Question:	Can I use a charcoal chimney to start the coals
Answer:	I've never used a charcoal chimney so not sure, but one thing I do know is that lighting it the regular way with a long stem lighter works just as good. I used the grill one time, and I love it! Easy to clean, the temperature gauge is so very helpful. I use the copper sheets on my grill (2 sheets will cover the entire grilling area). They really work and helps to keep your grilling area clean from build-up. I also invested in a cover to protect from the weather so I can get a long life out of this grill. Excellent buy for me!!!

Answer:	'I think you can hire the AMAZON EXPERT to assemble for you at home. The Grill comes directly from China via Georgia and it's pretty much the way they would send it to you. Since I bought mine, I find out that for an extra $ 20.00 you can get something better at a local Walmart! This, it looks nice on the picture, but is a little disappointment in the results department! Too flimsy, nicks easily, and air enters from everywhere!

Question:	i have ordered one like this before and it was yelloish instead of bright white on the gauge. what color is this one
Answer:	It's a crap shoot. I've ordered 3 of these and one was also yellow, not that I cared. The most important detail to consider is the size of the threaded stub. I received 2 different sizes; one was 3/8" and the other was 7/8" if I remember correctly. Happy grilling my friend.
Question:	Is this adjustable to compensate for accuracy
Answer:	There’s a nut on the backside of the dial. I believe this is the adjustment nut in case the thermometer reads too high or too low. Suggest using the boiling water method in pot over open fire. Should read 212 degrees Fahrenheit. Videos on YouTube say to turn the nut with pliers to adjust.
Question:	How do you install it
Answer:	If your hood doesn't have a hole, or one large enough, you'll have to drill a hole for the probe to go through, probably 5/8"-3/4" dia. There is a nut that mounts from the back to hold it on.
Question:	What size hole to drill
Answer:	The thermometer has 1/2" NPT threads which I measured with vernier calipers at 0.800" outer diameter. I drilled a hole with a 3/4" hole saw (0.730" O.D.) and it fit perfectly. Actually had to thread it through the hole the fit was so close.

Answer:	To attach the common type, you would just needo drill a hole, but those aren't very accurate. Better to use a probe thermometer and meter the internal temp of what you are cooking. Perfect every time.
Question:	I see the length is 31" - I assume that's L to R across the front - how much of that is shelf and what's the length of the actual grilling surface
Answer:	Yes, that is left to right across the front. The shelf is 11 inches. The grill is 18 inches. There is an inch gap between the shelf and grill. The grill includes a mounted handle on the right side that adds the extra inch. I hope this helps.
Question:	Any easy fix to prevent the grease dripping on the floor from both ends? This is very problematic for patio use
Answer:	Mine did that on the first use. Wasn't really sure where grease was coming from, or what caused it. I put an old towel underneath. After a few uses I didn't notice anymore grease. Grilled hamburgers the other night, which produce a lot of grease and had no dripping.

Question:	Is the 18 inch easy to pack up and carry on camping trips
Answer:	Probably not, depends on what you are packing it into. Camper maybe, not so much in a car. It stands 43" tall, so even if it is broken down to the main components you'll have 3 pieces 18" round.
Question:	Is a chimney starter necessary or can one just use charcoal lighter fluid
Answer:	Lighter fluid is fine if you use a fire source which gets easily to the charcoal deep in the barrel. Sturdy wooden matches are suggested. I recommend a chimney starter. They are an incredible investment which will provide two advantages: no petroleum scent to your grilled meal and a whopping savings of cash for charcoal. One of my chimney starters is now 26 years in service
Question:	Does the charcoal go in a pan or on a rack? If on a rack, where do the ashes go
Answer:	The bottom of this cooker has a wire rack inside of it where the charcoal is placed on but I guess you don't have to use the rack if you don't want to, and the ashes just collect at the bottom under the rack which you can easily dump out after a few uses.

Question:	Can I use wood or is this charcoal only
Answer:	I burn Sugar Maple in mine, the only problem is that is DOES NOT burn long with wood or charcoal before the ash which is very small fills up and blokes air flow to fire. I built a removable ash pan for mine that hold ash from an eight hour burn/cook (pork sholder). I've have fire hot enough to pegged out the thermometer without effecting the paint.
Question:	How easy is this to clean? Is there an easy way to remove charcoal dust
Answer:	I line mine with aluminum foil and pick up the foil. Sometimes, when it gets bad, I lay it on its side and spray it down with a hose. Either way charcoal removes pretty quickly.
Question:	can you tell what the cooking area is
Answer:	The grills are 11" x 23" in the main cooking area and 11" x 10" in the firebox.
Question:	can you use it as a grill also
Answer:	Absolutely, you can use it as a grill. It works great as a grill! We do more grilling than smoking. Furthermore, it works well as a grill with very few coals.
