In the dark, the clock face can't be easily discerned, but the projection is very visible; in daylight the projection can't be discerned (too much ambient light for contrast) but the clock face provides information. The exception is that if the power is out, the projection shuts down to save battery life. If you wake up at night and there is no projection on the ceiling, you almost certainly have a power outage.

Answer:	The batteries do not last very long. When the display is first activated with new batteries, the display is OK, but within 24 hours, the display was so dim that you could hardly see it. This may have been faulty unit. I sent it back and got a refund.

Answer:	I have two display consoles and it works great. One upstairs and one on ground floor. I can see both on-line and on phone via app. I set alerts in case HVAC issues, which is great benefit as well. I ordered WS-2902A-CONSOLE-KIT which is what you need.

Answer:	Wireless devices transmit a radio frequency (RF) signal, generally in the 400 – 900 MHz range. The manufacturer will rate the maximum transmission distance as line of sight. However, the signal will transmit through walls and other obstructions. The following is a table of reception loss vs. the transmission medium. Each “wall” or obstruction decreases the transmission range by the factor shown below. Medium RF Signal Strength Reduction Glass (untreated) 5-15% Plastics 10-15% Wood 10-40% Brick 10-40% Concrete 40-80% Metal 90-100% RF will not transmit through metal barriers. Answer:	My Accuwrong failed in the 13th month and support from Accurite was horrible at best. I had an Amibeint for over 10 years but the ws 2902 is not working, they sent me 3 replacement units all with the same issue, NOT TRANSMITTING.

Answer:	No, they are of equal quality. The console on the WS-1002-WiFi is much nicer with multiple screens and TFT display. This is LCD with color film. The WS-2902 is a very capable unit.

Answer:	I don't know about safety of the probes but I can say that the outdoor sensor functions poorly in low temperatures.
Question:	What transmitter range can this deliver? I need about 250ft
Answer:	Clear line of site, probably 100-150'. Walls, trees, floors, can greatly reduce that distance, especially if there is any metal or stone involved. Normal house, probably 20-40', greater to an outside sensor (50'+) only going through one wall. Really depends on location and battery strength. Use fresh alkalines for max distance.
Question:	Is the remote display supposed to stay on ? Mine keeps going off and I can't seem to turn it back on
Answer:	There are switches in each transmitter that you use to indicate which number it is assigned. I also mark the outside of the unit with a sharpie so I remember which one is which.
Question:	Can you tether this so it doesn't end up in your skimmer
Answer:	Yes, it displays both the indoor and the outdoor by cycling through them. It does not display both at the same time. So, you have a wait a few moments for the display to change to see both indoor and outdoor. I believe this model can handle up to 3 or 4 outdoor sensors, so if you have more than one it will cycle through all of them.

Since the sensor cluster is the same for three different systems, you can use the display from WS-1900 (like WS-2902A only no WiFi), WS-2902A, or WS-2000.

Answer:	It depends on the part but if the rain gauge fails, the entire sensor array needs replacing. The sensor array is relatively less expensive. Item WS-2902-ARRAY, currently $53.99 + shipping (subject to change).

Answer:	According to the specs I saw at https://weatherstationdepot.com/ws-2902-osprey-review/ the wind speed is averaged over 16 seconds and the wind gust is sampled every second. But is this the average wind gust over the 16 seconds or is it the maximum wind gust over the 16-second period?

Answer:	Yes, but another way to go is to get a cheap tablet and use either a weather app with your data, like weather underground, or a web browser to your data on weather underground or ambient weather. I got a 10" tablet off Walmart's website for $50 and works great next to my bed for viewing my weather info.

The rate of change of barometric pressure is a trend and may be one of several tools to predict weather 24 to 48 hours in advance.

In general, if the rate of change of pressure increases, the weather is improving (sunny). If the rate of change of pressure decreases, the weather is degrading (cloudy or rainy). If the rate of change is relatively steady, it will read partly cloudy or partly sunny (depending on the type of weather station).

The reason the current conditions do not match the forecast icon is because it is a prediction 24-48 hours in advance. In most locations, this prediction is only 70% accurate and it is a good idea to consult the National Weather Service for more accurate weather forecasts. In some locations, this prediction may be less or more accurate.

Optional temperature and humidity calibration is provided for the upmost accuracy, Although calibration is optional and not required, the purpose of calibration is to fine tune or correct for any sensor error associated with the devices margin of error and inevitable sensor drift associated with electronic measurements. The measurement can be adjusted from the console to calibrate to a known source.

Includes minimum and maximum temperature and humidity display with easy reset option.

Answer:	I didn't know it had a color changing feature. Mine is red all the time
Question:	Can the backlight be turned off
Answer:	Yes. There is a switch on the back. Since it is a reverse backlight, the screen goes completely dark.
Question:	Does the projection light change colors as well
Answer:	No. For the projection you can rotate and focus. It stays red. The backlight you can set on manual color or changing with temperature.
Question:	Can it project the outside temperature instead of the inside temperature
Answer:	It projects both. It alternates between Time/Indoor Temperature and Time/Outdoor Temperature once every few seconds. There are no buttons to push. It does this automatically.

The wireless sensor can be placed anywhere (inside or outside) wherever you want to measure temperature remotely. Includes degF or degC switch. Communicates via a 433 MHz wireless signal up to 150 ft (100 ft under most conditions).

Note:

The clock will always display the color green when the clock is searching for the radio controlled signal. The mono color green is best for avoiding wireless interference from the display.

Cold White

The clock color will display Cold White when the temperature is less than 0 degree Fahrenheit.

Light Blue

The clock color will display Light Blue when the temperature is between 20 and 30 degree Fahrenheit.

Light Green

The clock color will display Light Green when the temperature is between 60 and 70 degree Fahrenheit. This is one of 13 colors that can be set manually or automatically.

Red

The clock color will display Red when the temperature is between 90 and 100 degree Fahrenheit.
