Answer:	The nectar does have a preservative in it to help keep it fresh. Depending on how many birds you have coming to the feeders refrigeration after opening keeps it fresh for months, even over the winter if in higher latitudes. I'm in St. Louis and my feeders are in full sun so I only put enough in the feeders to last 10 - 14 days then clean rinse and refill. It was amazing how much more the birds liked the Kaytee clear nectar. I'll never use anything else. BTW if the nectar gets too old they will just stop feeding.

Store leftovers in the refrigerator. I just adjusted the quantities and made enough for 2 feeders.

Answer:	I found out that red dye is unhealthy for hummingbirds. One cup sugar to 4 cups water, heat to almost boiling but remove from heat before it boils. Also clean the feeder each time before filling.

They may not come right away, but birds will tweet the location, and eventually you'll get visitors. Oops, this answer applies to the liquid nectar. The jar of powdered nectar is 12 oz. According to label, use 7 cups (56 oz.) of water to the entire jar of powder. I have never measured how many the actual number of ounces it produces.

Answer:	For me, it depends on the time on the time of year you are feeding. When the weather is above 75 degrees, I usually let the food stay out only a day or so. I don’t fill the feeder very full so as not to waste food. When it is cooler, I let the food stay out 3-4 days. I always clean the feeder with soap and water before refilling. I am holding an empty container in my hand and the ingredients specify the following: "Mineral Water, Sucrose, FD&C Color Red #40...........". I purchased a 64oz bottle of this product a few weeks ago and filled three hummingbird feeders in our yard and placed the remaining contents in the refrigerator as instructed. Unfortunately, all activity at the three feeders stopped abruptly when we switched from a homemade solution to the Pennington Premium Natural Springs Nectar. After two days of inactivity we emptied and cleaned the feeders and filled with our homemade solution. It took a day, but the hummingbirds have thankfully returned to our feeders. I do not know why the Pennington solution did not work, but suspect the batch we received went bad or was tainted. Needless to say, I won't be using this product going forward.

Regardless, the birds can't see what color the fluid is when they insert their schnoze into the fake flower orifice. My daughter runs about 6 feeders, and she fills with sugar and water; she has been doing this for years and has many more hummingbirds than I have. I prefer the PP packets because I'm lazy and there is less measurement and mess using them.

Answer:	I don't know. I have never tasted it. I did use this product for a while but this year switched to sugar water which I make myself. It is much more economical and the hummers do love my mix of 1 part sugar to 3 parts of water (do not add food coloring).

Question:	Is there an additional extender piece that I could get to make this taller
Answer:	No there's no additional pieces to make it taller
Question:	How much weight can it hold
Answer:	It is very flimsy. Will not hold much weight.
Question:	Everyone is complaining about spin. Could the three parts be super glued together
Answer:	I do not have a spin problem. I am not using the middle rod, so don't know if that makes a difference or not. The top piece connected directly to the bottom piece fits tightly. I am sure they could be Super Glued or use JB Weld to hold them without any problem.
Question:	Can this be used to hang a piñata
Answer:	I don't see any reason it couldn't be used to hang a pinata but it is only 48 inches high so it would hang less than 4 feet high.
