14 best small amplifier for guitar with mic

A small amplifier for a guitar with a microphone input, often referred to as an acoustic guitar amplifier or a combo amplifier, is designed to amplify the sound of an acoustic guitar and vocals using a microphone. These amplifiers come with specific features tailored for acoustic instruments.

  1. Inputs and Channels:

    • Acoustic guitar amplifiers typically have multiple channels to accommodate both the guitar and a microphone. These channels may have separate volume controls, EQ (equalization) settings, and other parameters.
  2. Microphone Input:

    • The microphone input allows you to connect a microphone for amplifying vocals or other acoustic instruments. This input may have its own gain, volume, and EQ controls.
  3. Guitar Input:

    • The guitar input is designed to receive the signal from an acoustic guitar. It often includes controls for volume, bass, midrange, treble, and possibly other tone shaping options.
  4. Built-in Preamp:

    • Acoustic guitar amplifiers usually have a built-in preamp designed to enhance the tone and signal quality of the acoustic instruments. Preamps can provide tone control and sometimes simulate the sound of various microphone placements.
  5. Effects and Processing:

    • Some small amplifiers come with built-in effects such as reverb, chorus, and delay to add depth and richness to the sound. These effects can be adjusted to suit your preferences.
  6. Portability and Size:

    • Small amplifiers are designed for portability, making them easy to transport and suitable for gigs, rehearsals, or smaller venues. They are typically compact and lightweight.
  7. Power and Wattage:

    • The power output of small amplifiers varies, but they are generally lower in wattage compared to larger amplifiers. The wattage determines the volume and projection of the amplified sound.
  8. Speaker Configuration:

    • Small amplifiers often have a single speaker or a compact speaker configuration, which is sufficient for amplifying sound in smaller settings.
  9. Durable Construction:

    • These amplifiers are usually built with durability in mind to withstand the demands of gigging and transportation.
  10. Inputs/Outputs for External Gear:

    • Some models may include additional inputs/outputs for connecting external gear like mixers, recording devices, or headphones.

It's important to choose an amplifier that fits your specific needs, whether it's for practicing at home, performing in small venues, or recording.Experimenting with different models will help you find the one that best suits your style and preferences.

Brew something from the book: Cream Soda Cold Brew

Two very different drinks are combined to make this delicious summer beverage. The fizz from the soda mixed with the rich, full-bodied espresso equals a well-rounded finish. It has only been in recent years that coffee and soda have started crossing paths. There are many recipes using other types of sodas; however, cream soda is a great trial option as its flavors mimic some typical syrups used in coffee drinks. So, next time you’re craving coffee on a hot summer’s day, whip up this ice-cold concoction and let your cares melt away

Directions:

1. Fill a tall glass with ice and pour in the cold brew.

2. Holding the glass at a slant, pour the cream soda into the cold brew, trying not to create too much fizz. Smile and enjoy the ride.

Recipe tip:

To keep any cold coffee drink from becoming diluted, fill ice cube trays with cold brew and freeze them. Use these cold brew cubes in your drink—as they melt, they won’t dilute your coffee!

I've seen several bands using it. Hope this helps.

User questions & answers

Question: I assume this is a
Answer: I own a Roland AC-60. It has two 6 1/2" speakers rated at 30 watts each in stereo. It has a 1/4" mono jack out for a sub woofer.
Question: Decibel output
Answer: never measured Db... I use it for a stage amp feeding it to a house sound system..decibels would not be as high as large amp
Question: can a second instrument be run into it
Answer: It does have two channels #1 takes XLR and 1/4 #2 takes 1/4 .The best part of the amp is to use voice in the vocal channel and the guitar in the second channel. In this config the voice is very very clear and the guitar sound pretty good as well. I would say excellent quality at moderate volume 25 ft in front. Also excellent quality to record . Two guitars and no vocals to me would be a problem as both would suffer but certainly doable at low volume in a small room . Hope that helps. The Battery packs unfortunately deliver about 85% power which is too bad but they do last surprisingly long. I do put a charged set in before a new night.
Question: Is it bivolt (110-220V
Answer: No this is strictly "hardwired" into the case, as a US 3-prong (grounded) 110 volt.

User questions & answers

Question: How long is the cable
Answer: cable to connect guitar to amp is 5 or 6 feet, plenty long enough for practicing.
Question: How long is the cable
Answer: About 6 feet.
Question: will this work with a hollow body electric
Answer: This is made for an acoustic electric guitar, like a Martin or Taylor, for example - an acoustic guitar that has a small microphone-like pickup inside, by the sound hole. I would imagine it would work with a hollow body electric, though. But I would think a regular amp for an electric guitar would be better.
Question: Can the cable connect to a concert uke
Answer: I would absolutely think so, the amp doesn't know whether is a guitar or a uke being connected.

User questions & answers

Question: Does the battery turn off when the 1/8" mic wire is disconnected
Answer: Yes. I mounted it on my son's 3/4 and it fit great.
Question: Hello, is this omnidirectional
Answer: Give it a shot. I bought mine for a banjo since they're naturally 'tingy' and it hasn't been too bad. May sound good having both running since you'll be able to dial back either. The worst that could happen is you'll hate it and be ought a few bucks
Question: Will this work as a clip on microphone for interviewing people
Answer: It actually works. I have not used it on my guitar. but I use it on my banjo at church. It is connected to a digital mixer board and works fine. It has both a volume and EQ control. With the banjo it works fine I'm not sure how the quality would be with a guitar.
Question: Does this really work for trumpet and how does it sound
Answer: the adhesive is reusable (i.e. i’ve been able to remove and replace the pickup easily); it did not leave residue on my instrument and did not harm the finish; it’s not super strong but good enough in most playing situations (in my opinion)

THE ACOUSTIC STAGE AMP REDEFINED

Born of advanced BOSS R&D, the acclaimed Acoustic Singer guitar amp series delivers the finest performance in its class. A powerful bi-amp design works in harmony with the custom full-range speaker system in each model, providing vibrant, high-definition tone that naturally projects the true acoustic qualities of your instrument. And with a host of onboard creative tools, you can easily enhance your sound, develop new ideas, and infuse your live shows with waves of fresh energy.

The Acoustic Singer Live LT is the most streamlined model in the series, offering simplified operation for players who don’t need the looper and harmony features found in other Acoustic Singer amps.

Dual channels allow you to connect an acoustic/electric guitar and a vocal mic, complete with dedicated EQ and effects for independent sound shaping. And via the loaded rear panel, you can interface with PA systems, music players, computers, and more.

An All-in-One Solution for Singing Guitarists

The Acoustic Singer Live LT’s dual channels deliver premium sound for both acoustic/electric guitar and vocals. Discrete analog input circuitry captures the full dynamics of your performance, while independent three-band EQs and effects offer a generous range of sonic control.

Discrete Guitar Channel

On the guitar channel, BOSS’s Acoustic Resonance processing restores natural tone by eliminating the hard, sterile sound of the piezo pickups used in common stage guitars.

Discrete Vocal Channel

And with the mic channel’s unique and powerful Enhance function, a single touch is all it takes to achieve big, studio-quality vocals on stage.

Bi-Amp Design for Premium Sound

In high-end sound design, bi-amplification is the gold standard for accurate full-range audio reproduction. Every Acoustic Singer model embraces this advanced approach, with a custom woofer and dome tweeter driven by independent power amps for the most clear and natural sound possible. Every time you plug in, you’ll experience full, punchy tone and ultra-clean broadband frequency response with no uninspiring harshness or boxiness. Precision cabinet construction further enhances definition and clarity, eliminating unwanted resonances and providing maximum projection on stage.

Feedback Fighters

Feedback is a common problem for acoustic stage performers, particularly the rumbling, low-frequency type produced by acoustic/electric guitars. With quick-access controls, the Acoustic Singer Live LT gives you the tools to tame it quickly and easily. The phase switch on the guitar channel provides your first line of defense if you hear boomy resonances from your instrument. The Anti-Feedback knob goes even further, allowing you to engage a notch filter to isolate the offending frequency and remove it completely.

Connect and Control

The Acoustic Singer Live LT’s rear panel is well stocked for your interfacing needs. There’s an XLR DI output to connect to a house PA, and an aux input with level control for playing backing music from your smartphone or another device. A USB jack offers a computer connection to a DAW, while the Rec/Phones jack provides a standard ¼-inch stereo connection for quiet practice sessions or recording to portable devices. It’s also possible to control guitar and vocal effects via optional footswitches.

Question: Can it transmit the sound to bluetooth head phones, so only I can hear what Iam playing
Answer: Hello, there is a headphone jack for plug in type, I use this it’s GREAT! I don’t think it will ”transmit” a Bluetooth signal. I think you would have to buy an external Bluetooth transmitter that plugs into the headphone jack...I have a TV set up like that. Really not sure. JC

User questions & answers

Question: Is this only for acoustic guitars
Answer: I wouldn't plug an electric guitar into it, just as you wouldn't want to put acoustic strings on an electric guitar
Question: I wonder if this is decent enough to be used as a speaker for my laptop or phone as well? To play music in general besides plugging in my acoustic
Answer: The speaker is fine. The Blackstar Fly3 with extension speaker is much better.
Question: can you use this amp for a loop pedal
Answer: You can use the amp WITH a loop pedal. The amp itself does not have a pedal.
Question: Each channel has its separate volume control. Do the bass/mid/treble and equalizer controls effect both channels or just channel
Answer: The bass, mid, treble, and chorus are only for channel 2, channel 1 is like a dedicated microphone input, no effects, with a mic cable input. The concept, I think, for this amp, was for the singer/songwriter, to have their sound amplified at home, or in a smaller venue. For a small amp, it sounds pretty decent, and sometimes I just use the mic input lightly amplified, with an un-amplified acoustic guitar. You could also run a mic with a 1/4 guitar type plug into channel 2, gets some (mic) effects, with an um-amplified guitar. I have not actually done that, but don't see why one couldn't do so. Musicians love different musical effects, right???

User questions & answers

Question: what is the maximum tilt angle
Answer: the angle is about 25-30 degrees.
Question: will a amp head and cabnet work wit hthis stand
Answer: It depends on the amp and if the amp head attaches to the cabinet, as well I'm sure weight and overall size. I use mine for a Fender Deluxe Reverb and a Vibrolux Reverb amp. The stand is very sturdy.
Question: Are there any cases or equipment bags that are well-suited to this stand
Answer: I have a bag that I carry mic stands in. I just throw this amp stand in the same bag with the mic stands. It's just a large bag designed to carry several stands. On Stage SSB6500 Speaker And Mic Stand Bag: sells for abou $32.00.
Question: What is the smallest length when it’s folded up? Trying to figure out if I could squeeze it into my 24” long pedal case
Answer: It’s the one piece of equipment that is hard to tote to practice and gigs. But It’s invaluable. I think it should squeeze down to 24” but it will be tight.

User questions & answers

Question: This amp came with 2 speakers
Answer: I'm not sure
Question: Just to make sure: if I use a condenser mic, do I just plug it in and switch to phantom power?,,, that's it
Answer: Wow. That's a very harp-specific question! I play some diatonic harmonica, but in a folk-y way with a holder on my neck while playing guitar or uke. It works fine with a conventional mic. I would say that as long as your mic has a 1/4-phone plug, it will work well. On this amp, the volume of the mic input is independent from the other (guitar) input.
Question: what is the diamiter of the speaker stand hole
Answer: I have owned both units. The Vox can be used with microphone and aux MP3 player input. Batteries last long time a great busking tool. The Roland micro cube is OK but not as versatile and eats up batteries fast.
Question: Stuart Kinniburgh any small mixer you could recommend
Answer: Here it is still available for purchase.
