Answer:	you use it to make up your patties not cook them... I put a piece of wax paper in the the press, press it down then put the meat in and press it . then you have your pattie on the wax paper easy to transfer to the the grill. The top handle is wood you could not get it hot. I dont know how the metal would do if it got hot .

Question:	Does it let you measure out specific sized patties? For instance, is there a way to get 1/4lb patties everytime
Answer:	Yes you can within a + or - 0.05 lbs. It will require a scale to put in the right amount of meat. Then some slight adjustments to achieve a firm pattie, filled to the edges of the press. I have made 5+ pounds of patties without having to readjust the press. The circumference of the pattie will always be the same but with variable thickness depending on the ounces you put in. When I next make them, I check the adjustment but usually it hasn't changed during washing and storage. The pattie paper is well worth a few dollars. I love my burger express, hope you will too.

Answer:	Yes... This is dishwasher safe... I just use my hand scrubber to quickly wash it... but I could use the dishwasher.It is fast to clean. It makes great and easy 1/3 lb burgers. I am retired and watch my money. This is a smart buy.

Answer:	it is plastic press, but I can tell you that is a good one,

Answer:	I would not recommend freezing the press. The best way to use this is to make the patties using 6" parchment circles (available on Amazon) between the patties, then store them in freezer rated zip bags. The parchment makes separating and handling the patties easy. I make patties from a large pack of ground meat at once and freeze the whole batch and thaw as needed.
Question:	what is the diameter of the burger right out of the press, Can You measure it for me
Answer:	The diameter is 4 and 6/10 inches. So it is a little over 4 and one half inches. If you make a dimple in the middle it doesn't shrink. I like a thicker burger, so I don't use the dimple maker that comes with the press. I can easily make half pound burgers with this press and then make a dimple in the middle and grill it! I use it all the time and it should last many years. Very well made!

Answer:	It doesn't say anything about the finish on this thing but it is slick like Teflon so it may be one of the off shoot finishes that are used that resemble Teflon. I wouldn't scrape the surface with anything sharp but the whole thing is finished the same and is dishwasher safe. They include 100 wax paper discs to use so you don't have to dig the patties out after forming them. I got a roll of parchment paper to use and it seems to hold up better than wax paper in the long run especially if you're going to stack and freeze a number of them as I did. The press cleans up easily especially when using the discs if you are worried about that. I like the fact that it is a simple, easy to use tool and stores neatly in the box in a drawer to keep it clean and free from scratches. The handle unscrews so it all fits into a 1 1/2"X 4 3/4"X 5 1/2" box that could easily be taken camping, hunting or anywhere you please. Hope that helps.
