It works as a regular night light normally and if the power goes off it will switch to AA batteries and keep the night lite on. The article says the batteries have a life of about 250 hours. Since it uses regular AA batteries they might need to be replaced probably once every year or so. I can tell you from experience that they are nice to have in case the power goes off at night. Answer:	I used two 30lb picture hooks nailed in and 2 stainless steel cable key rings under the desk. Seems to work perfectly

Answer:	Hello, not that much, it helps a little bit, but the main issue is the height, when you put it is almost over the floor, to really make it comfortable, and is not worth the effort. I used it on a multiple trips but, by the end of the Trip I stopped using it. Not worth it. I think something like a stool helps more.
