Answer:	I just let it burn out. It will smoke for six hours fully loaded. If you know you only want a couple of hours of smoke stuff some aluminum foil in first. This way the pellets are at the open end and will light easier.

Answer:	Hello, thank you for the question: I put mine in the top shelf of the dishwasher, as the bottom in most dishwashers has the heating element which may melt the plastic handle. Cleans up to new on the top shelf with no heat, wash hot water is OK. The rip cord tie on the handle has been a bit torn, due to dishwasher, but it still works.
