User questions & answers
Question: | Can this be used as a candy thermometer |
Answer: | I have the version of this thermometer from several years ago, and I tested it out today to see if it would turn off automatically. I turned it on, and left it on for about 10 minutes. It never did shut off automatically during that time. I ended up turning it off, so as to not waste the battery. |
Question: | Does it turn off automatically after a period of time |
Answer: | It's not even water resistant. Label specifically states to hand wash and not to submerge. Submerging is dunking it into a vessel (bowl, glass, sink) of water; submerging is NOT running water over it as any "washing by hand" is done. Simply running water over it - the only way to truly clean anything - results in water getting inside the unit in seconds. Clearly this is a design flaw...or my unit is defective. I have written Oxo to find out. |
Question: | Is this waterproof? You can see the circuit board when you tilt the lcd screen. Water can go in there |
Answer: | Anyone have any idea how long the probe is for the "OXO Good Grips Chef's Precision Digital Instant Read Thermometer" ? I am assuming the 4" is for the analog probe. |
Question: | How long is the probe |
Answer: | 4/19 |
