13 best glue traps
Glue traps, also known as adhesive traps or sticky traps, are devices used in pest control to capture and control a variety of unwanted pests, primarily insects and rodents. Here's what you need to know about glue traps:
Design: Glue traps consist of a flat or folded piece of cardboard or plastic that is coated with a sticky adhesive substance on one side. This adhesive surface is often covered with a protective layer that you peel off to expose the sticky area.
Pest Control: Glue traps are primarily designed to capture pests such as insects, spiders, rodents (like mice and rats), and sometimes even snakes. They are commonly used in both residential and commercial settings to manage pest infestations.
Easy Setup: Using glue traps is a straightforward process. You simply place the trap in areas where pests are active or likely to travel, such as along walls, in corners, or near potential entry points. Once a pest comes into contact with the adhesive, it becomes stuck.
Non-Toxic: Glue traps are generally considered a non-toxic pest control method. They don't rely on poisons or chemicals, making them safer for use in areas where there are children or pets. However, they can still cause distress to trapped animals.
Monitoring and Detection: Glue traps can also be used for monitoring and detecting pest activity. By inspecting the traps regularly, you can identify the type and quantity of pests in your property, which helps in developing an effective pest control strategy.
Humane Concerns: While glue traps are effective at capturing pests, there are humane concerns associated with their use. Animals caught on glue traps may suffer stress, injury, or even death. It's important to check traps frequently and release trapped animals when possible.
Disposable: Once a glue trap has captured pests or has become too soiled, it is typically disposed of. Most glue traps are single-use and should be replaced as needed.
Outdoor Use: Some glue traps are designed for outdoor use, targeting pests like garden insects and rodents. These traps are weather-resistant and can be placed in gardens, lawns, or other outdoor areas where pests are a problem.
Effectiveness: The effectiveness of glue traps varies depending on the type of pest and the quality of the trap. They are generally more effective for insects and smaller rodents than for larger animals like rats.
Usage Considerations: When using glue traps, it's important to consider the specific pest problem, proper trap placement, and local regulations regarding the use of such traps.
In summary, glue traps are a pest control tool that uses sticky adhesives to capture and control pests such as insects and rodents. They are easy to use, non-toxic, and can be effective for monitoring and managing pest infestations, but they also raise humane concerns and should be used with care and responsibility.

User questions & answers
Question: | will it catch large lizards |
Answer: | I catch lizards in them all the time here in Florida. I'm not sure they're attracted to the scent though. I only seem to catch them walking through high traffic areas. I also catch baby snakes constantly. |
Question: | What is the size of the sticky area on each trap |
Answer: | The " is equal to an inch (imperial writing) check your U.S. Ruler length and yes that is a size, 6" inches by 8" inches is a good size for mice, I will staple or duct tape a few together for a RAT size all together and hope the sticky stuff is tough enough. |
Question: | The release paper won't peel off the trap. Is there some way to peel it off |
Answer: | return them as defective because they must be old .. they should peel off with ease .. |
Question: | I just purchased these and need to know when once 'opened' how long is one of the boards sticky? Forever, or do they dry up and get hard after a time |
Answer: | The adhesive on these traps will remain intact for a year in typical conditions, assuming the trap does not fill with dust or pests quickly. If the trap is full or placed in a dusty environment, we recommend replacing it. If the trap appears dusty or covered with debris it is time to replace the trap. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thank you for choosing Catchmaster! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are these scent free |
Answer: | yes scent free |
Question: | Has anyone used these for bed bugs thats what they are supposedly for |
Answer: | they are not for bed bugs .. they are for small rodents and insects and spiders. use bedlam plus for bedbugs . there are no glue boards for bedbugs except some thing called climb up that goes around your beds round legs . so its a circle sticky traps but they cost a lot and not worth it . especially if you already have bedbugs. |
Question: | can you put bait on the trap |
Answer: | We do not recommend the use of baits with our Glue Board products, as our Glue Tray is already scented and designed to attract pests without bait. Oil based producs, like cheese and peanut butter, in particular, will compromise the integrity of the glue and decrease the effectiveness of the trap. Let us know if you need any more information. Question: | why do some come with the word MAX on the sticky side and not catchmaster. Are they different? i mean its different from other peoples pictures |
Answer: | I just received my order. Although the word "MAX" is on the product so is 72MB. Catchmaster uses MAX in there product. Here is the link to the manufactures series. Appears to me the seller has an accurate description. http://catchmasterpro.com/products/72mb-series-mouse-glue-boards-3/ |

Question: | Does it kill the mouse when trapped |
Answer: | Our glue is pesticide free and does not kill mice upon contact. If a live mouse is found on board it can be released in a humane fashion by adding any oil based product to the glue. Thank you for choosing Catchmaster! |
Question: | are these the smaller glue boards?? why don't the company say so..or else face multiple re-funds and bad comments |
Answer: | Yes, these are fairly small. I prefer larger glue boards and didn't realize these were significantly smaller. There are also things printed on them such as a small mouse and an insect. I really don't like them and won't order again. |
Question: | Is it really necesary to put an image of a mouse on them, makes you think one is on them? Not pleasant |
Answer: | You’re right I don’t like looking at a rat pictured on there either, should be solid white. That glue patch catches a lot of bugs |
Question: | My glue on this melted onto my window sill. How can I remove the glue on the window sill |
Answer: | In case of contact with adhesive, use vegetable or mineral oil to remove from skin or non-target animals. For floors, windows or other non-porous surfaces you can use oil or mineral spirits. If the glue comes on contact with material we recommend using a dry cleaner. User questions & answers
Question: | It's my 3rd order & last if i don't catch these rats. disappointed. glue isnt strong enough & they escape after. are these defective |
Answer: | I can't answer your question but I would suggest not using the bait cups. Just smear a little peanut butter or put a piece of a hot dog on the trap. |
Question: | Does the glue kill the rodent |
Answer: | Yes, you could tape or zip tie. But they are very sensitive and kill rats if they trip them. |
Question: | Does this work for snakes |
Answer: | Not sure but they don’t work too good. |
Question: | How well do these work outside |
Answer: | If you had this trap outside, you probably got a larger animal, or a larger rodent by the leg and dragged it off, if the trap comes down on their head, they are done. I had one go missing as well. Did get rid of my problem. Try to secure the trap in an area so it can't be dragged off. Also another instance, you may have trapped your rodent and another animal picked it up to eat it and dragged it off. |

User questions & answers
Question: | You’re okay with this |
Answer: | Just set them out along the trail. I put three down on the trail about 12 inches apart. I actually waited to see if they would go in and take the bait. The ants took about a day to take it. Each day you can see less and less of the ants and they move a lot slower until on the 4th or 5th day when you don't see them anymore. I kept the bait out an extra week just in case and did not see the ants in that area again until the following year. |
Question: | Mice tend to move traps under the furniture. Is there a way to attach thin rope to trap or somehow prevent it from moving |
Answer: | Combat Roach Killing Bait Strips should be replaced every 3 months, or sooner if you are seeing roaches come back. They may be depleted the bait on the strips depending on the size of your infestation. |
Question: | Do they work in cold weather |
Answer: | Never tried the one for outdoor or garden |
Question: | are the tomcat super hold rat traps weather resistant |
Answer: | Combat Roach Killing Bait Strips are formulated for pests the size of the bug. Larger animals could get GI distress from ingestion. |

Question: | will these boards trap ants |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will these only catch 1 mouse at a time? Most times you'll have more than 1 mouse. And how did you then dispose of the vermin? Toss in a garbage bag |
Question: | Is it 5 boxes and 10 traps to a box |
Answer: | We do not recommend the use of baits with our Glue Board products, as our Glue Tray is already scented and designed to attract pests without bait. Oil based producs, like cheese and peanut butter, in particular, will compromise the integrity of the glue and decrease the effectiveness of the trap. Let us know if you need any more information. I have had family members bitten by rattlers and it is a painful, extensive stay in hospital. |
Question: | Do they work on Gnomes |
Answer: | In case of contact with adhesive, use vegetable or mineral oil to remove from skin or non-target animals. For floors, windows or other non-porous surfaces you can use oil or mineral spirits. If the glue comes on contact with material we recommend using a dry cleaner. Please let us know if you require more assistance. Thank you for choosing Catchmaster! |
