12 best glue for mouse trap
Glue traps for mice are a type of pest control device designed to capture and immobilize rodents, primarily mice, using a sticky adhesive. Here's what you should know about glue for mouse traps:
Purpose: The primary purpose of glue traps for mice is to catch and control rodent infestations in homes, businesses, and other locations. These traps are designed to capture mice alive by immobilizing them on a sticky surface.
Adhesive: The glue used in mouse traps is a strong, sticky adhesive that is spread across the surface of the trap. It is designed to hold mice in place once they come into contact with it. The adhesive is non-toxic to humans and pets, making it a safer alternative to some other rodent control methods.
Use: Glue traps are typically flat or folded cardboard or plastic sheets with adhesive on one side. They are placed in areas where mice are likely to travel, such as along walls, in attics, basements, or other rodent pathways. When a mouse steps onto the trap, it becomes stuck to the adhesive.
Non-Lethal: One of the advantages of glue traps is that they are non-lethal. They capture mice without using poisons or snap mechanisms that can harm or kill the rodents. This allows for the release of the trapped mouse, preferably at a safe distance from the property.
Monitoring and Control: Glue traps can be used for both monitoring and control of mouse infestations. By inspecting the traps regularly, property owners can assess the extent of the problem and take appropriate action, such as sealing entry points or using additional traps.
Humane Release: For those who prefer a humane approach, mice can be released from glue traps by using vegetable oil or a similar substance to dissolve the adhesive. This should be done carefully to avoid harming the mouse.
Effectiveness: Glue traps are effective at capturing mice, but their success depends on proper placement and monitoring. They work best in areas with high mouse activity and can be less effective in locations with abundant food sources or nesting areas.
Safety: While the adhesive used in glue traps is generally non-toxic to humans and pets, it's essential to use them with caution. Avoid placing traps in areas accessible to children and pets, and always follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Disposal: Once a glue trap has captured a mouse, it should be disposed of properly. Some traps are designed for single-use and can be thrown away with the trapped mouse. Others can be cleaned and reused.
In summary, glue traps for mice are a pest control method designed to capture mice alive using a sticky adhesive. They are non-lethal and can be used for monitoring and control of rodent infestations. Proper placement, monitoring, and disposal are important to ensure their effectiveness and humane use.

User questions & answers
Question: | will it catch large lizards |
Answer: | I catch lizards in them all the time here in Florida. I'm not sure they're attracted to the scent though. I only seem to catch them walking through high traffic areas. I also catch baby snakes constantly. |
Question: | What is the size of the sticky area on each trap |
Answer: | The " is equal to an inch (imperial writing) check your U.S. Ruler length and yes that is a size, 6" inches by 8" inches is a good size for mice, I will staple or duct tape a few together for a RAT size all together and hope the sticky stuff is tough enough. |
Question: | The release paper won't peel off the trap. Is there some way to peel it off |
Answer: | return them as defective because they must be old .. they should peel off with ease .. |
Question: | I just purchased these and need to know when once 'opened' how long is one of the boards sticky? Forever, or do they dry up and get hard after a time |
Answer: | The adhesive on these traps will remain intact for a year in typical conditions, assuming the trap does not fill with dust or pests quickly. If the trap is full or placed in a dusty environment, we recommend replacing it. If the trap appears dusty or covered with debris it is time to replace the trap. Question: | Does it kill the mouse when trapped |
Answer: | Our glue is pesticide free and does not kill mice upon contact. If a live mouse is found on board it can be released in a humane fashion by adding any oil based product to the glue. Thank you for choosing Catchmaster! |
Question: | are these the smaller glue boards?? why don't the company say so..or else face multiple re-funds and bad comments |
Answer: | Yes, these are fairly small. I prefer larger glue boards and didn't realize these were significantly smaller. There are also things printed on them such as a small mouse and an insect. I really don't like them and won't order again. |
Question: | Is it really necesary to put an image of a mouse on them, makes you think one is on them? Not pleasant |
Answer: | You’re right I don’t like looking at a rat pictured on there either, should be solid white. That glue patch catches a lot of bugs |
Question: | My glue on this melted onto my window sill. How can I remove the glue on the window sill |
Answer: | In case of contact with adhesive, use vegetable or mineral oil to remove from skin or non-target animals. For floors, windows or other non-porous surfaces you can use oil or mineral spirits. If the glue comes on contact with material we recommend using a dry cleaner. Please let us know if you require more assistance. Thank you for choosing Catchmaster! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will it also catch a snake in my lanai |
Answer: | YES! After one week, checked trap. Laid 2 side-by-side. One had a mouse, other a snake trying to get to the mouse! Works! |
Question: | will they work on lizards |
Answer: | I live in FL where these wonderful creatures abound in abundance! They work GREAT for catching small lizards - largest lizard measured approximately 5" in length - I think these work terrific! I place them in my garage, my large storage shed, and my enclosed lanai! They also work for large roaches - yuk!!! I purchase Tomcat Mouse Size Glue Traps in large quantities! |
Question: | What do you use to pick up the glue tray with the mouse stuck to it |
Answer: | This is totally personal preference. Sometimes the mouse is dead when you find it, sometimes it's not. I would not put it anywhere that another animal or child could get to. If it's already dead, no problem, just throw it in the trash you are taking out. If it's not dead you choose what bothers you the least and make it quick or out of site. Either way, anything that touches the glue will get stuck to it and you'll need goo be gone to get it off efficiently. These are the most effective mouse traps I've used. I paid an extermination company a lot of money and they caught zero mice. I bought a bunch of these traps and put them in the mouse running paths and caught all of them. Hope this helps. |
Question: | what size are they ... product shows 0.6 x 0.6 x 4.9 inches does not seem right |
Answer: | The dimensions are closer to 3" X 4.5". |

User questions & answers
Question: | Any chance these work on wasps |
Answer: | It will catch anything that touches it including a bird by accident. I don't know if wasps would be attracted to the peanut butter scent but if you place it where they are likely come in contact with it they will stick to it. |
Question: | Does this attract & trap fruit flies |
Answer: | If you want to trap fruit flies, the easiest and cheapest way I've found is take a small medicine cup (usually come with children's tylenol. Pour 1/2 to 3/4 full of wine or cyder ant the fill with dish soap and viola . Your problems will be gone in 2 days |
Question: | Would dust accumulation prevent it from working properly |
Answer: | It seems to leave them less effective. The dust problem only appears to be a problem if you leave them open and flat, not closed. It also takes a while for it to gather enough dust and ultimately, lower it's effectiveness. I would say about 1 - 2 months time depending on how dusty your place is. This has been my experience but I use mine for trapping spiders and centipedes. |
Question: | How strong is the peanut-butter scent? Will you smell peanut butter when you enter the room, or is the smell very subtle |
Answer: | Hi, Our 60M Glue Boards are an unscented product. If you are looking to purchase a scented trap, our 72MB Glue Boards are peanut butter scented. Thank you for choosing Catchmaster! |

User questions & answers
Question: | what's the size of each trap |
Answer: | I would instantly freeze the clothing to see if it will become brittle enough to break apart. Once it "melts" and soaks into the fabric I assume there is nothing that can be done other than to die the shirt a darker color to cover any discoloration. |
Question: | I live in Minnesota. Can these be used when the temp. goes below freezing in the garage |
Answer: | I'm wondering is this a fake question? Most reviews are true, you may find an oddball here and there |
Question: | How to kill rat once caught |
Answer: | I don't think so. It is a pretty rigid board. |
Question: | This says it is a case of 24 traps. I am guessing there is a mistake in the listing |
Answer: | The rat only gets stuck. Use vegetable oil and a butter knife to release the animal in a local park or place away from your home. Wear gloves and be careful, but it is fast and easy. There’s no reason to murder a small animal that’s just trying to survive. Release them away from your home, and close up any gaps that are allowing them in in the first place and you’ll be fine. |
