Answer:	The wasps cannot eat from these feders. They will come to investigate the sweet food but generally leave when they find out they cannot eat from them. You must keep the flat part where the birds eat from free from spilled nectar because that will draw wasps to clean it up.
Question:	I am really having a problem with bees getting in my feeders...is this a good feeder that the bees can't get to the nectar
Answer:	I recommend giving your feeder a good wash and rinse before filling. Also getting a small funnel to fill up the bottle with helps to keep the nectar from spilling anywhere on the outside. I've had this feeder for a few years now and I love it. One other recommendation I have is to get some small bottle brushes to clean out the feeder holes every once in a while, as they can start to get a bit moldy if you don't get in there thoroughly.

Answer:	If you change the food every 3-5 days, maximum, you shouldn't have mold on it. But, to be safe, I wash my hummingbird feeders with a bleach and water spray; then, i rinse them thoroughly and change feeders every 3-5 days. Too long and they will mold and make the little guys sick. If it molds inside the glass, take a bottle brush and scrub off using bleach and water. Same with the rest of the feeder. Bleach will kill the mold.
Question:	Will the bottoms of the feeders work with a 2 liter pop bottle
Answer:	I don't buy 2 liter pop bottles so I can only guess it would. I originally purchased the complete feeder. This last purchase was just to replace my old bottoms.

Answer:	No, the cylinder unscrews from the base, you fill it like you would a glass and then screw the base on "upside down" and then turn the feeder over and hang it.

Answer:	First Nature makes two similar feeders. The one I like has the round holes. They also make one with slots. My hummers don't like the slots, so I stopped using it. The last time I ordered this feeder a month ago, I got the slotted feeder. I do get some bees and wasps. When that happens I move the feeder. The hummers will find it. The bees and wasp may, but not right away.

Answer:	this is all plastic. I love that it has perches so they can sit on it while they drink - and they do! I've had other kinds, but this is the only one I use now. I make my own syrup 2/3 c hot water, mixed with 1/3 c sugar, stir til dissolved, add 2/3 c cold water, stir and pour in. I clean it with white vinegar and hot water.

Answer:	I have of 7 of these feeders. 3 of them are at least 7 years old. The others about 5 years old. Other than faded from the North Texas sun, they all work well and no leaking/sealing issues.

Question:	Can this be used with a threaded 1.5 l wine bottle and a threaded beer bottle
Answer:	The Humdinger bottle that fits the Best-1 bottom has the following thread dimensions: outside diameter of bottle thread is 1-1/16”. The thread pitch, center of 1 thread to center of next thread is 5/32”. I tried a 1L wine bottle and the outside thread diameter is to large. A Jack Daniels bottle will start but the thread pitch is wrong. It can be forced on but will more than likely break the threaded plastic. Hope this helps.

Answer:	Here is The website of a helpful video About the “Best-1 Hummingbird Feeder”. The base or reservoir opening diameter is 4-1/4 inches and 1 inch deep. It will accommodate a glass feeder with an approximate diameter (outside of threads) of 1-1/16 inches and with threads 5/32 inches (center of one thread to center of another thread). The “Humdinger Feeder” glass feeder fits perfectly. Hope this I helpful! We go through over 1 gallon of nectar per week with these feeders!

Answer:	I've had Best Feeders for years and having tried others I do consider them the best, easiest to clean. For extra bottle simplification I looked and found any bottle that will accept your standard soda bottle screw-on top will work...plastic or glass. Don't worry about throat length. I have large bottles down to 8oz bottles, all interchangeable. I am glad to know they have replacement bottoms as I have had to repair some that I dropped, but you can drop and repair only so many times!

Answer:	If I tip it about 30-40 degrees, it does drip a little. However, I have never seen it sway and tip that much in even a heavy wind. I have never had this feeder leak or be messy. It is one of my favorites.

Answer:	This feeder does NOT keep bees away. I ordered it bc I read it had the highest reviews when searching for feeders that keep bees away. It attacts more bees than my other 3 feeders. I would not recommend it if you're buying to keep bees away.

Answer:	I don't know. Mine were red-the base that is. Most feeders are red. Have not seen a beige one.

Answer:	The plastic base comes apart so that you may clean the base and glass bottle with hot soapy water and a bottle brush. A pipe cleaner or port brush will clean the feeding ports. Rinse thoroughly. Like many Hummingbird feeders, this should not go into the dishwasher.

Question:	Is the base dishwasher safe
Answer:	I put them in the upper shelf and they are just fine. I run the dishwasher on a sanitize cycle (higher temperature) so both the glass bottles and plastic bottoms are sanitized. There is some color loss but I do not know if that is the dishwasher or just normal sun-fade. These are the best hummingbird feeders I have found. Very happy.

Answer:	I think the best way to clean the feeders is in a dishwasher. It gets rid of mold and bacteria so the nectar stays clear and healthy for several days. Put the bottles in the lower rack opening down. The disassembled feeding tray goes in the top rack. We have counted as many as 9 hummingbirds simultaneously trying to fill up on nectar at our feeder.
Question:	My biggest reason for wanting new feeders is that our current ones leak all over the deck. Do these leak
Answer:	No. They've never leaked. I have loads of hummingbirds and these are my favorite feeders. They come apart for cleaning and are very practical. I've ditched the leaky, blown glass feeders. In fact, I have 2 sets of 4 so I can take down and refill the hook with a fresh feeder in one trip. Happy birthday to me!

Answer:	Yes there is some design on it along with measuring levels for filling. I have 3 of these and absolutely love them. Hummingbirds are attracted to red so the red on the glass is great. There can be anywhere from 1 to 3 Hummingbirds on a feeder at a time. Just remember, no red coloring in the water, it's bad for the birds. Google has says to make your own...it's very easy. Answer:	I don’t think the opening of this jar is quite as wide as a standard mason jar. So, I would say no.

Answer:	Let me answer in two part as the answer is YES and NO. 1. For filling the feeder YES the perch and the feeding holes component do unscrew from the jar for filling. But if you are asking if the perch can be removed, just to have it removed ... 2. NO. The bottom of the 3 pieces (the perch) needs to be screwed into the jar with the feeder holes part just being the in-between-component.

Answer:	Would strongly suggest to just hand wash. I purchased these because of their easy fill capability and this also makes it easy to wash by hand.

Answer:	I have 3 of the models offered here: 2 Ruby, 1 Diamond & 1 Orion/Twist; I've never experienced any "bee" or "ant" issues. I take down my feeders every 3 days in warm weather, dump the remaining homemade nectar (the only nectar I use and without any food coloring) and thoroughly wash all parts, inspect for mold and air dry. Warm weather I do this every 3 or 4 days. Once with another hummingbird feeder I had ant issues but it had a holder that was staked into a flower pot...never used it again.

Question:	Does this feeder leak when it's not perfectly leveled? Some owners seem to complain about the problem
Answer:	I have my feeder hanging from a chain with an s-hook attached directly on top of the feeder so I guess mine is hanging pretty level. I don't have problems with it leaking. This humming bird feeder is the best one I have ever used. I have probably had about 10 different types. I guess if you have the feeder sitting on something rather than hanging and it's not perfectly level if would leak.

Question:	The hummers love his feeder, but now I do have ants all over it. Can someone please tell me where the ant moat is
Answer:	What I use for ants is Perky-Pet 245L Ant Guard for Bird Feeders-Single This ant guard does not use water which is a real pain.Since I started using them I have not seen one ant anywhere near the feeders. They are available on Amazon.
Question:	My Perky Pet feeder has to have the bee guards on to keep the honeybees and yellow jackets away. Does this one keep away bees and wasps
Answer:	The most efficient way we have found to keep the bees away is to spray the openings with vegetable spray, like Pam. It doesn't hurt or bother the hummers and the bees don't like it. The ants are another problem altogether. Moats don't work here. The alost microscopic ants will form a bridge out of themselves and march right over. I use a poison called Terro. It comes several ways. It is a liquid. It is sweet and attracts them. They eat it and walk thru it. The then go back to the colony and it ends up wiping it out completely. It comes in different ways, traps etc. With the ants I have they end up filling those completely before it can be completely dispersed. I get it in a bottle and place it in a couple of inconspicuous places along the ants path. I have found a small puddle, about the size of a large pea or a line about 3/4 inch long works the best. It won't kill them immediately because it take time to get it pack to the colony and share it. It can take one to three days but it does wipe them out. I sometimes use a spray beyond the poison I laid out to temporarily stop them. Don't spray before the Terro or you won't get the needed effect/

Answer:	California girl -- YES, YES, YES, you CAN set it on a flat surface. NO you DON'T HAVE TO HANG a hummingbird feeder. Yes, it is a good idea for the feeder to be red or have something red nearby that will initially attract hummers' attention.IN FACT, you can set out a small flat container - like a lid -- that contains sugar water nectar and the hummers will feed from it. You do NOT have to have the little fake flowers. I've seen hummers land on a person's upturned hand that has a little puddle of nectar water cupped in the palm and eat from the puddle of nectar. I've seen hummers eat from a shallow plate filled with nectar water where the plate was sitting on a patio table. Go to Youtube and look at some of the videos of people feeding hummers.
