Question:	Can it protect me if it starts to rain
Answer:	Limited protection, by that your head and upper body. If you are in a sitting position your legs will get wet. The Sport-Brella is not the size of a regular umbrella. This feedback is based on 1st hand experience at my daughter's recent soccer game. There was sort periods of heavy rain and wind. My pant legs and sandals were wet. The Sport-Brella was attached to a folder chair during the game.
Question:	Can you use this with a Kayak
Answer:	I too am interested in installing a clamp-on umbrella in a couple of new fishing kayaks. I would guess that the umbrella would clamp to the seat of the kayak, but without actually seeing if the clamp portion would work on the seat tubing, I am reticent to buy one. I have had these types of umbrellas in the past that were purchased at a local pharmacy for general use with beach chairs, but the umbrellas are long gone. I'll try Walmart for starters. I know one thing: on a hot day, it's nice to get some respite from the sun....especially when on the water. In any event, I would be happy to find an umbrella that works without interference with paddling, and one that stayed in place without having to constantly tighten the clamp.

Answer:	It doesn't have a diameter because it isn't a circle. It is somewhat kite shaped. The pole is attached 16" from the "front" edge, and 26" from the "back" edge. The pole is 21" from each side edge. Of course, since it can be rotated to block the direction the sun is coming from front and back don't really apply, maybe front should be "short" side and back the "long" side. The pole is 33" long and the clamp is made to fit a round tube like regular old aluminum tubular frame folding lawn chairs. My husband loves his for taking to sporting events and he said the only problem is that the chair will blow over when no one is sitting in it. His has fallen over many times on grass and soil and the clamp hasn't been damaged yet.
Question:	Would you be able to attach this to the chairs at beach resorts in Mexico
Answer:	I don't know what the chairs are like! If you called the hotel and asked if they had any part from your seated chest high or above the was like a bar, let's say from the with of 1" to 3" in diameter (it's for a lawn chair so like the size of a dill pickle) that you can get more than half way around 3/4 way surrounded with empty space...then it would work but if they were deck chairs, or andorondak/miskoka type no it wouldn't work it isn't a flat clamp

Question:	So some the auger is riveted on and one says it is plastic and comes off. Which is it? I want it to come off so don't have to turn whole umbrella
Answer:	You don't have to turn the whole umbrella. The umbrella's pole comes apart. The auger is attached to the bottom half of the pole, and there is a small metal rod that fits thru two holes toward the top of the pole that you use as a handle. You "screw" this part of the pole into the sand and then attach the umbrella with the upper half of the pole. We used ours last summer -- it's really very convenient and sturdy.

Answer:	To the best of my knowledge, no. Virtually all these umbrellas have one height but can be tilted (as shown) to various angles to compensate for the breeze/wind. We have always used umbrellas with more than 8 struts...they are sturdier & last longer. This one is very similar to our previous ones & they all worked well. Note: you always need a deep anchor to secure them in the sand. The short ones don't work for long.

Answer:	Dominick, thank you for your question. Yes, the BUBrella has the maximum UV Rating of 50 UPF And endorsed by the Skin Cancer Foundation. UPF relates to clothing and shelters and the maximum rating is 50 whereas SPF relates to lotion and has a maximum rating of 100.
Question:	Does the canopy angle adjust at all? How do you deal with the late afternoon sun? The base looks like you can only have the pole straight up
Answer:	Thank you for your question. There are 2 main reason for the tilt feature in a beach umbrella. The BUBrella addresses both. First, tilt features are built into beach umbrellas to help with wind resistance. The BUBrella does not need this feature to withstand 35 mph wind. Second, as the sun sets tilting the umbrella helps to shade the setting sun. The beachBUB system uses a different approach to block the rays of the setting sun. Simply tilt the umbrella and base as a single unit. In order to tilt the whole umbrella you first build the base as you normally would making sure that you completely fill and pack the sand as you fill. Insert and open the umbrella. Gently, and with constant pressure, tilt the umbrella into the suns' rays. The umbrella has been tested to tilt up to 45 degrees. When you have blocked the sun all you need to do is re-fill the base if any sand has dribbled out. Also the pyramid shape of the base may become distorted but this will not affect the performance of the base or umbrella.
Question:	Are you sure I'll be able to take the kids to the beach without my husband? I've been staying at home baking cookies and knitting when he's at work
Answer:	I understand the snark on this question, but the truth is, I have never been able to get an umbrella screwed 18-24" (the safe depth) into the sand by myself. If my husband felt at all emasculated by my choosing this umbrella, he quickly got over it on the first day when his sister's umbrella (screwed into the ground by her 6'2" tall athletic husband) blew out of the sand, knocked me over, and pinned me underneath. Meanwhile, our new BeachBub that we can BOTH put up was rock stable. Moral of the story: Get one regardless of your gender and stop being so sensitive.

Answer:	No... the screw on the umbrella is ‘wide’ , meant to pull loose sand up and away as it anchors itself deeper. You’ll snap the plastic post if you try to force it into compact ground material.
