Answer:	Yes it does swivel. I have a fire pit that use to be a tree stump that has had many fires in it. What this has done, is create a soft ashy ground to stab the stand into. That makes it a bit unstable, and it will tilt to the side when you swivel it. If you have hard ground, no problem. Hope that helps. Sorry it took so long for the answer.
