User questions & answers
Question: | If I use the butane container and need to change to propane (due to freezing temperatures or altitude) is it safe to unscrew the propane and switch |
Answer: | Yes, Just be quick about it !! |
Question: | How big is the burner size? Can i use a 12" pan? Thanks |
Answer: | Measuring diagonally on just the grill part it's 11" and yes a 12" pan would work I have a 13" pot that I use to cook crab outside and it works perfect |
Question: | can this be used indoors |
Answer: | I have used it indoors twice and it works fine... no problems at all. Make sure to be as safe indoors as you are outdoors. |
Question: | Will this accept the weight a 20Qt stainless steel pot of water. Any thoughts on using it for a canning bath |
Answer: | I would not use anything big enough to cover the butane cover section as if that butane canister being thinner metal gets to hot it becomes a ticking time bomb. If I remember right I'm thinking they don't recommend anything over 10-11" in diameter in pots to keep from reflecting heat back down over butane cover. If using the 1 lb propane bottles probably not an issue. You could also wrap the rubber hose with some reflective aluminum foil that goes into stove. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can someone tell me where this is made?? trying not to buy anything from china. thanks |
Answer: | Some people who answered this question need to be little more realistic and objective. Very big portion of current Chinese manufacturing was handed to them by US corporations out of greed. Top %1 who manages WallStreet also places huge pressure on US corporations to be much more profitable (greedy). End result, fire US worker, take manufacturing to China and pay much less. So "they stole from us" is not quite correct. |
Question: | Does this come with the hose for 16.4 oz propane tank hook up |
Answer: | Yes the hose to connect the stove to a 1 lb propane bottle comes with the stove. |
Question: | Can this be used in the house during a blackout type situation |
Answer: | YES YOU CAN...BUT....EVERYTHING used involving FIRE releases some type of Co2 emissionsyou need to take a few precautions such as using it in a vented area opening windows and having ceiling or portable fans. If you have a hood fan above your electric/gas oven and it vents smoke and fumes outside or to the attic you should definitely place this burner on top of your oven, if it doesn't vent to the outside or attic you'll just be recirculation back inside. Also you NEVER want to leave it unintended and once you're done cooking turn it off. It wouldn't hurt to get a Co2 monitor and place it around 10-12 feet away from your cooking area, having it that distance will keep it from going off unnecessarily yet still let you know if the Co2 levels get high. And above all use some common sense you are cooking over a open flame!!! |
Question: | On high, how long will a 16.4oz propane cylinder last? How long will a butane canister last |
Answer: | I actually tested this out to see how long each fuel would last. The 8oz.Butane lasts just a little over 2 full hours on high heat. The 16oz. Propane lasts just over 4 hours on high heat. However, where I live (Boise,Idaho) the elevation is about 2,800 above sea level so that is a factor to take into consideration....different elevations, slightly different results. Also, not every can is going to give you the same results. On average,I'd be comfortable to say that the above times are pretty consistent + or - 10 minutes either way. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I use any butane canister with this gas stove |
Answer: | Yes! |
Question: | The flame/btu is so low compared to other butane burners. Is there enough heat to grill a burger or small steak |
Answer: | First, making sure you not in a high wind situation. The flame is almost invisible but gives out high heat. It burns my toast instantly with white smokes. I grilled squid and sausages. (If you cook steaks, I won't recommend it) Instead, heat up your cast iron pan at your kitchen stove till white smoke coming out, carefully bring it out onto a burner that is designed for shabu shabu or hotpot. Put butter and do your thing) This cute burner more for grilling small items likes skewers. |
Question: | Where is this item made |
Answer: | Seoul Korea Not China |
Question: | will i get the stove ( 2 ) in one order ? right ? will it comes with the gas bottle ready for use or i have to buy the gas bottle separate |
Answer: | You'll only get one stove, and it doesn't come with a butane canister. You have to buy the the canister separately. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this stove approved for indoor use |
Answer: | These stoves are typically used by Asians for indoor cooking at the dinning room table for say hot pot, shabu shabu, sukiyaki etc. |
Question: | Bit confused here, some say this comes with a storage case others say it does not. Can anyone tell me yes or no? Thank you in advance |
Answer: | I bought mine here and, yes, it did come with a storage case. The case is plastic and is handy. I don't know why Amazon does not state this in the product description but I do know they do a lot of "cut and paste" when listing products and sometimes the product source varies. In the side pictures, notice the one with the stove and the apparent box it comes in. There is a handle shown in the box view. That is the handle of the plastic carry case inside the box, so if it does not come with a carry case, you can send it back at no cost if you want to. I believe you will get a case and I know you will love this stove. I use mine for when the power goes out. Some Walmarts carry the gas cannisters and some do not. |
Question: | whats the largest diameter pan you can safely use on this without the butane cartridge getting hot and exploding? also is there a manual online anywhere |
Answer: | It's not a question of the butane cartridge getting hot. It's below and to the side of the flame. The pot support has a lip that limits the pot size to 10-3/4 inches or 27.5cm. Any pot larger than that will not be supported in a stable fashion and would be in danger of slipping and slopping out hot contents. |
Question: | How long does the butane cylinder last |
Answer: | Don't know for sure, I fried up a batch of potatoes and onions (twice) as well as some walleye fillets and chicken wings (sever batches) and there seems to be plenty of fuel left in the cannister. Bottom line..... one fuel can will go a long way. I plan to take two with me for a week of shore lunches in Canada in June and that should be more than enough. |

User questions & answers
Question: | do you need to buy a connecting hose as well |
Answer: | No It's not needed and no connection. Just one 8 ounce can other brand or 8.8 ounce of coleman butane and you're good to go. |
Question: | What can I place under the burner to use on my dining table |
Answer: | Camping I do not use anything and none of my plastic table tops have had any injury do to heat. Nor has the metal or wood picnic tables at campsties. I bought the flameless version last fall after seeing one at a caving convention in July last year in MT. It will allow me to have a fameless version to cook when our wild fire season in MT is demanding no flame cooking. They often allow the flameless version which by the way is not flameless just has a kind of closed cover on top like an electric burner making it appear flameless. Under the burner is a flame unlike this version and which has an open burner much like a gas range burners have. Makes all the difference when camping during wildfire season however. BY THE WAY if you buy one that does not have a wind shield make one or buy one they make all the difference in the world for fuel effeciency as well as heating up your pot. I bought my stove over 10 years ago with no wind shield and made one about 8 years ago from aluminum sheeting sold on Amazon. I cut it into tall pieces that fold up and hinged them together with metal wire coil binders and yes used the paper punch that uses those wire binders to make the holes. It worked great. And it folds up and fits right on top of stove tucked inside the plastic case that came with that stove. Bottom line most of these stoves are pretty much equal with some slight differences. Overall great. At home I find using a silicone sink mat even though it has ridges to dry dishes or use as a hot plate works extremely well to keep it from sliding. These also sold on Amazon are rated over 500 degrees and food safe silicone. Come in variety of colors but I prefer frosted or clear. I have not used the mats camping. A Silicone baking sheet my not insulate as much as you are concerned with. But like I said have never had so much heat to harm any surface including the plastic folding tables I often use when camping if there is no picnic table available. Hope these suggestions help others. |
Question: | How long will a can of butane last with this stove |
Answer: | I have not used this stove yet, but I thought I saw a canister can last up to an hour and a half or two hours depending on how high you have it. |
Question: | Can it be used inside |
Answer: | This is our second one, we use them for camping, backyard cooking, power outages, emergency kit/ travel kitchen, for many Asian table cooked foods like hotpots, shabu shabu, stir fries... I enjoy cooking on it, it sits on the glass top stove with a vent above, windows 6' and 15' away on either side, and a comfortable cooking height. The fuel cans last longer if you do not open it 100% to cook, we find open about 75-85% works fine. In about 8 years we've never had a problem, nor during indoor cooking, has the co2 monoxide detector gone off. If you use it inside, make sure you have good cross ventilation, and a working carbon monoxide detector nearby. This uses oxygen, and can be dangerous if you don't have windows sort of across from each other, open slightly (we have them open about 1 to 1.5" in winter or rain, wider in summer, and if there's no wind, we have a fan, electric or battery) blowing out the closer window. Excessive? Not if you were almost killed by co2 poisoning when the furnace repairman didn't put it back together right and we had all the co2 coming into the house. Now our all electric house has a battery co2 detector. Hope this helps for uses & sadety... |

User questions & answers
Question: | where is this stove made? how long does 1 butane canister last, for example, typical 3 day camping trip, cooking 3 meals a day? durable |
Answer: | I would think china. We use it for cooking outside and a canister of butane lasts a long time. But, that's just me and we're typically cooking one dish and not a dinner. You may use more. It's cheap and often sold in 3 and 4pks. If you're cooking for 4 people 3 x day =12 meals, I would guess two might be as much as you'd need. But I suggest you buy a 4 pack and see how much you use. If you're feeling scientific you could make an approximation by weighting the canister, cooking a typical meal and weighing the canister again and seeing how much you used. |
Question: | Appoximately how many hours of cooking can i get with 1 fuel can using it on the gas one gs-3000 portable gas stove? at approx. a med-high setting |
Answer: | We took this bad boy camping for 2 weeks and went through 1 1/2 cans of fuel (cooking nearly every night). I would stock up on cans however, as some states dont have these readily available. This stove is great! Love the sturdy carry case too! |
Question: | Can this equipment be used indoors, or is it for outside use only |
Answer: | The stove says on it "NOT FOR HOUSEHOLD USE", and the instruction manual contains 4 different warnings about using it inside (reproduced below). When butane burns it normally produces harmless carbon dioxide; however, if there isn't sufficient oxygen available (such as when in an poorly ventilated space) then it will form toxic carbon monoxide instead. If you do decide to ignore the warnings and use it indoors, then make sure that the room is well-ventilated, and make sure that you have a carbon monoxide detector. ---- The cover of the manual has 2 relevant warnings on it: FOR OUTDOOR USE AS A CAMPSTOVE. NOT FOR HOUSEHOLD USE. ANS Z21.72·CSA 11.2-2011 Camp Stove WARNING: CARBON MONOXIDE HAZARD This appliance can produce carbon monoxide which has no odor. Using it in an enclosed space can kill you. Never use this appliance in an enclosed space such as a camper, tent, car or home. The interior of the manual has a "DANGER" section that is mostly about explosions and fire hazards, but contains these 2 warnings about using it indoors: WARNING: Provide ample ventilation when using this appliance. This appliance consumes oxygen. To avoid endangering your life, do not use this appliance in unventilated structures. Provide additional ventilation for any additional burning products or additional occupants. This appliance is for outdoor use as a camp stove or indoor use in commercial restaurants or both. It is not for household use. It should never be used in an unventilated structure such as a tent, camper, vehicle or any other enclosed area as the use of oxygen or the bulid [sic] up of carbon monoxide could endanger your life. |

User questions & answers
Question: | They are showing pictures for two different cases, one is black vinyl and the other is grey canvas with hyper flame written on it. Which is it |
Answer: | It is Black. |
Question: | I have had bad luck with these "pleather" types of bags. Can anyone attest to its durability |
Answer: | I was skeptical about the "pleather" as well. After evaluating ONE, I've been pleasantly surprised and have bought SEVERAL for a Scout Troop. The boys typically pack the stove, a CI griddle, and a propane hose in each bag and so far they've held up well. They may not last FOREVER...but seem worth the $25 so far. |
Question: | Will this fit a coleman gladiator fyrechampion or fyreknight stove |
Answer: | A: I just purchased a National Parks Edition Fyreknight, (9966 Series). Its a Gladiator stove. It's 24" long, 13.5 wide, and 5.5" tall. So NO, this case is not long enough. |
Question: | Does this case fit the coleman eventemp 3-burner stove (with or without griddle)? is being added as an option to purchase |
Answer: | Yes it does; several reviews are from people who use this case for an Eventemp stove. BTW, I often wonder why people answer these questions with an "I don't know." Why do they bother saying that? |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the stove accept iwatani butane canisters |
Answer: | It should accept any brand of canister that is 200-250 grams, tall (kind of shaped like a spray paint can), and that has a collar with a notch cut out of it for proper alignment. |
Question: | How long will a single can of butane last on this stove at medium heat? Thanks |
Answer: | I’ve never run a can of fuel on any setting long enough for it to run out. The cans due seem to last much longer than you think they should. You can purchase them for between $1.25 - $5 so keep an extra one or two on hand and you could cook several meals over the course of a week and still have fuel left over. |
Question: | What is the smallest pot that will work with this in terms of diameter? Would a 4" diameter pot be too small for this |
Answer: | The measurement from the tip of one of the "arms" that support your cooking vessel across the center of the burner to the tip of the opposite "arm" is exactly 3". I tested my stove with a tiny skillet whose bottom is exactly 4" before curving up the sides, and it will sit on these supports. I feel like this is the minimum size you could safely use, however. Also, it would be important that your stove is on a solid surface and would not have any chance of jiggling or getting bumped, or your pot might tip a little. Having used one of these stoves for a few years now, I would highly recommend it, and would suggest getting this mini stove soon, as they are much harder to find than the standard size stoves. There is no stove that is easier or more economical and dependable to use. I hope my response helped. |
Question: | Does it fit in the case with the bottle in place? I see it protrudes in the back |
Answer: | No you have to remove the butane before it will fit in case...yes I protrudes out back about an inch. Great stove...love it. |

Question: | What about people reporting their burner cap melted |
Answer: | When I got mine the first thing I tried was boiling a small amount of water in a small pot on a hot day. 15 minutes and no boil and I see the cap was all melted so it will never cook good again. I got the 15000 BTU model of this and months later it still works like a charm! |

Question: | What adapter do i need to hook it up to a large propane tank |
Answer: | All you need is the adapter hose that you use for a barbecue or lantern |
