I recently moved and this mat has been rained on many times now and it has been pretty persistently soggy. I now track wet footprints in every time I walk over it and the script is also becoming discolored.

Answer:	it can get soaked - it's a great mat because the water goes right through it unlike the other mats out there that have a rubber backing. the rubber backing mats just makes a nasty slimy film underneath where it gets moisture that doesn't dry out and ruins the wood. this was the only mat I could find that doesn't have a rubber backing.
Question:	where are they manufactured
Answer:	Yes. I got mine to keep my cousin's 3 yr old out of my room and even he can't get past it. Just make sure to keep the keys someplace safe where they can't get a hold of them and it should be fine.
