Answer:	can this awning be attached to a soffit?
Question:	before purchasing, I wanted to make sure it is waterproof because I wanted to keep out the rain
Answer:	I never leave it out in the rain, mainly because of the wind. They do suggest, however, that you can waterproof it by spraying it with Scotchguard or similar product and letting it dry before installation.

Answer:	All hardware is included if you are securing it to brick, cement or stone, but we installed it into cement fiber siding, so we purchased a 2x6x10 piece of treated lumber, secured that to the siding, then secured the awning bracket to the wood using lag screws and washers. It is very sturdy. We also put a piece of flashing and caulking on top the lumber piece, to ensure no water (rain) would come into the space between the siding and the lumber. It took a bit more time, but it's worth it if you want to have the awning for a long time. In all, the job took about 4 hours. ( 2 people working). Good luck!
Question:	how do you clean the awning
Answer:	I have found using a water softening detergent preferably a powder base or a clear liquid (no dye) works great in a 5 gallon bucket of warm water. The mix ratio is 1/2 cup of softener to one gallon of water with a soft bristle brush preferably a pole brush. Keep the awning wet while washing it down then rinse and allowed to dry. Now if you have rain stains I have found using a car washing detergent works great with the water softening detergent. ratio mix is three caps to one gallon of water. Just a quick warning: do not use dish soap or liquid chlorinated detergents will cause the fabric to dry out and become brittle in time. In the hot Texas heat during the summer time I do this about every 2 months to keep material pliable and flexible.

Answer:	Less you or someone you know ate mechanically inclined, I would stay away from this awning. Mine came with no instructions; customer Service sent me the wrong instructions when I called them; And, once I found the closest instructions a lot of little details were missing. My awning is the three arm with a cassette that you cannot find instructions for. Customer Service sent me instructions for a two-arm cassette but there are wa lot of nuances to adding a third section. FYI, the 16’ x 10’ model is what I purchased. Good luck!

Answer:	Yhis awning is 8 feet wide as the dimensions states which should meet your needs.

Answer:	My siding is cement board over OSB. It works fine. It will also (obviously) work with wood siding. If your siding is vinyl, however, there must be some solid material to support the brackets.

Answer:	The answer is yes, but you should be sure you have the correct match motor model for 120V and the correct set of parts... I bought our Aleko motor set on Amazon. Aleko purchases these awnings & motor kits overseas in China and re-brands them as Aleko. I have seen a few Sellers on eBay advertise "similar" motors on eBay with an incomplete set of parts, they claimed the parts will work with Aleko Awnings, but the parts were for a different manufacturer/model . Aleko mainly provides tech support for items purchased from their company based upon customer info found in their company database. I suggest you need to be sure the Seller is authorized by Aleko to sell their kits and parts, otherwise tech support and warranty concerns may not be available when you need them.

Question:	What about mounting brackets, soffet or wall mount
Answer:	I used the wall mount option and it works great for me. The system was easy to install and adjust. I'm very satisfied with my system. One thing to consider in bracket placement is structural support. The wall studs will normally give you better support.
