Answer:	Description says it is made of hemlock wood (similar to pine) with a natural fir finish. The fir finish looks like a very light shade of stain.

We do use ASTM standards and rate our furniture for residential use at 300 pounds and commercial use at 400 pounds. We manufacture our furniture to at least have a weight limit of 250 pounds. Answer:	They are made of wood so they are not weather proof. However, the wood is resistant to weather, similar to how cedar fencing would resist. You could also put stain or water seal on the chairs.

Answer:	No. And the chair is rather small for an Adirondack chair. I returned the two I ordered and ordered this: https://www.costco.com/portside-3-piece-shellback-adirondack-set.product.100381923.html. I bought the set when it was $140 off, which apparently happens about once a year. Way nicer.

Answer:	Hi Milo, We have been working hard to test all of our furniture to weight limits. Unfortunately, this chair has not been tested yet. We do use ASTM standards and rate our furniture for residential use at 300 pounds and commercial use at 400 pounds. We manufacture our furniture to at least have a weight limit of 250 pounds. What makes Montana Woodworks furniture unique.

Our logs are harvested in the Kootenai National Forest with Lodge Pole Pine chosen due to its superior strength and because it is generally straighter. Montana Woodworks prohibits the use of heavy equipment in the harvest of our logs as machinery would damage the surface texture of our timber. After harvesting the standing dead timber, the logs are stored until sufficiently dry for use in the building of our furniture. We use the mortise and tenon style joint for maximum strength. For the tenon, or the peg, we use a machine called a 'Log Woofer' which works much like a very large pencil sharpener leaving a tapered end. We carefully sand each piece of furniture before, during, and after the assembly process to smooth the furniture’s surface ensures the highest quality product possible. During the assembly process, we apply a powerful adhesive into the mortise, or the hole, before joining the two pieces. After assembly, the items are again sanded and carefully re-inspected.
