Answer:	The one i got lasted about 3 months in the Colorado sun. I just went up today to replace it and it still shows no battery. I looked at the reviews and apparently when you replace the battery you have to pull the unit, put the new rechargeable battery in it and put it under a light for 24 hours to charge said new battery. The unit wont charge a fresh battery, only keep it going for a few months. If I have to get on the roof of my house every 3 months, this thing goes in the garbage. Not happy.
Question:	Is the back flat so I can hang this on a wall
Answer:	Mine is about 12ft away. I think the limit is around 300ft. That's probably without any buildings or obstructions in line of view. It has worked flawlessly since installation.

Answer:	When I ordered my box in August it was cat6. Said so on the box and the wires were marked as such. However I do not recall the description stating cat 5. I am sure if you ordered it and it was wrong Amazon would allow free shipping for the return. One thing to be mindful is that the order may not come with the crimped and ends (mine did not). Nevertheless when I called Amazon to complain they refunded me 20 bucks. Btw my Ethernet run in buried conduit spanned about 110 ft. No issues; everything works great.

Question:	My wind sensor has stopped tranmitting to the display. I have installed new batteryies twice. Any suggestions
Answer:	Hello, I can certainly help with that! First, make sure that you are using standard alkaline batteries from a high-quality brand. Once you have verified that you are using recommended batteries, perform the reset below. Please follow the steps carefully as the order is crucial to the success of the reset. Hard Reset: 1. Bring both the sensor and display unit together and power down by removing all batteries from each and/or removing the power cord. 2. Change the A-B-C switch on both units to a new, matching channel. 3. Reinstall the batteries in the outdoor sensor. 4. Reinstall batteries and/or power cord into the display unit. 5. Let the units sit within a couple of feet of each other for approximately 5 minutes or until you see a solid sensor signal. Answer:	the detail information says it's set by "intelli-time". That is NOT the atomic clock in Colorado, so NO, it's not an atomic clock setting.

Answer:	Does not require internat nor receive info from weather service. You hang a wireless sensor outside, this sensor communicates with the unit inside and give you pretty accurate info. Future weather is calculated internally using barometric pressure readings, not really reliable but useful if you lose all other sources, like in an emergency. I use mine mostly for outdoor readings that are easily viewed. I would buy it again.
Question:	I know the sensor can be mounted nearly anywhere, but can the weather center be wall mounted
Answer:	You have the option of wall mounting or setting it on a desk. You have to be careful when wall mounting and place it in a position to where you can see it dead on and nor at an angle.

Answer:	I just measured and it is approx. 5 1/2 feet. The cord was a little curly and hard to measure but it was a bit over 67 inches. Hope this helps!

Question:	Replacing batteries on a roof-mounted unit is a pain. I have power there, so can it be modified easily
Answer:	You can convert "anything" battery powered to a AC converted application. Just match your voltage and amperage and seal the hole wire comes through. Easy. Just find a wall wart to match, solder additional lead wires, as required for length. Heat shrink the soldered connection. Given the 4 AA required, and I don't have this unit, my guess is something 5-6 volts with about 800 -1000 mA would work, just check the stats on it.
Question:	I know the manual says batteries in the display are for backup only, but does anyone know about how long it can survive on batteries
Answer:	I bought mine in 2016 & just had to change the batteries today 2/28/2020
Question:	What is the maximum distance between the outside unit and the display? Does the sensor need to be in the shade
Answer:	The distance is 330 ft. However be careful where you place the display from the station. Walls and other things can weaken the signal. It depends on what your house is made of. My house is primarily wood. The signal has no problem reaching the other end of my house (about 150 ft I believe). Also don't place the display near computers or radios or other electronic devices. It can cause interference with your station. Now the outside station it self is does not need shading. I actually recommend you place the station as high as possible (like on a pole on your roof, if you can't, place it no lower than 5ft-6ft from the ground) This ensures that your wind readings are accurate. The thermometer and hydrometer sensors are in the sensor and a internal fan circulates air past the sensors from outside, allowing the temperature readings to stay normal in the sun. Also make sure that station is in a wide open area with nothing around the sensor that could block the wind reaching the station. Typically I would say 50 ft from obstacles but I'm not sure how close. A lot of writing a know but hope this helps you!

Answer:	The same thing happened to me with the outdoor temperature reading. It stayed on 71 for a week. I changed the A-B-C button on the display unit to B for 10 seconds and then switched it back to A. The outdoor temperature then began to display on the unit. I have a 75077 unit.

Answer:	No. It is concave in the back with a slight curveture which really restricts wall mounting. Also, this particular model is very hard to read from any distance. I went with the larger model which can easily be read from across the room.

Question:	Does the acurite 06014 work with a 01036a1 display? my current exterior weather sensor goes through batteries in a week
Answer:	It only updates every 18 seconds. That's just crazy. Do you know how often the wind changes in 18 seconds ? So the accuracy is a totally zero !! You may step out your door into 30 mile an hour winds but your display shows only 6 miles an hour. Other than that, yep it displays the wind speed albeit from who knows when.
Question:	Can I pair this with Alexa
Answer:	Riley, we have the sensor about 40 feet away from the receiver. My husband mounted the sensor on top of an 8 foot board at the edge of the deck which is 7 feet above the ground to get wind speed, too. It works very well.
Question:	Will this unit handle winter weather
Answer:	Yes, but not as bad as some other units. 5-6 degrees versus 20 degrees.
Question:	Does this need to be mounted on a pole
Answer:	It is very easy. The sensor needs to be 5ft off the ground minimum, in an open area away from buildings and roads (anything that will interfere with wind flow and temperature). We mounted ours on a 6ft pole in our backyard and it works great. Also keep in mind how shade can affect temperature readings. Basically the further away from shade, ground, buildings, and roads is the way to go. And no roof mounts because shingles absorb heat. The description of the product gives you the diameter of an acceptable "pole". Higher the better. The sensor has a lock bolt that allows you to mount it on any pvc, steel, aluminum, or iron pole to the specified diameter. The instruction booklet of this product goes into great detail of where and how to mount the sensor. Again, very easy. This was a gift to my meteorology major wife, and she loves it. Answer:	It is not wireless. But you can buy a wireless device from there website but it is expensive.
Question:	Does the USB have to plug into the monitor? If so, can I purchase an additional monitor? Is there a model that has a rain guage but is wireless? I don't want to have to stick the monitor in the computer room, but I want to be able to check on my iphone... Any suggestions
Answer:	You have to plug the USB into your computer if you want to update actively online, and you can purchase as many monitors as you want. If you didn't want to have to plug it into your computer, you'd have to get the Bridge unit off the Acurite website to upload directly through your router.
Question:	Does the 01036 give the high and low temperatures of the day
Answer:	Yes, it does. For us, the high temperature is overstated because the unit is in an open, unshaded area, and we live in a warm climate. I don't like the fact that the rain, wind and temperature gauges are all in one unit, because for rain and wind, the unit needs to be in the open, but that means the temperature ends up showing too hot because it's in the sun. Right now it's 69, per my old gauge that's in the shade, and per my phone app and the radio, but the AcuRite says it's 88, which is far off.
Question:	Can I add the bridge unit to this unit
Answer:	From what I've found, you have to order the bridge unit separately directly from AcuRite. I got this as a gift for someone and it pisses me off that you need an EXTRA piece of equipment to get your info on your computer, tablet or smartphone. AcuRite definitely should have included that tidbit in their info about this product.

Answer:	Minimum of zero, maximum of three.The base unit displays three sensor readings all the time - no need to push a button the cycle through the sensors. A button press displays MAX, MIN, and Current temperatures of base and sensors.I recommend the 'Indoor' sensor as it has a digital readout on it - the outdoor sensor does not.

Question:	What is the range of the wireless indoor and wireless outdoor sensors from the home unit
Answer:	I believe the manufacturer states 100m or approximately 300ft.My indoor sensor works great and my distance between my two buildings is 75-100 ft.I would guess that the outdoor sensor would have similar results
Question:	How accurate are the readings
Answer:	Looking at some of the previous responses, there seems to be a confusion between precision and accuracy. According to Acurite (the manufacturer), it is accurate to +/- 2F. The precision depends on the display, which is separate from this sensor. Most (if not all) Acurite displays only show whole numbers for temperature (e.g. 32F vs 32.6F). Further looking shows that the accuracy varies by temperature (this is normal for most measurements, even the most accurate ones). For example, from -40F to 32F, it is only accurate to +/- 4F, but from 68F to 75F, it is accurate to +/- 1F. Finally, some examples illustrating difference between accuracy and precision. A device that reads in tenths of a degree but has an accuracy of 4F might read 58.6F and seem very accurate to another device showing 55F. But if the latter is accurate to 1F, it is far more accurate. For example, if the temperature was actually 55.8F, the latter is within it's 1F tolerance and the former is also within its 4F tolerance, but the 55F of the latter is obviously more accurate. Answer:	I purchased this cable in November of 2012. While most of the cable I have buried sections of the run are not. It may not always be exposed to direct sunlight but it is exposed. I would have to say yes to your question. It is uv resistant. the exposed sections are not brittle or faded. It has held up great for the 1 and 1/2 years I've had it.
