But it is now using this rather funky flow valve which sits on top of the outlet instead of the older variable control on the motor that used to be in the bottom slot in the front. This change was certainly a cost saving innovation. But the company must have recently changed hands, and are maximizing their profits. I just bought a new one today. It is not like the old one. It was nearly twice the price--the last one I bought cost $10.99 and had the variable switch on the front as I noted. There was a phone number with the information and on the container it came in, so I called the company in Texas, to ask them why they had changed the design--I use it indoors for a cat water fountain and I have very little clearance the flow control mechanism goes higher than I want to go--and what I could do now that it the package was open, but that number is not helpful--it is a number to a series of sales gimmicks trying to get your personal information with numerous (6 I think) teasers, at the end of which they said the number had recently changed, when I called that 800 number I was offered a "free" Caribbean Cruise, if I just gave them my personal information. | Answer: | Beckett performance guide says 120 gal per hr @ 10'. I would question that. Mine performs very well @ 4.5' with that being split to serve 2 lines to 2 outlets in the fountain. I bought it because it comes with a shut off valve that can regulate the flow. I own 2 of these pumps. |

| Answer: | If you just want to filter your pond, just plug it into an electrical socket. Most of time, the pump cord is not long enough to reach a socket so you have to have an extension cord. If you want a permanent underground hook up you must follow state electrical laws. If you want any kind of water fall or water feature to spray, you must order an addition kit for that purpose to hook up to the pump. Sounds complicated, but it really isn't. I believe Beckett has everything you need. |

| Answer: | Not sure I understand the problem exactly but I've had two Beckett pumps and they both have a little 1" or so connector that has two rubber ring washers - one on each end. One end fits in pump and the end accommodates the extension tube. |
