  6. Safety Features: Many dual fuel generators come equipped with safety features such as overload protection, low-oil shutoff, and voltage regulation. These features help protect the generator and connected devices from damage.

  7. Electric Start: Some models offer electric start options in addition to the traditional recoil start. This feature can be more convenient, especially in cold weather.

  8. Maintenance: Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the reliability of a dual fuel portable generator. This includes changing oil, cleaning air filters, and checking fuel lines and connections.

  9. Noise Levels: Noise levels can vary among different models. Some generators are designed to be quieter, which is important for both user comfort and compliance with noise regulations in some areas.

  10. Cost: Dual fuel generators can vary in price depending on their power output and features. While they may be more expensive upfront compared to single-fuel generators, their flexibility and fuel efficiency can make them a cost-effective choice over time.

User questions & answers

Question: Does it come with a handle to assist when pulling the unit
Answer: Yes 2 handles, I'm 5' tall and I can move it.
Question: Does it have a back up recoil start if you have a dead battery
Answer: Yes
Question: Does this unit have an low oil indicator and will it shut itself off if the oil is low
Answer: It does not have a low oil indicator, but it has a low oil shut off. You should check the oil level every time you start it up.
Question: Will it run on pump gas. Here in CA all gas has ethanol
Answer: A little tip... When you're finished using it, shut off the fuel petcock while it's running so all the fuel in the carburetor is consumed. Ethanol fuel sitting in a carburetor greatly shortens its service live.

User questions & answers

Question: How long can i keep the generator running continuously? (westinghouse wgen
Answer: If you are referring to "continuous duty cycle" which means runs 24/7? No, this is not rated for that, Continuous duty generators cost $15K and up, run on diesel fuel or natural gas, engine operates at 1800 RPM, (4 pole generator). basically out of most peoples price range, and unless you have natural gas to the residence?
Question: Why oh why can't this be shipped to alaska? we're the ones that need generators
Answer: You're too close to Russia. We don't want them falling into the wrong hands. 😂
Question: Is the 50 amp 120/240V 14–50r transfer switch capable or can you only use the 30r? It says 50 amp transfer switch ready on the brochure
Answer: The 240 volt outlet plug on the generator is a 30 amp style; not 50 amp. Most economical and safe whole home installation is a sliding plate on distribution panel, 30 amp “back feed” breaker, outdoor 30 amp plung-in box, 10 gauge wire (in conduit if exposed and susceptible to damage), 25 ft 240 volt generator connector cable, all for about $200 for DIY’s. DO NOT DEPEND ON ALWAYS REMEMBERING TO TURN OFF THE MAIN BREAKER!!!!!
Question: Prende aires acondicionados?

User questions & answers

Question: Can this generator be hooked up to a larger (100+ gallon) propane tank, with some type of adapter
Answer: You need a POL to QCC1 adapter like this or similar. ( SHINESTAR Propane Tank Gauge and Hoses https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0ILKIJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_dmVNBbFV8KWDT) Just bought one of these generators for my in laws and a new 100# tank right before hurricane Florence.
Question: Can I run a fridge and a freezer
Answer: Definitely. I ran my furnace, fridge, heater for the fish tank, a bunch of lights and phone chargers. Just remember to start the generator first, let it warm up some, pull one thing it at a time and you'll be fine.
Question: What is the decibel noise rating
Answer: Remember folks that this is a air cooled engine which are notoriously noisy engines by design. The engine does have a large muffler which helps a lot with exhaust noise but this generator has a open cabinet and doesn’t have an enclosed cabinet so all the machinery noise from the engine and generator goes everywhere. Noise is relative to different people. If a rattling noise is what bothers you but low sounds don’t bother you, you might consider a more expensive model that is enclosed. If rattles don’t bother you but low sounds do, then this is a good product for you. Personaly I knew what I was buying. An open generator that is going to make some sort of racket so I made a very nice enclosure and mine produces 65db at 5 feet. All generators of this price that are air cooled and not enclosed make a lot of noise. It’s more of a matter of what you or your neighbors can tolerate.
Question: if battery goes dead can it be started manually
Answer: yes, but only if using propane as a fuel source. if using gasoline then the recoil start won't work without a charged battery attached. I have tried it, and Champion customer service confirmed this.

User questions & answers

Question: If ran through either a 120v plug or a 30 amp adapter plug to 1 outlet in the house, is there a limit on how much you can power from one outlet
Answer: definately restricted by the particular wiring in your home to that outlet 15 or 20 amp MAX. Unless your an electircian and know what, when , how, and why, you should not even be thinking about doing this ,and if your were, you would already know what your limits are and if you can do it. SO NO, dont do it!!!
Question: How much oil shoud I put in it. I received the unit but no documentations on the first time oil fill up. Thanks to any and everyone
Answer: 20oz. This is in the supplied manual. Recommended oil is 10W30 for most climates.
Question: What is the decibel level of this generator? I can't find it listed. Thanks
Answer: 69-decibels. generatorfactoryoutlet-dot-com. About like your typical lawn mower. When you have no commercial electricity, it will be the sweetest sound ever.
Question: Is this big enough to power a small house in an outage of several days to a week (I know nothing about electricity and generators). Thanks
Answer: It cannot run your entire house. We typically run a full-size freezer, refrigerator, several lights, and our internet router. I have run this generator for up to 48 hours, but most of our outages are in the 8-12 hour duration. I run this unit 2-3 times per year. I run drop cords from the unit to my critical stuff. It starts easily, and runs 8+ hours on a tank of gas under our load. When the power goes out, it takes me about 10 minutes to roll it out, start it, and get everything plugged in. It has never let me down, would definitely purchase again.

Question: Has anyone gotten a good propane consumption rate yet? The description seems too good to be true....20 hours on a bbq tank
Answer: hello I have a 3500 w strictly propane and used it during Sandy I poweredy whole house by rigging the board .I actually powered the boiler circulating pump for heat 2 refriges and a freezer besides some lights.I had to juggle appliances once in awile but it ran great .I went through a 100 # propane cylinder it took 2/ 12 hour days and one 8hr day running all those appliances. No prob.We actually ran tje washer once during that week cause some people stayed with us
Question: What are the physical dimensions of this generator. Description says 28x30x40, thats huge. Is that right? Is that length width and height? 40" tall
Answer: I just went out and measured mine: 26" tall x 30" wide x 22" deep. I suspect the dimensions given are the packaged dimensions.
Question: Is the propane hose included
Answer: I just got mine and the hose I got is five feet long.
Question: What can i do to stop my propane tank from freezing in at night in the florida summer? this is connected to this generator. help
Answer: Having used quite a few propane heaters, generators, and torches(large ones) I can safely say the best way to stop the frost is to reduce the pressure on the tank. The easiest, simplest safest way to do that is to get a higher volume tank. If a 20lb tank is frosting badly you are drawing it to quickly, try a 40lb or better even a 100lb tank. Your frosting problem will go away.

User questions & answers

Question: Does it come with an oil fill funnel
Answer: Yes, this machine comes with an oil funnel. Thank you.
Question: I see the 100468 parallel kit has a 30a outlet. can you connect this device to only one generator and use that 30a outlet with only 1800 watts power
Answer: 30A at 120Vac is 3600W. Each generator has half that, so 2 are needed. You CAN buy an ADAPTOR for a 30A receptacle, but ~15A is all you can source from a single generator of this size.
Question: Is this unit able to convert to duel fuel
Answer: Unfortunately this model is designed to strictly run on gasoline, not dual fuel. If you are interested in a 2000 watt dual fuel, we recommend looking at our model 100402. Thank you!
Question: Is there a way to drain the fuel out of the carburetor so it doesn't gum up
Answer: I would also spray carb cleaner in there too because draining it is not a fix, it's just better than not draining. They usually have a vent hole in the carb you can spray into, then ideally you run the gen on carb cleaner for a bit to ensure all the gas is out. For example the idle/intermediate jet is extremely small and its emulsion tube will hold fuel after draining. This jet is no fun to clean if plugged. So running it dry is much better than draining, and running it dry on carb cleaner is better still. So if you plan on not using it for a while I'd figure out a way to make that happen. This bs is the #1 reason I use propane. The second reason is storing gas is a pita and imo dangerous, propane is easy and safe. Third is run time on gas isn't very long but even on a little 20lb propane tank it'll run 4x as long. I have a 100lb tank so 20x as long. So imo it's easily worth the extra $ to get the dual fuel version.

User questions & answers

Question: start a 13500 btu AC
Answer: We have a 13,500 BTU A/C in out 2004 Mountaineer and this generator starts and runs it with no problems. We leave the generator in "economy" mode all the time and it naturally revs up when the A/C starts up, but has never failed to do its job. Also, we run it only on propane... it's never had a drop of gasoline in it.
Question: Looks like it would weigh more with the battery and starter. Not much heavier than the 75531i
Answer: Rope start backup.
Question: How to connect to 500 gal tank
Answer: mine is connected to our 500 gal tank but it took some work going back & forth between the tech at champion (have to get the right one) and my propane company. i had propane company put a quick disconnect valve at the house, where the propane goes into the house on the low side of the step down valve, then i had them make me a 20' hose that connects to the diaphragm / hose that champion provides minus their regulator. There is a limit on how long the new hose can be as the pressure will drop with distance and you do need a minimum about of gas pressure for it to work. (see other answer from Champion here). Triple check w/ both Champion & your propane company. Also when you turn it on to run, the gen will have to pull out the air in the hose, takes several short cranks on the gen and if it's cold out you may end up having to pull the cord - takes some practice w/ the choke. Once the propane is flowing it's easier to restart if you don't disconnect the hose from either end. I used it this way for 22 hrs recently and it worked like a charm. Don't forget to check the oil regularly. The diaphragm must be exposed to ambient air pressure but also must stay dry.
Question: Does this come with the lp hose? And what connection is it
Answer: Yes it does. The hose connection is std. 3/8 propane connection like a barbeque uses.

User questions & answers

Question: Can I run my AC
Answer: Air conditioners require a certain amount of power (watts, which equals voltage [120 for plug-in, 240 for most central units] multiplied times current draw in amperes ["amps"]. and that's the running power it needs. But when it starts up, for a brief time is pulls more power to start, and for air conditioners the starting power required is more than for a lighter, easier spinning load like a window fan, so you need to identify the starting power draw. Generator ratings show a running power level and a starting power, compare to ensure you get a sufficiently powerful generator, and include all other loads that will connect to it (lighting, refrigerator, etc.), even though they will be less than most air conditioners, it all adds up.
Question: is this rating "this inverter operates at 64 dBA from 23 feet" at peak draw, or idle
Answer: The industry standard for measuring inverter output is 25% load.
Question: I know the product dimensions are listed but they don't specify which is height, length and width. Can anyone please help me with that? Thanks
Answer: I went out to measure and my approximate measurements are quite different than what's listed. I measured roughly 18inW x 20.5inL x 17.5inHWide I measured across top, front to backLength I measured across front from side to sideHeight I measured from ground to top, including height of gas cap. Hope this helps.
Question: What makes this a hybrid generator? Is it an inverter generator, or something else
Answer: We are using the term hybrid in the sense that we have taken a traditionally fully enclosed inverter style generator and put it on an open frame like a traditionally non-inverter style generator. This allows us to use a larger engine and increase output power while decreasing cost. The trade off is that this machine will be slightly louder than fully enclosed style inverters.

User questions & answers

Question: Does Pulsar offer a running cover for this 12000 watt model? If not does anyone have experience in one that they have purchased they could recommend
Answer: After reviewing I believe the IGAN cover should fit. Also a folding round plastic table works.
Question: Puede realidar conexion directobtqblero a la casa
Answer: Sí, es posible. Pero, además, necesitará un interruptor de transferencia automática y otros equipos no incluidos. Y es probable que necesite la ayuda de un electricista que entienda el código de seguridad local.
Question: What about powering computer equipment such as servers, network equipment, camera systems, etc..etc
Answer: That sounds expensive and possibly delicate. Please consider using a robust inline power conditioner or UPS system. The generator makes plenty of power, your concern should be the integrity of the waveform. Server equipment is probably looking for a very clean sine wave. Tom
Question: Cuantos decibeles
Answer: Around 76. Tom
