Question: Can you use it on a wooden deck safely
Answer: Please DO NOT use on wooden deck. The heat from my smoker was too hot and caught my whole house on fire. The fire inspector said always use on high heat material like concrete, and no wood or grass.
Question: How difficult is it to clean
Answer: Not difficult. The racks, drip pan and chip box come out and can be cleaned in your sink or dishwasher. The inside of the smoker is gradually "cured" by the smoke and will take on a dark coating. You can clean this like you would an oven, but you really don't need to. I do recommend that you clean the smoke coating from the glass window each time so you can see the meat cooking. This can be cleaned with soap and water, or with a non abrasive cleaner. Be sure to get all of the cleaner off the smoker so you don't have any issues with the cleaner adding unwanted flavors to the next cooking.
Question: How well does it do in colder temps, like Virginia in the winter
Answer: Virginia? I smoked in a N.Y. winter. It did ok, took a bit longer, may just have to add a bit more water to compensate for the time.

Answer: No. The smoke and other invisible fumes (carbon monoxide) are not safe to breathe. This needs to be used outdoors. If the seal around the door was improved, you could maybe justify using it in a garage with some duct work attached to the vent in the back and routed safely outside. Do not use this in an area intended for continuous occupancy. Do not use it near anything flammable or combustible.

Question: What is the cooking time vs frying, frying being 3.5 min per pound
Answer: 10-12 minutes per pound but there is no preheating time required. Having done deep fried and using the Big Easy, Total time is about the same.

Answer: This will be a great grill for you,.. I suggest you review the manual on how it sets up. If you are cooking for more than 4 I suggest buying another insert for the grill rack, again, do some online research. The meat will remain moist! I bought mine to use as a smoker but not as impressed with that function as I cannot get the temp to stay down to 210-225.
Question: what size propane tank do you use
Answer: Hi, I don't know the size of the propane tank but it is the standard size that you get from Blue Rhino, you give an empty and get a full one for approx. $20.00. Also, do yourself a favor and never use a bristle grill brush. I took a bristle out of my mouth while eating a hamburger, then I closely inspected the grill and saw many trapped on the lower grate supports. Charbroil makes a red nylon one they recommend. Google grill brush bristle injuries, you won't believe it. I had no idea. I am trying to tell everyone I can.
Question: Someone above wrote the temp goes from 325-450, is that true you cannot bring it down to 205 for slow smoking
Answer: Use the water pan as mentioned in other replies, but more importantly, use at least one good probe thermometer. The lowest I've had mine down to for smoking was 215, and it took a lot of work to get there. I added a true fire brick to the bottom of the basket as a heat sink as well as the water pan, and cracked to lid about an inch. ( shouldn't have to do that according to the owners forum). Also, this was in Feb. in PacNW, on a covered and sheltered deck. So , that all helped. As for grilling and roasting, remember that the owners manual tells you to run with the lid open. Again, a quality probe thermometer comes in handy here. Bottom line, don't be afraid to experiment. The 3 in 1 big easy is a great choice for most casual and occasional users.

Question: Can I use wood or is this charcoal only
Answer: I burn Sugar Maple in mine, the only problem is that is DOES NOT burn long with wood or charcoal before the ash which is very small fills up and blokes air flow to fire. I built a removable ash pan for mine that hold ash from an eight hour burn/cook (pork sholder). I've have fire hot enough to pegged out the thermometer without effecting the paint.
Question: How easy is this to clean? Is there an easy way to remove charcoal dust
Answer: I line mine with aluminum foil and pick up the foil. Sometimes, when it gets bad, I lay it on its side and spray it down with a hose. Either way charcoal removes pretty quickly.

Question: Is it easy to assembly
Answer: Assembly is simple it is just the handle on the back really, the other things are just trays and pans to be put into position.
Question: How many briskets can you fit in it
Answer: It really depends on the size. I fit a whole 10.5 pound packer brisket (came with some fat trimmed already) on one shelf, but that's pretty small. You could certainly fit two that way if they're small enough.
Question: Has anyone used this to smoke cheese
Answer: I have; but I did not turn on the element. I use the "A-maze -n Smoker" with sawdust, lit and then set it right on top of the wood chip box. The Smoker doesn't get hot enough to melt the cheese and the cheese is infused with smoke flavor.
Question: does it get too hot to use indoors
Answer: It is not safe to use indoors. You would likely die. And it's messy after you use it a while. It's a great smoker for outdoors though.

Answer: Used mine once. With water in one tray, on low, in full sun, ran at 200°.

Answer: The racks can be moved and removed. I've not seen any hanging hooks or rings on which hooks might be hanged.
Question: How long will a propane tank last with this one
Answer: I came up with a crude way to estimate how much fuel I have used thus far. Propane weighs about 4.24 pounds per gallon. The tank weight is about 17 pounds. I have run my new smoker for about 12 hours so far and have used about 4 pounds, and have about 9 pounds remaining, so that rounds out to be about .33 pounds per hour, and my smoker was set at the lowest flame setting. So I have about 27 hours remaining in the tank.A word of caution about tank exchanges! I had to exchange tanks because mine was too old, so I exchanged 2 tanks. Upon weighing each, I found that there was only 13 pounds of fuel in each tank. So, keep that in mind if you use the exchange program. When you refill a tank, you should end up with about 20 pounds of fuel +/-, so it is pretty obvious that while the exchange program is often more convenient than going to a refill station, you will get more fuel, and longer use out of a tank that you have had refilled at a fill station.I used a bathroom scale, so my results are not perfect, but should give you an idea of what to expect.
