Why does the patriot 9hp honda, weigh almost double the 6.5hp briggs/stratton? 140lb v/s 72.8lb

Answer:

The blades as stated in the owners manual should have a "pulling action" bringing the materials into the machine. You will notice the difference in the feed because there will be more "pushing" involved. The machine will continue to operate and chip the material well after the blades are beyond optimum sharpness. I recall that I let my first blades with the factory edge go a long time. It's a great machine (I've had mine like 20 years and you won't find a chipper easier to store.) Note: even though blades will continue to "do the job" when not ideally sharp, as with any tool it is good not to let them go to the point where the blades begin to deteriorate. Inspection is very easy. All you have to do is remove the feed cone (3 1/2 inch nuts) and rotate the rotor and the blades are right there to view and feel the edge. You don't want chips to start in the blade. If you do keep up with it you can do the job with a sharpening stone as opposed to the expense and bother of a wheel, or having them done professionally. Answer:	Based on my experience so far, you should be fine if you keep the branches under 2" in diameter. There's only so much a 6HP engine can do. I've fed it dogwood, Maple, and eucalyptus and it only really struggled with the eucalyptus.

Answer:	Hi: I am not sure your comparing apples with apples. The shipping weight is not the same as the unit weight. Both units ship in two boxes. One box is 21 x 21 x 23 and the second box is 24 x 26 x 28. With both units the smaller box weight the same amount 32 lbs. The large box for the CBV-3065B weighs 121 lbs. Question:	How long would it take to chip a cubic yard of chips
Answer:	I live in the Ozarks and have about 5 acres. My land is hilly but not super steep. Also I am 76 but in good physical shape. I can move mine around without super difficulty. After the first couple of years I purchased the optional tow bar as I have a couple of lawn tractors. But if my area was not large enough to warrant a lawn tractor I certainly would not need to tow it.

Answer:	This could not be used to shred foam.
Question:	How is this different from the cj602e? better cutting blades
Answer:	As long as it fits down the chute, it will chip most things. I've found smaller twigs and leaves pass without being chipped or shredded very well. Depending on the size and rigidity of the succulent plant matter, your success will vary. The best luck I've had is with green wood that is between a quarter inch and 1.5 inches. Smaller than that and it seems to be able to pass through the blade slit. Larger than that and it can jam or bog the motor. The dryer woods also tend to be 'dryer/harder' on the blades and motor. I don't imagine succulents will stress the machine, but depending on the thickness and size, you may struggle to get them to cut instead of just pass through the blade slit.
Question:	Both this model and the cj602e have 15a motors but this one can chip larger sticks? what are the differences between this and its cheaper predecessor
Answer:	It shredded some bamboo before it got jammed and I had to remove the blade cover and unjam the chipper. Took me a good 30 minutes to figure why it wouod turn on for 10 seconds before it shut down.

Answer:	Not tried privet hedge, did very well with fir tree clippings and branches. The branches handled were over 1.5IN and it just chipped away. Very pleased with this purchase, not the cheapest shredder but works extremely well.

Answer:	This device is pretty strictly a chipper and does not do any shredding. Depending on the size of the mulch/nuggets it would definitely chip them down in to finer pieces, but you'd really need to control how many you put in at a time. Also there is an adjustment to where you can tighten it down to chip smaller pieces, but you'll just have to experiment to see what works best and gets you the smallest chips without clogging/stopping the device.

Question:	whats the difference between a 850 & 950 engine
Answer:	Dear customer: This shredder works on Bamboo stalks, but it depends on its size and dryness. The dry wood turns into sawdust basically, the more wet wood will create larger pieces – The combination of dry and more wet wood makes the best chipped output mixture. Also bear in mind, do NOT use fresh wood that is still green – it needs to dry out for a few days otherwise it can become gummy in the shredder and ruin the mechanism/blades. You can’t do big branches over 1.77″ – so large logs won’t go in – don’t even try, and you can’t get them into the slot anyway. You will know what you can put in based on the hole size at the top slot. If you have branches that have offshoots going in all crazy directions, clip those off so that they don’t cause issues with the chipper sucking in the branch. Answer:	Yes, it will handle dry straw, when fed through the chute for small twigs and leaves. However, the degree to which it shreds is not very fine...it does a reasonable job. NOTE: do not "force-feed."

Answer:	To preface this response, it would depend what is the characteristics of the hypothetical cubic yard of material. This response assumes that it is composed of a variety of "fresh" branches and twigs of no greater than 2-1/2" in diameter & everything is pruned to feed easily into the hopper. Also, the knives are sharp. The simple answer is it would chip pretty darn fast...maybe 20 minutes. Once the chipper gets going, given the above, it will quickly pull the material in and chip it quickly. If one has someone else to help hand the material to the operator, it will take even less time. In summation, that chipper quickly and easily chips branches and twigs.

Answer:	The collection bag has a wide opening and is pretty easy to empty. The problem with trying to fill yard bags directly is the air flow. Wood chipper bags allow the air from the chipper to flow through the bag.
