Question: Does this product come with the measuring syringe
Answer: Yes it does, but it’s very hard to read when filling and it’s cheap, I would plan on a measuring cup or something else
Question: Is Tenacity safe to use on cenipede grass
Answer: I put it on mine and it seemed to do okay. Just be careful and get the blue dye that is sold with it so you can see the application you put it on. Only go over the area one time where you are trying to kill the weeds. There are some 'youtube' videos that explain how to use this in case you are not aware of them.
Question: Why is this vender so overpriced
Answer: Tenacity is a professional product. If you can find Tenacity at a better price, go for it. It's not overpriced here... It's just not cheap anywhere.
Question: Does this work on clover
Answer: Yes it does. There is a You Tube tutorial about this product and how to use it. Look up Silver Cymbal, a yard guy.

Prevent Weeds All Season Long

Barricade is The Andersons professional-grade pre-emergent weed control. Containing 0.48% of the active ingredient prodiamine, Barricade is one of the best and most cost-effective granular weed preventers on the market. It can be used on established lawns and landscape beds to prevent over 30 grass and broadleaf weeds like crabgrass, goosegrass, foxtail, lambsquarter, henbit and more.

Barricade features The Andersons patented Dispersible Granular (DG) Technology which allows each granule to disperse into thousands of micro particles after coming into contact with water. Because of DG Technology, Barricade can move past the thatch layer of your lawn and into the soil where it prevents the germination of weed seeds.

When To Apply Barricade - Spring and Fall

Barricade is a pre-emergent weed control, which means that is designed to prevent weeds. Application timing is critical to the product's performance.

To prevent summer annual weeds in both northern and southern turf types, apply Barricade in early spring prior to soil temperatures reaching 55 degrees Fahrenheit at a four inch depth. Applying at this time will prevent weed seeds from germinating.

In southern zones, Barricade can be reapplied in the fall to prevent annual winter weeds like poa annua, also known as bluegrass.

Remember, Barricade must receive irrigation or light rainfall of at least .05 inches for the herbicide prevention to activate.

Barricade and Seeding

In the same way that Barricade prevents the germination of weeds, it can also inhibit the germination of turf.

If you already seeded wait 60 days or until after the second mowing, whichever is longer, before you apply Barricade.

How long you should wait to seed or overseed after applying Barricade depends on your climate. Refer to the table below for recommended intervals.

Answer: It says you don't have to, so I didn't..product seems to be working great! Sprayed in May and so far so good.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this kill Japanese Knotweed
Answer: So far, it is doing great damage to my JK, but it's advised to WAIT and spray in the fall when it's in full flower. This is when the plant will carry the poison down to the root. If you spray earlier in the season when it's growing, you'll just kill the foliage and it will grow back again. I'll know more next season, but after a year and a half of failed mechanical control, this seems to be working! The hard part is waiting and letting it flourish until it flowers!
Question: How many square feet does it kill
Answer: John, thank you for your question regarding Roundup Ready-To-Use Weed & Grass Killer III -- with Pump 'N Go 2 Sprayer, Use in & Around Vegetable Gardens, Tree Rings, Flower Beds, Patios & More, Kills to the Root, 1.33 gal. The coverage is 400 square feet for the entire 1.33 gallon container.
Question: how to get a better pump replacement
Answer: I gave up on this because of the pump and cost of the ready to use solution. I went with a 1 gal Chapin 20000 sprayer and I buy the concentrate for it. Much more economical, results are as good and the sprayer is more reliable.
Question: I followed every instruction exactly and the motor turns on, but nothing comes out. What could I be doing wrong
Answer: That just happened to me as well. I realized in my case that the red connector wasn't pushed all the way into the top. I set the bottle down on the ground and with all my weight pushed it in and then it locked in and the chemical came right out. It had to be flush against the top of the bottle to actually come out. Hope that made sense.

Product description

Tenacity herbicide can be used for pre- and post-emergence control of more than 46 broadleaf weed and grass species. Its active ingredient, mesotrione, is based on a naturally occurring compound produced by the bottlebrush plant (Callistemon citrinus) that inhibits photosynthesis in susceptible plant species. It is absorbed by plants through the roots, shoots and leaves and distributed throughout the plant by both xylem and phloem translocation. KEY FEATURES Weeds controlled include crabgrass, ground ivy, yellow foxtail, yellow nutsedge and nimblewill. It also controls unwanted bentgrass. Provides post-emergent control of tough-to-control weeds Controls weeds at seeding reducing weed competition KEY BENEFITS Prevents and controls crabgrass pre or post up to four tillers Eliminates weeds at seeding so new grass can flourish.

  • Tenacity is a systemic pre-emergence and post-emergence herbicide for the selective contact and residual control of weeds in turfgrasses.
  • When applied as a pre-emergent, weeds absorb Tenacity during emergence from the soil.

  • Active Ingredient: Mesotrione 40%

User questions & answers

Question: How much lawn will this 8oz bottle cover? We have .3 of an acre
Answer: The 8 oz bottle will produce 96 gallons of solution using 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water. I forget what the coverage is but it will certainly cover .3 acres using a pump sprayer.I have been using mine on my .5 acre for two years and I have only used about 1/3 of the 8 oz.
Question: Anyone know how tenacity compares to a product called "dismiss"? i have some nutsedge to get rid of and i'm trying to decide which to get. thanks
Answer: tenacity is labeled for nutsedge. . Dismiss is the the better choice, however. Usually with tenacity, you have to apply it at least two to three times, at two week intervals. They are both broad spectrum. Tenaciity's claim to fame is its ability to kill grassy weeds, like Nimblewill. They are both labeled for Goose grass. I don't think Dismiss is labeled for Nimblewill. PS: spectricide makes a good 4 way for the home owner. It has 24d, dicamba, quinchlorac, and sulfantrazone (dismiss). spelling. they sell it on amazon and lowes.
Question: can i apply over
Answer: The official answer is no for most herbicides. Depending on what you're trying to control. Here is a link to one of the best reports I have found - http://archive.lib.msu.edu/tic/golfd/article/2012oct33.pdf. This report shows great results with mid-80 degree temperatures in the control of POA ANA (Which is what I'm challenged with controlling). The general rule of thumb with Tenacity is the higher the temperatures the more applications (small dosage) needed for control. Tenacity has a half-life of 5-15 days depending on the temperatures - the higher temperatures the lower the half-life. The report and other reading also indicates that Tenacity needs to stay in the plant at or above the half life levels for ~ about 14 days or so to gain a high level of control. My advice would be to look for a week when temperatures are expected to average below 90 degrees and make a couple applications during that week and observe the control that you achieve - then goo from there. I experimented for a couple seasons using this report to get a feel for the best application frequency, rates, temperatures and timing (time of year). I hope this is helpful. Good luck and all the best.
Question: what is surfactant? Is it included with tenacity
Answer: A surfactant is a separate product that you add to your applicator tank. It helps the Tenacity stick to leaf blades and better kill the weeds. I used Bonide Turbo spreader sticker. It, or something similar is available in small bottles in garden centers. The ratio I used for nimblewil was 1 teaspoon of Tenacity and four teaspoons of surfactant per 1 gallon of Water.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this product leave a disapating stain so you can see where you sprayed
Answer: Had never stained my concrete driveway nor the rock gardens around my home.
Question: Can you use this around shrubs and trees without killing the shrubs and trees
Answer: Roundup Extended Control Concentrate may be used for spot treatment to kill individual weeds around trees and shrubs, and in flower gardens. Do not allow spray to drift to desirable plants as it will harm them. This product should only be used around well-established plants. Do not use it around the root zone of plants that are less than 6 months old.
Question: The sprayer won't spray, any reason I can't put this in a spray bottle and use it that way? Widowed and appreciate your answers
Answer: yes you can do that.i got a bottle with a sprayer attached. it worked just great.i think round up puts them out too. you can use the bottle for almost anything. i hope this helps.
Question: Does Roundup kill or damage the beneficial microorganisms in soil that help make available important nutrients to food crops
Answer: No it does not kill microbes in the soil. In fact it helps farmers with no till and please let's not give IARC any credibility. It's not regulatory, and found sunlight, alcohol, bacon and salami was cancer causing. Follow the label and you will be fine.

Southern Ag

Based on 6 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Surfactant for herbicides is a wetting agent with 80% non-ionic surfactant for increasing the penetration, coverage & Overall effectiveness of almost any herbicide. Surfactant for herbicides can be used with almost all herbicide sprays including Trimec, atrazine, brush Killer & 2, 4-D amine. Please Check the herbicide product label first to see if a surfactant is recommended. Surfactants reduce the surface tension of water to produce more uniform coverage & penetration of herbicides & Weed killers.

  • Simple to use; just add to tank mix
  • Enables pesticides and herbicides to work better
  • Low cost way to maximize treatment benefit
  • Helps when treating for insects, weeds and fungus

User questions & answers

Question: Why would "AG" not include "sufactant" into their hercercides? Why must customers buy a separate product to make their herbicide more effective
Answer: You would have to ask the company that question. Tablespoon or two of Dawn dishwashing liquid works fine or another brand of your choice. Surfactant (soap) will cause the product you are using to stick and stay on the weed leaves or blades longer producing a better kill.
Question: I want to kill sumac - lots of it. i am using trichlorpyr 4 do i use this stuff and water? and if so, what mix in a 2 gal sprayer
Answer: Sumac like poison ivy its cousin is a woody plant and typical weed killer (broadleaf, crabgrass etc) won't work. I use Round-up's poison ivy specific formula and it works great. Cheaper is Brush-B-Gone which you buy and mix from the concentrate yourself. Both are very effective against these nasty poison ivy family thins. Just be very careful about overspray-- it will absolutely kill adjacent plants you may want.
Question: how much do I mix per gallon of herbicide/water
Answer: I purchased the surfactant product to use with Drive XLR8 Herbicide. The mixing volumes for the surfactant and herbicide per gallon of water are listed in the label directions. As I recall, the surfactant amount was 1 ounce/gallon and the herbicide was 2.5 ounces/gallon. You should google the surfactant product and check for a volume listing. Good luck!
Question: what does surfactant do
Answer: Surfactant allow the liquid it's mixed with to stay on the surface of the water on the algae. Liquid soap does the same thing, but tends to develop suds.

Question: I was planning to drill holes in some fresh cut stumps and inject this to kill the roots. Will that work
Answer: Yes it will kill stumps you have to put it on right after cutting the tree. You don't have to drill holes, "paint" it on the cut part of the stump full strength. I have been doing this for years. This is essentially like spraying the leaves, (for the post emergent guy).
Question: how long does it kill the vegetation for? I am contemplating this or the ortho total vegetation killer that lasts 12 months. Is this better than the o
Answer: Haven't used Ortho's product. We have a pond fed by run off, lot's of wild life and pets so we opt for some amount of "touch up" spraying mid summer if we get some late rains. We like the Glyposate environmental safety record so far, and feel it's worth the effort.
Question: What is the manufacturer's recommended dilution Ratio
Answer: Go to the Ranger Pro Herbicide website and download PDF file for dilution instructions
Question: How long is this effective? If I apply how long after can I plant/grow brassicas cow peas, soybeans etc
Answer: highly effective, equivalent to ingrediants in round up.. you should read instructions on when you can replant. this is the pro strength at 41%. round up over the counter i think is 19%

Question: Does speed zone kills creeping charlie? If it does when is the best time to apply
Answer: Look at the handle and you will see the battery port. I believe there is two screws fastening it to handle.
Question: Is this safe for St.Augustine (Floratam) grass
Answer: I used it on those HORRIBLE thistle weeds that were growing between small pine trees. I was careful, the nozzle is adjustable for narrow stream. It definitely killed them and trees were fine. Make sure ground isn't real wet so that the other plants don't soak it up. If thistles are close to a plant take a piece of cardboard and put a barrier and then hit the thistles. I hope this helps!
Question: Does speed zone work on wild violets
Answer: Kills dandelions. no experience with blackberry, but this stuff works well on all my weeds.
