It's important to note that while Ortho products can be helpful in managing bed bug infestations, severe infestations may require professional pest control services for thorough eradication. Additionally, bed bug control should be part of a broader strategy that includes cleaning and decluttering infested areas and regularly washing bedding and clothing in hot water.

Always read and follow the instructions on the product label when using any pest control product, and take appropriate safety precautions to protect yourself, your family, and pets. If you have a severe or persistent bed bug problem, consider consulting a pest control professional for expert assistance.

User questions & answers

Question: I can't find reviews of this product anywhere. Are there any tests published that verify their effectiveness
Answer: I just know my experience wasn’t that great. I didn’t see a lot of results using this trap.
Question: How long is the trap active? I understand if there are bugs they will be attracted within the hour. How long do the last though for left out
Answer: I do not know how long the traps last. Personally I do not feel they are that effective. It is hard to know if you have pressed the button properly due to the design and when I placed them in places I knew bugs were I did not catch many. Buy Proof spray instead
Question: How do the bedbugs enter the trap
Answer: There are little slits for these tiny bugs. It worked very well.
Question: What's the distance these cover. Will it attract bed bugs from other rooms
Answer: Not sure if it will. I put it under my bed and looked at it about a week ago. No evidence of any bedbugs in trap yet. It also stated when placing trap in place, to push red button down til you hear a click. I never did hear a click.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this kill carpet beetles
Answer: Yes, this is effective against bedbugs
Question: Is the power good to kill bedbugs
Answer: It’s like boric acid. It’s the most common thing used to kill all bugs
Question: What IS this powder? I feel like it’s illegal not to disclose that anywhere
Answer: No
Question: Will it damage leather furniture
Answer: Yes it does. Detachable blades. The cord splits easy though FYI. 2 pairs later and I switched to a cordless pair of clippers. Cord is hard to replace on these
Question: Does this Oster Outlaw have detachable blades like the black & red one??? HELP!!!! ASAP would be GREAT
Answer: Ours did
Question: does this A5 come with #10 blade plus 10 blade accessory kit that shows with bag
Answer: These clippers are loud, so cats may not respond well to them. Also, Oster clippers get hot fast, so use lots of blade coolant while using them. I am a professional groomer and although I do own these clippers and like their cut, they are not used often. Andis clippers are my go to set. Hope this helps.
Question: We have a Persian cat with very fine hair. Has anyone used these on Persians or something similar
Answer: Yes. It just leaves a bit more length.
Question: Can you use the number 10 blade with the gaurds
Answer: The clippers work by plugging its cord into a power outlet
Question: Does it work with batteries or does it already come with a power cable
Answer: I believe it took 2 AA batteries..... we ended up returning the clippers as they would not cut the hair on my schnauzer. :-(

User questions & answers

Question: Can someone explain exactly how to use it ? we are not sure we have bed bugs but my little one is getting bites everyday
Answer: Hello there. I wouldn't recommend this because is on contact spray.Plus your not sure if you have them. BUY some bed bug traps too see see if you have them first, these traps also can can be put near your bed and they are pretty cheapthey can pick up spiiders too and other things. This ORTHO STUFF IS FOR ON CONTACT USE. SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THESE BED BUGS FIRST
Question: After spraying it on the mattress how long should I wait for it to be safe for someone to sleep on it again
Answer: I have been going through this on and off all my beds are covered with protectors, so I sprayed and used hot shot bombing stuff for bed bugs so I would wait for at least 3-4 hours before remaking the bed
Question: how many treatments do I have to do to permanently get rid of bed bugs cuz I'm just starting to see them again
Answer: One won't do it! Twenty won't work either UNLESS you really go after them! People thing that "I spray and they go away" doesn't work with bed bugs. First, strip the bed, carefully packing the bedding in plastic bag(s) and ideally take them to a laundromat; the little critters are great for jumping off, do the same with all exposed clothing in the room. If you have a bad infestation, you will need to clean out ALL drawers as well as your closet; even though the clothing is clean, at least run it through twice the at the highest temperature on the big dryer at the laundromat. Next, dismantle the bed; Yes down to the frame, vacuum the carpet and carefully remove the vacuum's bag placing it in a plastic bag, then sealing. Now spray the bed frame, every corner, leg, wheel. and joint. Spray the box springs; usually they have a cheese cloth type bottom, be sure the spray gets through that and covers the inside of the springs. Check the edges of the box springs and mattress, spray ALL of the seams. Spray the top and sides of the bed springs, do the same with the mattress. If you have a headboard, spray every crack and corner. Spray the carpet under and around the bed, replace the bedding with the ones you have laundered .YES! This is a pain in the ass!!! A female bed bug lays 3 to 5 eggs a day, about 500 in her lifetime. A nymph can live up to 3 weeks before feeding. An adult, fully fed, can go up to 5 weeks. IF YOU DON'T get every little crack and corner, they will come back. The Otho is on of the better sprays, I use it to keep the bed bugs knocked down. You will, after your major attack, keep up weekly spraying, every time you change linens, for about 5 weeks. Nymph's are almost colorless until they feed. You need an UV flashlight to spot them. Fogers, the over the counter versions, really don't work unless the bed bugs are exposed. The bugs love the tuft of the mattress, seams of the sheets, and any dark corner they can find. If they have gotten inside of your mattress, no you need a pro. The mattress is placed in an "oven" until the core temperature reaches 140 degrees for 4 hours; or, zero degrees Fahrenheit for seven days. If you are in an apartment building, another unit may be the source, the can and do live in the walls. Bed bugs are attracted by the carbon dioxide we excel as well as our moisture. If you don't keep after them, you won't get rid of them. If they are coming from another unit, inform the landlord to take action. A professional will charge about $500.00 per unit to kill the bed bugs, sometimes that doesn't work.As you may have guessed, I have some experience in dealing with these little critters. Like you, I though a spray and it's all done. Due to a tenant who was the source of the infestation, it took over six weeks and commercial grade chemicals plus a "cold fogger" (which you can rent) to knock the bugs down. You may find it necessary to encase your mattress in a plastic "bag" made for such a purpose. Unless you attack and destroy the source, you will not get rid of them. A large percentage of mattresses that are thrown away have bed bug infestations. Having bed bugs don't mean your not clean, only you picked up a "hitchhiker" or two and brought them too a nice new home. Good Luck..
Question: Will this spray effect our cat after drying? She sleeps in bed with us
Answer: Short version: If you avoid getting it on your pets, and areas they contact very much, they should be fine. If you put it on areas they *directly contact alot*, or on the pet itself, it can be a big problem. The long and more complete explanation: If you spray in crevices and areas where the cat has minimal contact, you will likely be fine. This formula has two major insecticides, plus one "synergist" (that isn't a poison, but makes one of the insecticides more toxic to bugs). One of the pesticides, a pyrethroid, is *similar* to chemicals used in dog flea spray, however, it can be quite toxic to cats (https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/pyrethrinpyrethroid-poisoning-in-cats). Once it's applied, it doesn't create a vapor, so if it is on a surface that your cat doesn't contact much, it should be OK. If you spray the top of your sheets, areas the cat rubs on/scratches/walks over, fluffy might get exposed by grooming him/herself. Being careful to avoid overspray with newspapers, and applying only to the hidden areas bugs live is important for this reason. The second insecticide, imidacloprid, acts like nicotine to poison bugs, and works together with the other pesticide to kill insecticide-resistant bedbugs more effectively than either chemical alone (http://www.pctonline.com/article/pct0312-temprid-transport-insecticides-testing/). This pesticide *alone* is safe for both cats and dogs, being the active ingredient in Advantage flea control (http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=26+1303&aid=1370).

User questions & answers

Question: How often can I use hot sho
Answer: I live in a high roach/bug infested neighborhood. The first 2 years we didn't have any problems in our place, however for the last 2 years, the bugs are just getting worse. I plan to use this product as directed and repeat in a couple of weeks and just keep going until the bugs are gone.
Question: Do you have to unplug your refrigerator before using these foggers? (yes I'll be doing the kitchen
Answer: Bed Bugs are hard to kill and in order for this to be guaranteed you need to use it over and over several times in the entire house. We contacted a pest control company and they insisted that WE move all the furniture out of any rooms WE needed treated, WE wash all our clothing, towels, throws, and anything else on high heat and dry on high heat, WE remove our carpet and then after WE had done all that the pest control company would charge over a thou$and dollars. More like $1,500. And then they would come back once in 2 weeks and retreat and not guarantee it after that. In other words, You do all the work and they come in with sprays that are far more deadly than what I can buy and spray. But still no real guarantee. If I have to do all the work and still no guarantee, I'm going to do the work and use these bed bug bombs for several months (2 weeks apart) and get a superior job (including new flooring) than would be worth the "pro" coming in. And yes. The pest control company will tell you it doesn't work because they need a couple thou$and dollar$ out of you.
Question: If my pilot for the water heater is in the basement and I'm not using the fogger there, do I have to shut if off
Answer: I didn't turn any of my pilots or water heater off so I don't think you need to worry
Question: Will it going to kill eggs? Bedbug
Answer: It appears to be more steroids rather than extermination. I have used 150 cans, the powder, and the gallon plastic containers for a number of years. Diatimatious Earth works on crawling insects including Bed Bugs but will not get to the eggs. The food grade powder is available in 1 pound bags through Amazon. Not only does it dehydrate bags that crawl across but has safe, medicinal value through human ingestions. The foggers leave a residue on everything. The air with the fog is most unpleasant for me but the Bed Bugs appear to love it. The low sticky boards are much better but an insect or rodent must crawl across the board. I have more than 50 of the cardboard three pack boxes left. I placed the fogger on the opened (flattened) boxes. Then discard the card board after a few uses. After possible 4-5 years I just finished with the last gallon liquid Hot Shot Bedbug container and started with an other product I purchased on Amazon. Very expensive but if it works will actually be cheap in total dollar cost. The D.E. powder is something you can ingest if food grade but you will need masks and a separate vacuum as the D.E. will clog a regular vacuum.

User questions & answers

Question: How long do you keep it down before vacuuming it all up
Answer: We went out of town for the weekend . We came back to vacuum it up and it was a total mess. It was like vaccuuming wet flour. Gummed up everything and took hours to clean the carpet. Our carpet felt like a hair brush after we finally got it all up. It was soft and fluffy before using it.
Question: Is it safe
Answer: We've found it very safe
Question: Do this power kill eggs and adults instantly
Answer: It takes a day or 2 to kill them with this product. The diatomaceous earth in it dehydrates them so it takes time. If you clean your house really good, use a bed bug spray, then apply this after the spray has dried it should take care of your bed bug problem
