Answer:	I have a Pionus Maximilian and a Senegal. Neither of them climb down to the ground but the Senegal does climb down to the tray. I own 2 of these stands and they are sturdy and well thought out stands. I replaced 2 others that were not so great with these.

Answer:	No, because the whole perch assembly screws into the pole stand. You would only have the tray.

Answer:	Yes. Mango is a female Moluccan cockatoo and this perch has proven to be of adequate size for her. She has not attempted to climb down from it unless she is near a table or shelf. With the large tray under the perch she isn't able to climb down. I'm really happy with this perch.

Answer:	Actually, the local Wild Birds store recommends freezing nyger seed to keep it fresh. I've done this for years with no problems. The most important thing with nyger is to keep it fresh. In my experience the birds refuse stale food, which never happens after it's been frozen.
