Answer: I thought it did fine this year when I had about 9 or 10 inches of snow. In fact it operated quite smoothly on that snow. I did not have the opportunity to try it on a higher amount, but I was under the impression that the 9 - 10 inch range was just about at the top. I think the specs indicate clearance to be about 12 inches.
