2 best electric mouse zapper

An electric mouse zapper, commonly referred to as an electronic mouse trap, is a modern device designed to eliminate mice and rodents from indoor spaces. It operates on the principle of delivering a high-voltage shock to the rodent when it comes into contact with a charged metal plate. These traps are considered more humane compared to traditional snap traps or glue traps, as they provide a quick and relatively painless death.

Here are some key features and information about electric mouse zappers:

  1. Design: Electric mouse zappers typically consist of a plastic enclosure housing electronic components, a bait compartment, and a metal plate. The bait is placed on or near the metal plate to attract the mouse.

  2. Working Mechanism: When a mouse steps onto the metal plate while attempting to reach the bait, it completes an electrical circuit. This triggers a quick and powerful electric shock that dispatches the rodent quickly.

  3. Safety Features: Most modern electric mouse zappers come with safety features to prevent accidental shocks to humans or pets. These may include safety switches or sensors that only activate the trap when a rodent is detected.

  4. Indicator Lights: Many models have indicator lights to show when a mouse has been caught. This allows for easy disposal of the rodent.

  5. Power Source: Electric mouse zappers are typically battery-operated.They may use disposable batteries or be rechargeable, depending on the model.

  6. Effectiveness: Electric mouse zappers are generally considered to be highly effective at quickly dispatching rodents. However, their success can be influenced by factors such as proper placement, bait choice, and environmental conditions.

  7. Maintenance: After a successful catch, the trap will need to be emptied and cleaned. This involves disposing of the rodent and ensuring that the metal plate is free from debris.

  8. Placement: These traps are most effective when placed along known rodent pathways, near food sources, or in areas where droppings or gnawing marks are evident.

  9. Environmental Considerations: Electric mouse zappers do not use poisons or chemicals, making them a relatively eco-friendly option for pest control.

  10. Legal Considerations: It's important to be aware of local regulations and guidelines regarding the use of traps, especially in residential or commercial settings. Some places may have specific rules regarding the type of traps that can be used.

Remember to always handle any pest control device, including electric mouse zappers, with care and follow the manufacturer's instructions for safe and effective use.

User questions & answers

Question: Does the trap need reset after each kill? Or can it handle multiple mice? Is is safe to use outdoors? thanks
Answer: I don't know the answer, I believe when we looked you could buy all of the colors no matter what size
Question: Has this trap been reviewed on Mouse Trap Mondays
Answer: The actual FLOW I.D. on these Dramm hose ends are roughly.... 3/4'' female -0.595'', 3/4'' male 0.625'', 5/8'' female 0.500'', 5/8'' male 0.500''. A hose with Internal Expansion fittings will usually provide larger Flow I.D.'s over a traditional Crimp, unless they bump it up a size or half size over the hose I.D. .
Question: Does this work for mice too
Answer: I purchased several but I would probably never buy it again. To get it to coil you have to twist it as you coil.
Question: Will this work for squirrels
Answer: I currently don't use it for that, but I would guess that depends on the temperature of the water. It currently states that it will handle hot water up to 160 degrees.

Product description

Get rid of large-size rats quickly and effectively with the Rat Zapper Classic Rat Trap. From set-up and use through cleaning and maintenance, each zap will be a snap thanks to the easy-to-use design. This electronic trap is equipped with smart circuit technology that senses when a rodent enters it. Once inside, the rat steps on the metal plates, which completes the circuit and delivers a humane, high-voltage shock. Since rats are able to restart their hearts, the shock is applied continuously for 2 minutes to ensure higher kill rates. Unlike standard rat traps, you don’t have to touch or look at dead rodents. The rat is contained within the kill chamber, which hides it from sight, while the green indicator light lets you know when it’s time to empty. After a kill, just tip the trap to discard the dead rodent into the trash without having to touch it. A red light will blink when battery power is low. Designed for indoor use or anywhere it won’t be exposed to outdoor elements, the Rat Zapper Classic Rat Trap is perfect for placement in attics, garages, basements and sheds. The trap does not use any poisons or chemicals, but as with any electronic device, use with caution around children and pets. User questions & answers

Question: battery size
Answer: I had one once died in a wall I cut the drywall open myself disgusting, took a while to get rid of smell after cleaning. Your better off using regular traps inside so you can throw mice away, I would use poison outside away from house.
Question: Is it humane? Is it instantaneous
Answer: I saw mouse poop on the floor near the entrance to the trap, but I also found a dying mouse a few feet away. They may be mocking you, but you’ll have the last laugh
Question: Can the unit be placed in an outdoor garden
Answer: They work! I just had a 3 mice in my basement and they eat this stuff like candy. It's safe as no pet can get to it and it kills mice fast.
Question: This rat zapper does not work anymore. Every time I turn it on it just keeps buzzing for few minutes and then lights keeps blinking, any suggestions
Answer: They die in strange places sometimes, I found them in my crawlspace, my dog found a few bodies in the yard and decided they would be good chew toys. :P
