Answer:	You must use a winterizing kit. This thing will not winterize your pool because it has no chlorine and no algaecide in it. A water clarifier only works if you have the filter running. And there is no way that a few enzymes can kill organic material like chlorine and algaecide.

Answer:	Yes, just be sure to either predilute the granules using a 5gal bucket or sweep them around from sitting at the bottom, on the liner. They have a kit for up to 25k gallons I believe, not that a 30k kit would harm it, just be sure to circulate the system for complete water turnover.

Answer:	Live in Maine above ground with a deep end 16x32 usually winterize around 1st of October. I keep it balanced until then. After winterizing I don't cover it all winter ... freezes pretty much solid.... when it melts in April water is Crystal clear. As far as temperature before winterizing I don't dare to do it too early so it doesn't turn green before it gets cold enough to freeze... probably 55 or 60 when I do. Hope this helps

1. Remove & clean pool cover

Before taking off the pool cover, use a soft broom to sweep away dead leaves and large debris. Lift the cover away from the pool and lay it flat to wash. After it dries, fold and store it away for the summer. Remove any large debris that might have dropped into the pool.

2. Remove Winterizing Equipment

Remove the winterizing pool plugs that prevented water from getting into your pool’s plumbing during the winter. If you used an ice compensator, remove it from your skimmer.

3. Add Water

Since the pool probably lost several inches of water over the winter, bring your water levels up to normal. Use a hose filter to prevent metals and other contaminants from getting in your pool.

4. Set up filter and pump

Follow manufacturer instructions for setting up and running your filter and pump, including reinstalling the drain plugs and replacing broken or worn equipment. Take a look at your filter and replace or clean with HTH Filter Cleaner if necessary.

Answer:	No, it does not. You can see on the label - it lists the active ingredient as Calcium Hypochlorite, which is only a pure chlorinating agent. The CYA-stabilized chlorines are called "trichloro-s-triazinetrione" or "dichloro-s-triazinetrione" - the names are complicated-sounding but you can identify them easily by the "trichlor" or "dichlor" starting part.

Maintenance

First start by filling the pool to the appropriate level. Clean out the skimmer and pump basket making sure all debris has been removed. Once you hit the appropriate water level turn on and circulate the pool for 3 - 4 hours. While the pool is circulating take the time to brush, net, or vacuum the pool to remove excess debris. Backwash or clean the filter once the vacuuming is completed.

Testing the water weekly or bi-weekly, depending on use and outside variables, helps keep your pool/spa water healthy. Sanitizing

There are many different types of sanitizers used in various pool and spa environments. Clean and healthy water starts by establishing a proper residual chlorine level with shock or concentrated granular chlorine. The most common way to maintain a proper chlorine level is by using trichlor chlorine tablets in either a floater or chemical feeder. Applying these steps to your normal maintenance plan will ensure the elimination of non-living organic contaminants, bacteria, micro organisms, and algae making your water safe to enjoy.

Clarifying

Now that the treatment is over, it’s time to deal with the aftermath of turbidity, cloudy, or hazy water. Depending on the size of particle that will determine what type of clarifier you are going to use. If you are dealing with larger particles, you should use a flocculating agent to break the surface tension and drop everything to the bottom for vacuuming. If you are dealing with very small fine particles then use a coagulant type clarifier. This will group the small particles together into a bigger particle for easy filtration.

Answer:	The box comes with written instructions on what to put in and when to add it. But you do the kit about a day before u close the pool

Answer:	At first I added half a bag, then tested the water the next day. then I added a whole bag due to my tap water to get it at the right levels, then for maintenance about 1/3 of a bag depending on how much swimming and people in the pool.

In The Swim Pool Opening Chemical Start Up Kit

Stain, Rust & Scale Preventer: Prevents and removes mineral stains caused by iron, copper, and magnesium. It also prevents the build-up of scale around the water line and in the plumbing.

Algaecide: Kills and prevents all types of algae, including green & yellow mustard algae. Can be applied to inground or above ground pools and spas. This non-foaming formula will not cloud the pool water. Swimming Pool Algaecide is non-metallic, safe with well water, and is safe to swim after use.

Chlorine Shock: An essential aspect of spring pool opening & can also give your pool a quick chlorine boost anytime. Super Pool Shock is our most powerful shock treatment. Kills the toughest algae and bacteria as well as other harmful water contaminants.

Clarifier: Coagulates dirt, oil and other contaminants. Fast and completely biodegradable, this won't affect chemical balance. Due to the high quality of filtration that DE Filters provide, it is not recommended that this product is used with a DE pool filter.

Sun Sorb: Absorbs 40 times its weight in non-living organic contaminants (body oil and lotion) left on the surface of the water. Keeps contaminants out of the plumbing and filtration system to help maintain proper flow and circulation rates.

Maintenance

First start by filling the pool to the appropriate level. Clean out the skimmer and pump basket making sure all debris has been removed. Once you hit the appropriate water level turn on and circulate the pool for 3 - 4 hours. While the pool is circulating take the time to brush, net, or vacuum the pool to remove excess debris. Backwash or clean the filter once the vacuuming is completed.

Water Testing & Balancing

Testing the water weekly or bi-weekly, depending on use and outside variables, helps keep your pool/spa water healthy. Utilizing a DPD or OTO reagent-based water test kit, test strips, or digital testing will help you monitor the pool or spa water chemistry. Adjusting and balancing your pool or spa water chemistry ensures that you will get the most out of the swimming season. The benefit of having good pH and Alkalinity levels is it increases the ability of your main sanitizer to kill bacteria. Balanced pool water chemistry will also reduce chemical and maintenance costs. Balanced pH and alkalinity help prevent corrosion and scale formation on the interior pool surface and surrounding equipment.

Sanitizing

There are many different types of sanitizers used in various pool and spa environments. Clean and healthy water starts by establishing a proper residual chlorine level with shock or concentrated granular chlorine. The most common way to maintain a proper chlorine level is by using trichlor chlorine tablets in either a floater or chemical feeder. Applying these steps to your normal maintenance plan will ensure the elimination of non-living organic contaminants, bacteria, micro organisms, and algae making your water safe to enjoy.

Treatment

Even after all your preparation, sometimes life happens and your pool or spa can get away from you. In those moments, we need to start back from the beginning with testing of the water. Now that you have a clear idea of the current readings, your next steps will depend on the type of symptoms your water is presenting. This may include an issue such as algae (green, yellow, black, etc.), cloudiness, living organics, debris, and other water conditions.

Clarifying

Now that the treatment is over, it’s time to deal with the aftermath of turbidity, cloudy, or hazy water. Depending on the size of particle that will determine what type of clarifier you are going to use. If you are dealing with larger particles, you should use a flocculating agent to break the surface tension and drop everything to the bottom for vacuuming. If you are dealing with very small fine particles then use a coagulant type clarifier. This will group the small particles together into a bigger particle for easy filtration.
