Assembly and Use:

1. Push the plastic tube into the soil and leave about 2-4 in. out of the ground. If the soil is very hard, it is best to create a hole first before attempting to push the plastic tube into the ground.

Answer:	The device makes a beeping tone about every 30 seconds. I can't answer the distance question. I can't hear it in the house with the doors and windows closed. I can hear it with the door or window open. The device is 5 feet from the window and 10 feet from the door. I don't know how far away I would have to move it in order to not hear it.
