| Answer: | Very interesting question, potentially lifesaving. The short answer: you cannot. I tried it, at about noon, on white newsprint. It would not char the paper. However, on areas of black ink, it would burn a hole through the paper in 5 to 10 seconds, but I could not get a flame. I tried blowing on the paper, and tried multiple thicknesses of paper, all to no avail. The lens on the Swisscard is about 5/8". I tried the same experiment with a 3" magnifier, which collects about 23 times more power. I could rapidly char and burn through multiple sheets of the newsprint, but found that it was very difficult to get the paper to burn. It seemed to work best with the paper vertical and modest blowing. I could only get a fire started in about 1 in 10 attempts. I then tried the cardboard from the tube inside a roll of paper towels, using the 3" lens. This combination could quite easily start a fire. However, the Swisscard could not char the tan surface of the cardboard. |

| Answer: | I would not trust a single thing in the description. I tried to buy this for my chainsaw and it had completely different bolt pattern that what I needed. I complained, then they sent a replacement. I got a different carb, same problem, incorrect bolt patterns. Complained again, got shipped one with correct bolt pattern that did connect to my saw but was an obvious wrong part. Had different placement of idle adjustment screws so they wouldn’t be accessible with the housing on. Everytime I complained, or gave a poor review, Amazon would credit me, and send a new one. This company has gotten too big to care... just credit and resend something else?!? Part of the reason my New Years resolution was to stop buying things here... look up your local Stihl shop and buy from them. Or waste your time here trying to buy cheap Knock-off parts made in some random country by someone who has never even seen a Stihl saw... Either way, your likely going to need to go to a Stihl shop in the end to get the correct replacement carb. Just depends if you want to play the game here to save $20. I do not suggest purchasing a carb here... who knows what carb, by what manufacturer will show up on your doorstep. |

| Answer: | Carb has only one adjustment on it, and that is the high speed. After starting chain saw and warming it up, I did a small adjustment on the high speed adjustment. Just verify before installing the carb that the HS adjustment is one turn out from the seat. HS adjustment is a left handed screw. |
