User questions & answers

Question: is it designed to be installed outdoors? Or do I need to place it in a weather proof box
Answer: Yes it is. I have two of these for my outdoor landscape lighting in Florida and they have been mounted outside for the last 3 years and are operating perfectly and still look like new. They are designed to be outside.
Question: I need a 12 volt transformer for a regular 300 watt light (not led) . would this one work
Answer: It would work but would overload after a short period of time. A transformer should not be loaded more than 80% of its rated capacity. So in this case a 300 watt transformer is good for about 240 watts continuously. A 600 watt transformer is good for 480 watts continuously.
Question: Do thes come wth the power cable? I don't see it in the picture
Answer: This does not come with the wires/ power cables that run to the light. It also does not come with the wire that comes off the circuit breaker panel. It is simply a step down transformer. But it works just fine.
Question: I have 2 20 watt led underwater, rgb controller, and plan on more low wattage landscape lighting in the future, would this be sufficient
Answer: This is a 300W transformer. If you choose LED lights you will be able to put a lot of lights on it. If incandescent or halogen bulbs are used, you have to be careful you don't overload it. Are you sure your lights are 20W LED? That is quite a lot of consumption for an LED light. Anyway, you just have to add up your wattage and try to keep it below 300.

Intermatic RC613 Receiver with On/Off Button, Color

Intermatic

Based on 102 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Control loads with the receiver mounted ON/OFF button or wirelessly via a remote transmitter. GENERAL INFORMATION: These Modular Radio Receivers are one half of a two part remote control system. They operate as ordinary ON/OFF switches but they also respond to the signals of a hand held transmitter - the other half of the system. The modules are designed for indoor or outdoor use, and can handle a variety of switching applications, typical around the house or farm. By the push of a button on the face of the transmitter, the user is able to turn ON/OFF the connected load (lights, pump, etc.) from any remote location*, safely and conveniently. In addition, a single transmitter can operate up to three Receivers and is able to “teach” each Module a different code. (Transmitters are sold separately). Model RC613 Receiver Module comes with its own manual ON/OFF button and it is intended to be installed at the location of the load. The connected load may be turned ON/OFF using the hand-held transmitter or turned ON/OFF by pushing the red button on the face of the Receiver. Model RC613L Receiver Module is the same as RC613 except that it comes with extra long (36 in.) leads. * The open field range is approximately 200 feet or less, but depends on many factors like the age of the battery, proximity of large metal objects, the location of the receiver and environmental conditions at the time of transmission. SPECIFICATIONS AND OTHER INFORMATION: USEFUL INFORMATION 1. Must be mounted upright. Antenna must be up. 2. Radio Receivers are sensitive to heat. Avoid mounting them above heater, air conditioner or exposed to afternoon sun. 3. The higher the Receiver Module, the longer its range. For good range and reliable reception, install modules as high as practical above ground level with antenna at top. 4. Large metal objects divert radio signals. Avoid mounting Receiver Modules on metal wall, fence or near large metal objects. 5. Environmental conditions could effect the operation of the remote control system. For example, in rain the range may be less than normal. 6. Certain electric equipment like brush type motors or electronic gas heater igniters emit radio signals and can effect the function of the Receiver Module. Avoid mounting modules near such equipment. 7. To prevent electronic interference, install Receiver Modules at least 3 feet apart. INSTALLATION: 1. Attach Receiver Module to the top of an outdoor grade junction box. Make sure the assembly is raintight. 2. Select the proper location (see Useful Information above) and install Receiver assembly on a vertical surface or other support, using hardware, suitable for the purpose. 3. Prepare the necessary conduit runs as required by the installation layout and pull-in the specified conductors. 4. Follow wiring diagram A on the right, make wire connections as shown. 5. Turn ON power and test installation, using the ON/OFF button on face of the Receiver Module. Replace junction box cover, make sure the installation is secure and raintight. 6. To link transmitter button with the receiver, see Operating Instructions on page 3. OPERATION: Linking RC939 Transmitter Button with the RC613 Receiver 1. To clear any existing codes, press and hold the blue code set button on the receiver for 15 seconds then release. 2. Now insert a paper clip in the hole on the bottom right side of remote and get the red light on the bottom to light up. (NOTE: Illuminated LED may be difficult to see in direct sunlight.) 3. To link the reciever and transmitter, go back to the receiver and press & release the blue code set button. 4. Now choose the button on the remote you want it on and SLOWLY ”press & release”. 5. After the 7th time, you should hear the relay in the receiver click. 6. Continue to SLOWLY press the remote button (relay should click every 4th time now). 7. Repeat until you hear the relay click 3 or 4 times. 8. Press one of the other 2 buttons on the remote to save the code. Linking Multiple transmitters with a Receiver Up to three different transmitters can control a receiver. Follow steps 1 through 4 of Linking each RC939 transmitter with the RC613 receiver. 3

User questions & answers

Question: How long are the wires coming out of box
Answer: It has been a while since I bought this, but I believe they are about 12" long. Plenty long enough to wire into the other wires in my electrical box. By the way, this switch works great, no problems!
Question: Can I use this switch to turn on a 220 Volt pool pump motor
Answer: The correct answer may depend upon the country you are in. If you are in the USA, 220 V consists of two hot wires, a neutral, and sometimes ground. In other countries, the 220 Vac may be supplied by a single hot wire. The RC613 appears to be designed for a single hot wire. So, I'd say it won't work in the US since you need a two pole device (one for each hot wire). For 220 Vac US operation, the RC613R model may work. The RC613R data sheet states: "30 A Resistive - 120/240 V, 12.5 A (1500 W) Tungsten - 120 V, 1.5 HP - 120 V, 3 HP - 240 V, Double Pole Single Throw Contacts." I suggest you contact Intermatic.
Question: year warranty is included? if needed, would i to contact intermactic directly... not amazon
Answer: Yes, you would contact Intermatic.

User questions & answers

Question: Worked great for 3 month, but wheel stopped turning. Power goes through to pool pump, gears not turning. Any one fix similar problem
Answer: I had a similar problem. The timer motor was the problem. Check to make sure you have 110volts to the timer motor, if you do and the output shaft is not moving then that is the problem. You can purchase the less costly motor only. It's a simple procedure to replace.
Question: Is this a single pole or double pole
Answer: It's a double pole. I used the T103 for a submersible pump application which was continually dropping a GFI upon shutdown when using a single-pole switch - double pole shutdown using the T103 solved the GFI feedback problem.
Question: I received T103 . I wired unit the clock won't work I have to turn unit by myself
Answer: Check to make sure you have power to to clock. White wire to neutral (#1), power to line (#2) and ground to green screw. If the clock still doesn't work, check breaker. Run black wire of light to load( #2) , white to neutral and ground to green screw.
Question: My pool timer says model t103h. would this model work? i can't find my model anywhere
Answer: If your pool or other load is 240 volts be sure you use a DPST because it will break both black (typically) L1 & L2! If not you will run a very high risk of electrocution. I'm stating this just for anyone who may not know.

User questions & answers

Question: My pool timer trippers keep bending
Answer: I have seen this sometimes as I repair pool equipment. You can bend the pins back to their original shape by using a needle nose plier. Do not over bend or the pins will not trip the timer.
Question: operating instructions for t101R
Answer: I'm not an expert on this system but have used it for a couple of years.
Question: can I use this model to replace model 101 P, what is the difference
Answer: T101P has a plastic case, thus the P. The T101R has a metal case which is rainproof and able to be used outdoors as well as indoors, thus the R. The M attached to the Intermatic model lineup indicates that it is just the "Mechanical switch" by itself with no enclosure, which would be used as a replacement. Ideally you would be looking to get a 101M, unless you wanted to upgrade your enclosure and make it rainproof and metal. Hope this helps.
Question: Is the case plastic or metal
Answer: Across all models of Intermatic switches - If there is a "P" in the model number the case will be plastic If there is an "M" in the model number you will get the "Mechanical Switch" only. No case. Used for replacement. Otherwise the cases are metal An "R" in the model number indicates that the case is "Rainproof" Hope this helps
Question: What is the lease amount of time it can be set for like 15 on 5 off 15 on for one day every other day
Answer: You can set up to 7 programs per day, and it appears that they can be set right down to as little as a minute, as this is a digital unit. If you do a search for the manual for this timer, you will see it explained there.
Question: Can you program it to start and stop twice a day, every day of the week? (ie. pool pump 8am-12pm, 4pm-8pm every day
Answer: Yes. Can put in multiple , daily programs. Great timer. I have been very happy with mine for two years now. (starting third "pool year" now.)
Question: Does this unit have a battery backup so I wouldn't lose time set
Answer: It does, it is a built in rechargeable battery.
Question: Does anyone know is this suitable to use for a 30amp water heater and how many timer programmes per day can you use. Is it manual clock or digital
Answer: A typical domestic water heater is 4500W for each element at 240V, but only one element is allowed to come on at a time. So that's 4500/240 = 18.75 amps. Even with a 10% or 20% margin, this Aube timer - rated at 30 amps - is more than sufficient. This item allows 7 programs. So you could have a different schedule of 1-off/1-on on 7 different days, or you could have 7 identical on-off cycles for all days. One of the beauties of this unit that distinguishes it from the others (including Intermatic digital timers) is that you can install an external SPST switch (a basic light switch will work fine) which overrides the unit and puts it into manual or switches it back into automatic. So, for example, I can use the switch to put the water heater into manual mode and leave it off when I go on vacation. Then, I leave instructions for my house-sitter to just throw the switch and put it back into automatic mode on her last visit so we have hot water when we get home from the airport.

User questions & answers

Question: can I buy more timer clips
Answer: This number is for the timer motor only, not the timer assembly, nor the case enclosing the assembly. This little motor is what usually goes bad. It can be replaced, but it is easier to replace the whole assembly. Model T104M is the timer assembly (includes the little motor) and Model T104P3 includes the timer assembly in a metal case. This case is not recommended for outside usage. If you want to use outside, install the Model T104M in a totally enclosed plastic case.
Question: How do you determine whether you need a 110 or 240 volt timer? I don't see any indication on the old timer
Answer: Absoluely, this works great for in ground pools. I bought one for my 10,000 gal pool with a 1 hp pump running on 220. excellent product.
Question: I'm replacing my pool pump timer, intermatic it tells me to use wg1573-5 what model is this

Question: My timer for my pool has died. Would this product work for an outdoor, inground pool? The 220 is what I need
Answer: Yes. Can put in multiple , daily programs. Great timer. I have been very happy with mine for two years now. (starting third "pool year" now.)

Answer: Yes, it can be set for different settings for specific days. has ability to set up to 7 different on/off pairs of settings. You can choose what days you want what settings used for. Its not the most intuitive programing I have ever used but once you understand the procedure it works well. Only problem I have run into is that I wish I had gotten a timer with a cover as I have had problems with toddlers playing with the exposed buttons and resetting things on me.
Question: Can the 2 recepticles be timed differently? One for 16 daytime hours for lights in my greehouse and the other for 8 nighttime hours for the heater
Answer: If you buy two on them, you can set the minimum for whatever minimum you desire since they have their own battery power.
Question: Can you set it for different hours on different days and skip some days
Answer: Hello Lou 1234, thank you for your question. This item geared more towards lighting products, not for pool pumps. If you have any further questions, please give us a call between the hours of 7 AM – 8 PM Central Standard Time, Monday thru Friday at 1-800-654-8483, press option 2.
Question: What is the shortest duration the timer can be set for
Answer: Hello selami tekiroglu, thank you for your question. No, we do not have this with an Australian plug.
