Answer:	Lol, what a use, make it uglier, haha. Not really, sticks to paint and metal, but tape is quite thick and stiff, on curved areas (pipe) overtime could lift trying to straighten itself out. Unless you cut it up into small enough slices or find enough flat areas, I would expect it not to stay. Reflects very well on the other hand.

Answer:	I really doubt that it would. The Canon cartridges mostly look the same until you actually try to install them, then subtle differences become apparent, or your machine will simply not recognize it. I think you need the 540XL instead.

Answer:	Many different cartridge manufacturers use a different number of bands when making these filter cartridge replacements, but the number of bands does not affect the performance or lifespan of the cartridges. When installed water flows from the outside of the cartridge to the inside, so the water pressure in the tank holds everything together itself, making the outer bands more of an aesthetic feature than anything else. Also we have not come across many issues of these bands coming disconnected or unglued prematurely.
