Question: | I just can't seem to figure out how to program 6 stations. Can someone point me to a link that explains the process in detail |
Answer: | The lowest pressure it works is 0.05Mpa( 7.25psi). |
Question: | I set up my clock for automatic operation. I set for odd days. It started okay for the first two odd days and didn't start the third odd day. Whats wr |
Answer: | I have mine to set to do just that. I set each of the sessions A, B, C, to start at a specific time for a specific duration. If you set the repeat to 24 hours or 1 day, then each program will only run once a day. |
Question: | Does the controller have a master (P/MV) hook up that starts a master control valve as on my older Toro V2-P |
Answer: | Yes, it does. |
Question: | can the lawn master II be hard wired |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this have a full port ball valve? Or is it constricted for mains pressure |
Answer: | They are made in China |
Question: | If the frequency is left off and i turn it to 15min of watering, will it turn on immediately and water for just 15min |
Answer: | I have about 10 of the small ones LM2.004 that I've picked up over the years. All of them are from China. The larger deep throat clamps and long parallel clamps I have are made in Germany. |
Question: | Cat it work with rain barrel |
Answer: | In answer to your question, yes, the bars are 0.6" and would therefore fit in a 3/4" hole. However, I don't see how you would get them into the holes. Neither jaw comes off the bar. |
Question: | My unit is not working even after frequency timer elapses! only works when i set the run time to the "on" state. someone help |
Answer: | I am not certain exactly what you mean, but I can give you some measurements that might help. The distance from the end of the clamp to the face of the fixed jaw is about 0.71 inches, so the fixed jaw would fit into a 1" gap. When the back of the clamp is setting on the bench (standing up as shown in the product description photo), it is about 0.83" up to the top of bar. So the clamp bar would fit under something that is 1" clear of the bench. Hope this helps. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you manually turn on zones from the unit itself without the use of a phone |
Answer: | If you remove the front cover, there are buttons for selecting a zone and running it manually. There are LEDs in a circle around the Rachio logo, numbered to match the sprinkler zones as you select your target zone. Once the zone you wish to water is highlighted, simply press the manual run button. Good in an emergency, but this unit's primary use case is using the app or website. |
Question: | Does this work if wifi is down? What watering schedule does it revert to in this case? Will the app alert me |
Answer: | The Iro utilizes EEPROM, persistent memory, so the last saved schedule(s) are stored on the device itself. So Please rest assured knowing that if the Iro loses connectivity with your WiFi, it will always continue to water using the last saved. Any updates/changes to these watering schedules will upload to the Iro the next time it reconnects with the cloud. You will receive an e-mail notifying you that it is off line. |
Question: | Can you manually start/stop zones via the app? When working on the system I would love to not walk back to the garage for this |
Answer: | Yes. You can manually start/stop each zone individually from the app, as well as adjust how many minutes each zone is on. |
Question: | What's are the differences between gen 1 and gen |
Answer: | The sync up is totally different in that just approaching the devise with you smart devise it will ask for the serial number and then you are linked with the unit. There are several manual cycles when you do not have wifi available during initial installation. There is the function of the using flow sensors in the future. There is much more space for the valve wires. There is the visual of what valve is operating during the irrigation cycle on the controller to name a few. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it turn on my well pump |
Answer: | Yes, the DDC can activate a well pump as long as a 24 VAC starter relay, or pump relay, is attached to the “M” (Master Valve) terminal with one wire and the other wire coming from the relay is attached to the “C” (Common) terminal screw. |
Question: | Is this comparable to the C1935139 serial number |
Answer: | This controller operates 8 zones, uses digital interface versus a traditional dial, and is designed to be installed outdoors OR indoors. Other than that, the controllers perform the same functions. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the software the only way to setup a schedule? And will this work on a Mac |
Answer: | You can create schedules on the device itself. We didn't try to setup with the software. So, therefore, we don't know if it works on a Mac. Sorry and good luck. |
Question: | Does this adjust both runtimes and the days per week for the schedule |
Answer: | Yes, this unit is capable of shutting down the system completely if weather conditions are such that irrigation is not required. |
Question: | Does the unit have a battery backup if you lose power |
Answer: | The Toro 53855 does not require a battery to retain the watering schedule, it has Non-volatile memory to retain this information during power loss. |
Question: | My Toro controller goes from 10 minutes to 1 minute in the manula run mode. I changed the battery and unplugged the unit for 45 minutes. Same result |
Answer: | It sounds as though your controller may have been exposed to some form of power surge. If the product is under warranty, I would suggest exchanging it for a new one. Sorry about any inconvenience. |
Question: | Is this comparable to the C1935139 Toro sprinkler control system model |
Answer: | Yes, they are similar controllers. However, this model of Lawn Master II controller only operates 4 zones versus 12. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What's the BONUS? Does this include a RAIN SENSOR? REMOTE? What does the remote control? ON/OFF? Rain Sensor? Neither mentioned in WHAT'S IN THE BOX |
Answer: | The bonus is the time pod and scheduling software(I would recommend downloading the newest version from toro). This does not include a rain sensor but it does have a connection so one can be added. In the box you will find the timer, power supply, time pod, scheduling program and manual. |
Question: | Will this support a rain sensor and a soil moisture sensor at the same time? There is only one sensor terminal |
Answer: | I use both. There is not problem with both. It appears the soil moisture sensor has 1st determination about watering. |
Question: | I havean older Toro model. will this replace it without a lot of problems |
Answer: | I replaced my old 'gatekeeper' model with no problems. |
Question: | What's included with "Bonus-Pack" besides timer itself |
Answer: | I just received this package on Tuesday (9-22-2015), to replace a similar model that I 'broke' (my fault). The package (Bonus-Pak) includes exactly the following items:EC-XTRA Landscape Timer with 3 modules for 6 zones, expandable to 10 zones by adding 2 more modules).Time Pod (download the software for free from ecxtra.com). This is the 'bonus' as I see it.AC adapter.Mount plate for wall mounting (including two screws).Quick Start guide. |
Product description
The Toro Wireless RainSensor is a water conservation device that meets legislative standards in states and municipalities with mandates. The RainSensor works by absorbing rainwater and then responds by interrupting power to the valves. The Wireless RainSensor will then gradually dry out, as does the soil, allowing sprinklers to run as scheduled. The rain sensitivity can be adjusted from .125 to 1 inch. The Wireless RainSensor is easy to install using the "Quick Clip" gutter bracket tool free. Because it is wireless, there is not wire required to communicate between the sensor and the controller. The sensor has a 300 feet (line of sight) range. The weatherproof receiver can be mounted indoors or outdoors. The Wireless RainSensor is compatible with any sprinkler timer and does not interfere nor change the timer's programming. Operating temperature -20 to 140 degrees F. Transmitter battery level indicator. 5-year replaceable battery (battery included; standard CR2032.) UL and FCC Approved.

User questions & answers
Question: | What is in the box |
Answer: | When I bought this wireless rain sensor 11 years ago it came with a remote sensor sending unit that I attached to the edge of my roof and a receiving unit that I connected to my Toro irrigation controller in my garage. Sensor and receiver are about 60 feet apart. It continues to work well after 11 years. I've replaced the battery in the remote transmittr a couple of times. It was trivial to install. I see that Amazon no longer sells it directly but refers you to other sellers. I cannot find this sensor on the Toro website. All they sell now is a wired sensor, which I would not buy because of my house geometry. While it's a nice gadget, if you anticipate rain you could just put your controller on rain delay. I frequently end up doing that anyway as I'm a hands-on kind of guy. Some of my neighbors often water during a rainstorm and shortly thereafter. I'm astounded to find that I paid $83.95 for this device in 2009. I don't know what came over me. I guess I thought it was cool at the time. |
Question: | Does this item work with a Rainbird ESP-ME controller |
Answer: | Not sure. But it should. It did work with Hunter Controller for two seasons and then craped out and tossed in the garbage. Waste of money! |
Question: | do I need to buy a separate 24 vac power supply in order for it to work with my rainbird sst 6ooI since the 600 does not have separate 24v terminals for the red power wires |
Answer: | No, you do not as long as you power supply is 24 vac. This product, in my case, lasted only 3 summers in spite of the fact that I stored the sensor in doors during winter season. I switched to wire rain sensors that works well and has 5 years warrant. |
Question: | Is this a normally closed or normally open type wireless sensor |
Answer: | It has both NC and NO contacts. However, for most applications, the NC (normally closed) contact would be used. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How long are the wires to connect to the valve |
Answer: | 36" is about average-never really measured- |
Question: | do i need to purchase one or more latching solenoids to operated the valves for my sprinkler system |
Answer: | Yes--you will need to purchase the low-voltage ones. The regular valves have a higher voltage requirement. I bought these:Rain Bird TBOSPSOL TBOS Potted Latching Solenoid |
Question: | Mine goes through batteries every 2 weeks, even if its off schedule and not running for days. Any idea why and how long should they last |
Answer: | Took me a while to realize it takes 2 batteries. I was just replacing one. |
