User questions & answers

Question: Can this be used under fruit trees ie. Apple, pears, blueberries etc?? I need to be 100% sure and would like responses fro those whom are certain
Answer: I always want to give good information on this poisen. I can not answer your question. I use Bayer poisen for the yard and around the headges and for flea controll. I contacted Bayer about useing it during the hot summer months in Fl when the tempature reaches above 90*; Bayer informed me that it stops killing insects above 90*. For fruit trees you need to call their 800 # and ask them or your county Agracultrial Agent. Have a safe growing season. Dallas
Question: Will this work in flower beds with weed fabric and ceder mulch on top? Worried it won't get down to the grubs
Answer: This substance is a solvent. it will eventually dissolve and absolve in ground, so it would work when spread over mulch.
Question: does this kill chiggers? the normal insect killers won't work because they're arachnids, but noticed it does kill spiders and ticks
Answer: Yes it specifically lists chiggers as a pest it will control. Thanks for considering your purchase from Amazon through AgCareDirect.
Question: will this kill honeybees
Answer: Thats a good QUESTION. I dont know I would call Bayer and talk to them. Also make sure you read the MSDS INFORMATION and the instructions on how to speead it. Bayer is good for killing fleas and ticks. It lasts three months and use it untill the out door temps hit 90* or above. I live in Jax Fl. I use a comertial pest controll service year round and I have them spray for fleas during the 90* hot summer months. Comertial liquid poisen kills the fleas and ticks above 90*. I either just dump the bag in my spreader or sometimes use rubber gloves and speead it around the foundation of my house to kill roaches before they have a chance to get in. Also, BAYER does not kill anything if you use it during the hot days of summer when the tempature is above 90*. I called Bayer and read it on the MSDS sheet. Hope I helped you out. I was a Hamat Tech when I was a Firefighter now I am retired. Have a good spring.

User questions & answers

Question: is this biodegradable
Answer: I question your competency. Yes it is biodegradable
Question: How often is reapplication needed
Answer: Here in Western PA we have been having some serious rain issues. I don't doubt the manufacturers specs on the package about using the product every ninety days. However, in my case? About three days after application we had RAIN. The resulting plethora of gnats, skeeter's, flies, no-see-ums" leads me to doubt the product was invented by Noah and could survive a flood. So, if the rain is scheduled to leave for at least a week. I will re-apply. I have had great success with Ortho products in the past.
Question: Can pets be in the yard
Answer: I put it out in my yard and let my dogs loose in the yard couple of hours later and they were fine. I also have a few stray cats that were go though my yard and lay around in my yard and they were fine also.
Question: Does this kill millipedes? We figured in we got infested outside after buying garden plants at one of the big box garden stores
Answer: More than likely, centipedes are listed on the bag among what it kills so i would imagine it does.

Product features

Ants

Ants are common pests throughout the world. They are a nuisance, largely because of the annoyance caused by their presence - constructing mounds in the lawn or invading the home from the yard in search of food.

Fleas

Adult fleas are no larger than 1/8 inch long. They are reddish-brown, wingless insects that are laterally compressed, so they look as if they are walking on edge.

Ticks

Although ticks are commonly thought of as insects, they are actually arachnids like spiders and mites. They have 4 pairs of legs and no antennae. They lie in wait for a passing deer, pet, or person to walk near the shrub or grass they are perched on.

Spiders

Spiders can be found throughout the country. If you have the occasional fly or gnat in the house, chances are you’ll also have spiders in the house. Spiders live on bugs, but not enough to be considered for pest control.

Chinch Bugs

Adult chinch bugs are about one-fifth of an inch long and black with white wings folded over their backs. Chinch bugs feed on many kinds of lawn grasses, but St. Augustine grass and Zoysia grass are favorites.

Cutworms

If you see spots of brown grass and birds pecking at your lawn, you could be facing a cutworm infestation.

Mole Crickets

Mole crickets can be twice as long as their singing cousins - and their tunneling can ruin your lawn.

Sod Webworms

Sod webworms are the larvae of lawn moths. They live in the root level of your lawn and munch up the grass leaves. At root level, you’ll see small white tubes made of silky web. At dusk, you might even see the worms themselves.

Spectracide Triazicide Insect Killer Products

There’s an army of insects out there looking for the next lawn or garden to feast on. Don’t let them turn the fruits of your labor into an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Spectracide Triazicide Insect Killer products are formulated for broad-spectrum control of outdoor insects, whether you’re controlling pests in your lawn, garden or landscape. They even take care of bugs below ground, leaving plant-munching insects with nowhere to hide.

How do you know if you have insect damage?

In the heat of summer, we all have brown patches in our lawns. If it’s irregular or mottled, the browning could be a symptom of lawn pests. To test, pick a spot in the affected area of your lawn and spread the grass blades so the surface roots are visible – this will give you a good view of turf-feeding bugs. If the browning is fairly uniform over your entire lawn, it’s most likely caused by hot and dry weather.

Aphids

These green, yellow, brown, red or black pear-shaped insects with long legs and antennae aren’t easily disturbed. They suck plant juices out of the leaves, stems or roots of plants.

Ticks

In the same family as scorpions and spiders, these tiny arachnids are blood-feeding parasites found in tall grass. They carry infections such as Lyme disease, and females inflate from flat insects to oval shape after feeding.

Fleas

Found primarily on pets, fleas are just 3/16 inch long, but they carry several diseases, including typhus, bubonic plague and tapeworm. They usually appear in clusters of two or three on human ankles or legs or anywhere on pets.

Japanese beetles

A constant source of aggravation for gardeners, Japanese

beetles eat 300 types of trees and plants. Metallic green with coppery brown wing covers, these 3/8 inch-long creatures are often found around homes and gardens, attacking flowers, fruits and lawns.

Grub control

The tough lawn grub can cause real damage to your lawn and landscape. Whitish and c-shaped, grubs feed on grass roots, making lawns incapable of drawing necessary water and nutrients from the soil. Grubs are highly active during the summer – adult females generally lay their eggs in the soil during July, and the newly hatched grubs begin to feed on turf roots in early August, causing grass to die off in irregular patches.

For grub control, use Spectracide Triazicide Insect Killer products in late spring, then again in the fall if a second generation appears.

User questions & answers

Question: Can you use this in vegetable garden
Answer: You probably "could" use it to prevent/kill grubs (and other insects), but probably should not use it in your garden(s) if you intend to eat the veggies you grow, since it IS a chemical. Grubs typically won't eat most veggie or flower roots anyway as they tend to be a bit "hard" and "biter" for grubs liking, so you shouldn't even need to use any in your veggie or flower beds or garden areas, they do however enjoy grass roots as they tend to be much thinner, softer and "sweeter" to grubs, so use it only on your lawn/grass. You can also heavily apply this product and NOT worry about any lawn damage. I double the recommended spreader setting and it never negatively affects my lawn and I never get grubs anymore. Good Luck!
Question: will it harm earthworms
Answer: Grubex will not harm earthworms, nematodes or soil bacteria and does not pose a health risk to wildlife when applied according to label instructions.
Question: Can I use with crabgrass preventer
Answer: Yes, you can apply at the same time, I have for years! I apply this product each year 7 to 10 days after the LAST frost (usually early to mid March in my area of NYC), that way the soil has started to soften up and the products can get down and do their job, at the same time I apply a "Scotts" brand Crabgrass Pre-Emergent (which only kills/prevents SOME weed types) and so I also throw down a broader spectrum weed n feed to combat most/all other types of weeds and I also get a lawn food and a soil food down as well and I always overseed heavily each fall. Since figuring out my lawn and soil, what it needs and what works best for me, I have not had any grub or carbgrass issues in about 12 years. Good Luck
Question: Does this kill Vine Weevil grubs? Thank you
Answer: GrubEx1 will control the grub larvae of following insects: Japanese beetles, Asiatic garden beetles, Black turfgrass ataenius, Aphodius spp., European chafers, Green June beetles, May/June beetles, Northern masked chafers, Oriental beetles, Southern masked chafers, Caterpillars (including Armyworms, Cutworms, Sod websorms), Billbug grubs and crane fly larvae (including European Crane Flies). It will also suppress chinchbugs.

Answer: The Complete Insect Killer is only for use on lawns and around building foundations to control listed pests. User questions & answers

Question: can I use this spray for the fruit trees
Answer: I would not its for lawns and might not be good for fruit trees or vegetables. for fungus try, Daconil Fungicide Concentrate 16 oz. . Insects try, Ortho Flower, Fruit and Vegetable Insect Killer Concentrate, 32-Ounce or insecticidal soaps . if you will eat anything you spray.
Question: How long after applying can you use a fertilizer like weed and feed
Answer: Hello, because this product is intended to be used around cracks and crevices and deals with fungus and insect control, it shouldn't have any affect on your application of weed and feed. Please keep in mind this product should be used in very limited ways, ie., avoid runoffs, and try to apply it so it does not affect bee activity. Immunox can be re-applied every couple of weeks when needed.
Question: Does it work for grubs
Answer: Short answer: No, it is not effective for grubs. I used to use Spectracide's Immunox for treatment and prevention of lawn fungus, until they put a broad spectrum insecticide in there. The Immunox currently sold will not only treat Fungus and insect pests, but will kill beneficial and vital insects like bees, ladybugs, butterflies, preying mantids, etc. So there is no longer any good reason to use Immunox. For Fungus, consider one of the generic offerings of Propaconizole offered here at Amazon and elsewhere. Very effective and gentle on the lawn. For grubs, consider Bayer "24 Hour Grub Killer Plus" with Dylox. Apply it when grubs are active, and water it in heavily right away. It is extremely and quickly effective, and then degrades in 48 hours to a week so that you do not have long lasting effects on beneficial insects. Only if you can keep it out of your gardens and flowering trees, you can use Merit or Adonis for season long control of grubs in your lawn.
Question: will this be safe for Zoysia grass
Answer: Zoysia is a turf grass as is St Augustinegrass so it should work. Do a little more research.

User questions & answers

Question: Does it kill cucumber beetles
Answer: Check the ortho site for a complete list of what it’ll kills.
Question: Does it kill larva
Answer: I don't know if it kills larva, but it didn't kill any live bugs. It also leaked so much from the hose connection that it was unusable. Do not buy this product.
Question: Can this be sprayed on the house/siding? We have a ton of spiders around windows, doors, soffits
Answer: Keep in mind that Spiders are not usually affected by chems unless it is sprayed directly on them. They do not clean themselves or put their 'feet' on this body or head so the chemicals have no way to get to the body to kill them. A pest control guy told me this, he said basically get out the de-weber for spiders or spray them directly. They can walk on chems without injury. I agree with the guy about granules, especially when it is going to rain. rain tends to wash all water-based chems away and oil-based is illegal. But granules will stay mostly potent and take longer to wash away. I tested granules with ants. it was amazing, as soon as the ant touched the granules they started to walk like they were slow and drunk until they died. One-touch and that was it so I make a barrier of granules, and if they cross the barrier they are dead. Ortho Granules are cheap and effective when properly used. I even put it in my grass spreader and go over the lawn and back yard and field for extra protection. Of course like all chems, once you spray it on a surface any disturbance to the surface, breaks the barrier just like when spraying a pre-treat for termites before pouring the foundation, if some idiot walks on the ground before they pour it breaks the barrier and makes it worthless in that spot.
Question: Is this pet friendly
Answer: Yes, one of the reasons I buy this is not only does it work well, BUT it is child and pet friendly once it dries!!

If you have the occasional fly or gnat in the house, chances are you'll also have spiders in the house. Spiders live on bugs, but not enough to be considered for pest control.

Mosquitoes

There are about 200 different species of mosquitoes in the United States, all of which live in specific habitats, exhibit unique behaviors and bite different types of animals.

Japanese Beetles

Japanese beetles are 3/5 of an inch long and metallic green with copper-brown wing covers. Their larvae, a white grub, are 3/4 inch in length. They emerge from the soil as early as late May and feed on plants throughout the summer.

Cutworms

If you see spots of brown grass and birds pecking at your lawn, you could be facing a cutworm infestation.

Stink Bugs

This pest gives off a bad odor when threatened. Swarms can invade homes and devastate gardens.
