Answer: You can slide the one in front; to move the middle and back one, you can slide, but probably need to hold down the base. It is much much easier to lift them out from the top.

Answer: I don’t think it is boa free. It’s heavy duty plastic and I don’t recall seeing boa free on the packaging.
