Question:	I'm having problem getting the lid off and suggestion? I would greatly appreciated
Answer:	Yes, the lid can be hard to get off of the pump. What I use to make it easier is "O-Ring Lube", available at pool supply stores. Apply a thin coating to all mating surfaces and the O-ring seal. One other item I use is a strainer basket in the pool surface strainer, it catches most the leaves, so cleaning the basket on the pump doesn't have to be that often. Hope it helps you.

Answer:	I don’t think you can. It’s a factory warranty and if you install it I have read that the factory warranty isn’t honored when I read other customers responses. If it’s installed by a pool company it’s honored.

Answer:	Not sure, but I would not recommend it. My first one lasted about 18 years and I never had a problem with it. I am now into my second year with a new one and nothing has ever gone wrong. Its a very reliable pump and I can't think of a reason for an extended warranty.

Answer:	I was sent a pump with a broken pivot nut. Could not tighten lid. Lots of bubbles. Check filter gasket and the tightness of lid. If that is not it you have discovered an air leak in the suction side of pool. New pump higher suction could cause this.

Answer:	No, the air chuck doesn't. I replaced my hose with a 6 ft. rubber hose, fittings and new air chuck. The hose it comes with will not flex or bend when temperature gets around 35 degrees. Question:	Can the pump discharge be adjusted from up top to a side discharge
Answer:	I don't see any easy way without tearing it apart and "maybe" rotating the housing 90 degrees. I'm not sure if that will even work. If you have room, you can always use a 90 degree street elbow fitting right out of the discharge housing.

Answer:	There is a slide switch that you select 110 or 220 volt on the outside end of the motor. Remove the plastic cover by the two screws.

Answer:	I use this pump for my 18000 gallon pool. It is sufficient for that with the heat pump and pool vacuum cleaner when I need to clean the pool. I think it should be fine

Answer:	Yes. I have a 32,000 gallon pool and it works great. I have had this pump for tree years now. I run it year round. I went through two Hayward single stage pumps and I highly recommend this. Monthly electric bills are lower using this pump. I have never run my pump at a full rpm. I run the pump at 2200 rpm for 6 hours, 2800 rpm for 3 hours, and off the rest of the time. I have had to issues running a Polaris 280 with it. I just replace it though with an electric pool cleaner.

Answer:	The pump has a variety of speeds. It is programmable. When mine turns on, it is programmed at high speed for 30 minutes to clear the surface and get the water moving. My pool man programmed it for me to drop to 30% for the next 5 hours. That saves me $$. Now if I'm having people over to swim, i can hit a quick clean button to clear the surface again. The longer i can keep the pump running at less than full power the more money I save.
Question:	My 1hp pump went out and heard a variable speed pump is the way to go when replacing it. is it ok to go up to a 1.5 hp
Answer:	Variable speed pumps can be set to handle different flows to accommodate pipe size, I use this pump to replace a 1.5 HP pool filter pump (2" pipe)and a 1 HP spa jets pump (1-1/2" pipe). Just program the speed (RPM) to accommodate the use and the flow of the pipe sizes. By only running the pump at the design capacity of the plumbing, noise is reduces to a wiper and it actually uses about half the energy that the original pump uses (in my case 400 watts vs 800 for the spa, yours may be different). All the speed in both pumps are set lower than 3000 RPM. No issues vacuuming (cleaning) and the Jets are quite strong in the spa). If you can effort the extra cost variable speed pumps are more versatile and they don't destroy their self by running full speed.

Answer:	This pump will work with 230VAC power supply. The motor is specified as 110VAC/220VAC, however 115VAC/230VAC is within the rating tolerance and would be a situation which would be expected to be encountered in normal line fluctuations.

Answer:	The basket strainer is not seated properly so the lid doesn’t seal. The lid is not sealed. No gasket in the lid. Intake fitting leaks. Get the installer back.
Question:	where do you find the pump curves for this
Answer:	By curves I take it you mean the pvc connections that go into the threaded part of the pump. I found mine at my local hardware store, but I would think Lowe's or any place that sells pvc pipe connectios would be able to help. It took a 11/2 inch fine threaded male fittingto fit the pump and 11/2 pipe union for the rest of my connections. Check your lines to make sure of the size that you have on your old pump and buy fittings for that size. Hope this helps.

Answer:	I'm not an expert but I see no problem.. as your pumping water. Just make sure the specs match what you need! This pump has been running daily here on FL and I've had no issues in a year. It was super easy to replace my old Haward!

Answer:	This is a self priming pump. My pump is located about 30 ft from my skimmer and two ft rise with no problem priming.

Answer:	I do believe so, I talked to my local pump repair shop owner and he had high praise for the Harris brand, also said that the parts were readily available. I hope I don't have to use any of them for a few years at least! So far the pump is on par with the Hayward pump that it replaced at more than half the price of the Hayward pump.

Answer:	I have a 15' round, 54" deep above ground pool that I bought from a local pool store. They installed it s well. I was given a 1HP pump by Waterway. I never had any problem with sand being blown into the pool, and though there was some rotation in the pool, it was far from a whirlpool. It kept the leaves & debris in the center of the pool, which made it easier to clean. That was 6 years ago, & my Waterway just died. I just replaced it with this pump. It's supposed to be arriving Tuesday, so I can't comment on any differences. I can tell you that the pool company gave me a TWM 19 diameter sand filter, & it's been just fine for us. Answer:	I got a 1.5 pool filter hose like 3' hose and 2 couplings for the pump out and filter in..these are 1.5 threaded male couplings on one side...on the other side I used clamps to secure the hose.Hope this will help you

Answer:	Yes, you have to remove (4) long bolts from the back of the motor and then you can rotate the pump 90 degrees. I had to do this and it has worked well. The Hayward unit has worked well for me and is a good deal for the money.

Answer:	That is a great idea. I've got a leaky 26' skiff that may be a candidate for an aux. pump, if it will fit through the hatch opening into my bilge. The wide base may be a problem but it's perfect for a pool cover.

Answer:	Well yes actually they can be duel, depending on the installment - an in ground draws water up called lift - an above ground doesn't have to really lift once the syphon starts the pool water pretty much feeds itself with a boost from pump)( should not use an above ground on a below ground - but can use a duel or in ground on an in ground - would recommend using thick wiring regular romex like 12 or 14 gauge will cause the motors to run hot and shorten life of pump motor drastically (bigger the hose water flows easy) (bigger the wire electric flows easy) same difference doesnt cost anymore with bigger wire just removes the restriction that small wire can cause - I use 6 gauge to wire mine never had or have any issues runs great motor runs cool and never over heats - I would suggest 6 to 8 gauge wire - lower number thicker the wire
Question:	This pump is advertized as dual speed. how do you switch fro low speed to high
Answer:	I’ve never changed the speed. I didn’t know it was an option. However, the pump did get very loud after about 6 months. The O ring disintegrated in the impeller and caused the noise. The company would not help us. Paperwork says one year warranty but when I contacted xtremepower, I was told the warranty was fit 6 months only and we had just hit 6 months.
