extension cord was placed close enough to plug in a water heater during the winter. The water heater has only a short pigtail cord about 6" long. This pump has a cord much longer. I left it wound up when I installed it, but I guess it is at least two or three feet long. I will not be able to measure it for a while but thought this estimate might be useful. |

I had purchased 2 so that I could always have one in the cage while the other one is being cleaned. You can also take a vacuum hose and vacuum off the debris that way. It might not even be necessary to wash it each time. |
