Answer:	Yes. Remove the two small Phillips-head screws from either side of the "glass." Slide the working part of the unit out of the lower cover. There is a clear plastic strip that helps facilitate removal of the old battery. Replace with an L1154 coin cell. Reverse to reassemble.

Question:	Is the back flat so I can mount with double sided tape
Answer:	The outer edge is raised about 1/8th inch. in the center is a small ring, part of the plastic back, that is about a 1/4" high. both. In between is flat plastic. these raised areas could easily be filed down. However, there would still need to be a small nib that the thermometer dial is mounted to that sticks up approx 1/8". It could be filed down a small bit but not much. Please try and find a backside photo and think of my suggestions.

Answer:	Not certain since the packaging was discarded awhile ago but my bets are on China - very cheaply made.
Question:	Do I have to remove the metal piece inside the unit? It appears to be holding the red arrow in place at one particular temperature
Answer:	No! The metal "spring-like looking thing" is a bi-metal coil that actually makes the needle move. If the thermometer is in an area that is "static" in temperature- then the needle wouldn't/ shouldn't move. If you put the thermometer in the freezer and the needle doesn't go down, or the metal coil is scraping the face, then your unit is defective. I agree with the other reviewer. Not only is this unit "cheap" (in a bad way)- it's also not very accurate. I had to have the first one I received replaced, since the metal strip *wasn't* in the slot of the needle.

Question:	Want to use on RV window, will it stick at highway speeds
Answer:	I believe the appropriate answer is MAYBE! These thermometers of this type, are wetted and then air bubbles are worked out, kind of like putting hard screen on your phone display or tablet display. That is what you are dealing with. I do know that once I put the unit on our patio door we got lots of winds and blowing in the spring and it never moved or came off. But, I mounted it on the West side of our home. Once the sun hits it, the temp goes to 100+ as the solar energy hitting the temp meter drives the unit to the solar temps hitting it. On and RV you can probably arrange to park with this thing to the East and it should do fine. On the road and road wind, I just cannot say it will stick under all conditions of where you drive and outside influences you could have in a moving vehicle. Hope this helps!
Question:	Is there a way to calibrate this? Mine is reading 15 degrees too warm
Answer:	There is a knob in the back that you should be able to turn, but do it before you install the thermometer. Once mine was in place I couldn't move the knob. Mine is 3 degrees off, so I just subtract that number to get the accurate one.

Answer:	Ann, There is a calibration adjustment on the back of the thermometer. Not sure if it will adjust by 20 degrees. That being said, the coil box on this thermometer really heats up when the sun is shining directly on it, thus reading a temperature that can be off by 20-30 degrees. When the sun is not shining directly on the thermometer, I have found it to be fairly accurate. Best, Drew

Answer:	No Rich, it doesn't need a battery. The arrow is attached to a spring which expands and contracts when it warms or cools so don't put it in a window that the sun shines upon. Windows faceing north, or well shaded, are best.

Answer:	I doubt it. We thought it was a great item, but it didn't last long on our door and we threw it away. It would take some super glue because it didn't stick to a regular window as it was supposed to.

Answer:	This thermometer works fine on my outside sliding glass door. I have it positioned at the upper left hand exterior corner of the door above my door opening handle. Because of that location it does not interfere with my screen door. On the other return panel I stop the door with a track block before the thermometer comes in contact with it. I fastened mine with Elmers glue and it has not fallen off . . . yet. There is also a way to calibrate the needle that the Taylor does not mention. I set it according to a reading from a better outdoor mercury thermometer by turning the needle from the back with a pair of pliers. It has been up for 6 months through temp ranges from 0 to 100 here in Austin, TX. I don't know what the pacific daylight time (pdt) is but the depth is about 1 & 1/4 inches from the glass door to the face of the thermometer when mounted. I hope this helps. It's a good value item.

Answer:	Not 15 feet away. This is a pretty small thermometer (8 inches total length), and at the optimal angle the liquid is 1/2 a centimeter wide.

Answer:	Metal bracket came separate with mine. Mounted it just outside window so I could check temperature without going out.

Answer:	I don't know for sure, but they would communicate on the same frequency, so it would depend on the distance between the units. I don't think they would jam or interfere with each other.
