I understand that Lodge is the last foundry making cast iron cookware in the USA however they too have had some products made in China. I own a couple items from both manufacturers and have not had any problems. I purchased a Camp Chef 14" camp Dutch oven in fall 2014 and have used it about 10 times. I like the larger size for making pizzas. I found that an Echo cookware round pan will fit into it nicely for pizza but I had to fasten some tabs around the rim and use pliers to remove it. I first place a "Lodge L8DOT3 Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Meat Rack/Trivet, 8-inch" inside the oven, then the pan. The trivet helps the heat radiate more evenly and acts as a spacer so the pan sits better. I also use a cake pan at times for making desserts that could make the inside of the oven more messy than I feel like cleaning. |

When it is dry open the covers and let them dry out. My wood is mostly oak, some ash. No Pine since pine is the worst to cause creosote in the chimney. I do have that taken care of as needed. |

| Answer: | Do you mean the depth? It's the width of the brackets, except at the very ends where you have the vertical posts. You can make the length of the ground 2x4's any length you want. I find about 5 feet a good length. As some people have suggested, use screws a little larger than the black wood screws that come with the brackets for more stability. Also, it pays to add simple diagonal support pieces on each of the ends of the rack to strengthen it. It's optional, of course. |
