Answer:	If you remove the front cover, there are buttons for selecting a zone and running it manually. There are LEDs in a circle around the Rachio logo, numbered to match the sprinkler zones as you select your target zone. Once the zone you wish to water is highlighted, simply press the manual run button. Good in an emergency, but this unit's primary use case is using the app or website.
Question:	Does this work if wifi is down? What watering schedule does it revert to in this case? Will the app alert me
Answer:	The Iro utilizes EEPROM, persistent memory, so the last saved schedule(s) are stored on the device itself. So Please rest assured knowing that if the Iro loses connectivity with your WiFi, it will always continue to water using the last saved. Any updates/changes to these watering schedules will upload to the Iro the next time it reconnects with the cloud. You will receive an e-mail notifying you that it is off line.

There are several manual cycles when you do not have wifi available during initial installation. There is the function of the using flow sensors in the future. There is much more space for the valve wires. There is the visual of what valve is operating during the irrigation cycle on the controller to name a few.

Question:	Can you connect a rain sensor to this device
Answer:	Yes, the timer supports a physical rain sensor in addition to the smart watering rain delays. The app does not currently recognize the physical rain sensor but the timer will work properly. Unplug the timer before connecting any external accessories including rain sensors.
Question:	How does the smart watering featuring obtain the weather conditions? What service does it use
Answer:	Be very wary of this feature. Where we live in Texas there is sometimes a weather forecast with "Rain". That might mean the briefest of showers - like 1 or 2 minutes, a handful of drops of rain - but it shuts the system down for 2 days. (I changed my location to Death Valley, California - apparently it hasn't rained there all year so my watering has not been shut off).
Question:	How does this compare to Rachio
Answer:	SG, in an effort to avoid sales-y language coming from one of the two brands in question, we'll stick to the overall differences between the two controllers (and leave it to other customers to talk about their own experiences with the B-hyve):- B-hyve can be installed in indoor or outdoor settings, as opposed to Rachio being indoor-only- B-hyve comes in 6- and 12-station models, while Rachio comes in 8- and 16-station models - B-hyve is fully programmable from both the app and at the timer with buttons/screen to make any manual adjustments needed, while Rachio is programmed solely from the app with no controls/screen at the actual timer- Orbit’s B-hyve models typically retail at $100 and $120, while Rachio’s models typically retail at $200 and $250

Answer:	Looked on the Orbit web site, discussion board - lots posted there about this subject: seems there is lots of frustration about Orbit not providing an ETA for google home/assistant compatibility. Answer:	Hi, this is Janice from Orbit! Yes, all B-hyve can use the catch cup programing even the hose timers 21005.
Question:	Can you turn off the weathersense feature
Answer:	Yes, but it’s not intuitive. You have to do a deep dive into the preferences settings. As I recall, there is one of the four programs that is set to weathersense and you have to turn that one off or set it up To behave like a standard channel. It’s been awhile so I don’t remember the details but you can definitely turn it off.
Question:	Dose it come with power supply cord
Answer:	It comes with a 24 volt AC power pack. One of those wall watt power supply. You run low voltage wires from that wall wart to the controller. I was replacing old controller and used the already existing transformer as the 24 VAC is standard for these.
Question:	Does this work with Alexa
Answer:	Yes. See https://www.amazon.com/Orbit-Irrigation-B-Hyve/dp/B01NAWBABM. I have one and Alexa can start it to watering or better yet tell me when it will be starting next as well as providing when last watered. I am happy with unit and think it provides good value. Mine is installed in a protected area inside a garage and has replaced a 20 year old electronic timer. This is far superior in convenience. Even if you use manual programs they are far easier to program on this than on the older systems. Smart watering is the way to go though.

Answer:	This unit does NOT wire to the breaker. Transformer type is 110V-120V plug via adapter. The unit is rated for outdoor use (weatherproof), but I have mine mounted to the wall in my garage. Answer:	My Hunter controller was damaged by lightning recently (no sign of directly hit neither). First lightning damage in my lifetime. I bet this so-called outdoor device is not properly grounded.

Answer:	Pam, the XC600 is the outdoor version, it has a protective door and is typically hardwired. The XC600I is the indoor version and is typically plugged into a wall and does not have the protective door.

Answer:	NO you can NOT set this to water on select days of the week like the Orbit Model 56544. Watering every 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. day, is not the same as watering every Monday and Wednesday. This device can water every second day which will mean it will water every other day regardless of the day of the week. Which also means that the watering day will eventually become a guess. REASON: The clock model in this device is not a clock/calendar. Hope that helps.

Answer:	Each Outlet should cover a different zone are you run the risk of over watering an area. Each dual faucet can be set to water independent of the other. I live in Texas so I set each outlet to water at 7am and 7pm to get the maximum spread at the best time for the ground to gather water before it evaporates. The duration can be set from 1 minute to 60 minutes.

Answer:	You will be replacing the rain bird controller with the Rachio. I swapped out my rain bird and it works fine. Just make sure you are labeling each wire with the zone number it is connected to before disconnecting the rain bird. When you connect the Rachio, match the labels and you'll be fine. If you are installing this outdoors, make sure you buy the outdoor housing (sold separately).
Question:	Does this have a setting for a delay between zones? The controller i'm replacing does not have this delay,it switches between zones fast, hammers pipe
Answer:	Yes, at least with my gen 3, a feature to reduce water hammer will turn on the next zone 10 seconds early allowing no abrupt stop at the end of a zone run. Excerpt from Rachio help: What is Rachio's "Minimize Water Hammer" setting? With this setting, your Rachio Smart Sprinkler Controller will open the 'next' scheduled zone to run in a watering schedule, 10 seconds prior to the end time of the current zone that is running.

Answer:	Despite the answers above, the answer is YES. You can create a separate schedule just for the zone you desire and make it a fixed schedule. You can turn off all the features and that will make it run even if it’s raining or windy or whatever. Than create schedules for the rest of the zones with all the weather features you like.

The Galcon 7101D Irrigation controller is a rugged design Battery Operated watering sprinkler controller. It was designed with varied landscape environments in mind. The 7101D controller is ideal for automated operation of Drip and Hose sprinkler systems with the inline irrigation valve. The 7101D irrigation timer controller is completely waterproof and can be installed either above or below grade. This gives the flexibility to install the regulator in a valve box or in other areas where the controller can be submerged in water (up to 3 feet).

Question:	Can this be used as a propagation timer
Answer:	Both are colored drawing pencils, but the BIG difference is the Inktense actually are "ink", meaning once the color dries it is permanent, unlike the watercolor types such as Prisma, which if you lay down a blue, let it dry and add a yellow they will softly blend and make greens depending on how much you work them because they are water soluble. Inktense will NOT react to water after they dry; so that blue you layed down will not "blend" or lift so it may stay very blue looking or look green where the blue shows "through" the yellow. Also the Inktense are brighter and more intense. Buy both, and use watercolor pencils where you want a softer look, and the inktense where you want intensity.
Question:	How is the battery compartment accessed
Answer:	Just rub across scrap paper until no color shows up. Nib may still look colored but no color comes off on scrap paper
Question:	Are the electronics waterproof
Answer:	Derwent Blender pens are designed for use with pencils; they allow the artist to blend away pencil lines, creating smooth and even colour and are effective with both colour and graphite pencils.
Question:	Can this timer be set to water every 15-30 days? Most timers will only allow a maximum of a 7 day watering cycle. I have a flower bed with cactus
Answer:	I have never tried using the Derwent Blender Pens with my Inktense watercolor pencils because the blender pens are used for wax base pencil and the inktense are water blended. Try it on a scratch paper but I would not be surprised if it didn't work. You could use a water brush to help in blending your inktense pencils.

what voltage is this

Answer:

I happened to be working on another latching valve so I got the hang of how these work. Here are the specifications from the manual: GCS3051 two wire solenoid 6-18 VDC pulse (latch) depending on condenser. Resistance: 3Ω. Electrical data: Required length of pulse: 20-100 milliseconds. The pulse length is not as critical as long as it is more than the amount of time that the voltage you are using. The current causes the valve to latch , either open or closed. If the pulse is too short, the valve doesn't open or too long will only heats up the coil and waste power. You open and close the valve by reversing the polarity. I have set up a dual relay with a 6 volt battery connected so the the valve is connected to the armature (center connector), Ground connected to both Normally Closed (NC) and the Positive connected to the Normally closed. I switch the valve by activated one or the other of the relays. You can also connect a flow meter to measure flow. I am using a 6 Volt SLA battery with a solar charger but am skeptical about how long 2 x 9v batteries would last since the coil is only 3 ohms and draws a fair amount of current for each latch change.

Question:	How does this work compared to the scarecrow? need to keep a herring out of my Koi pond
Answer:	I have used this on my Koi pond for many years now with great success. So I don't get sprayed during the day.... my water supply has a battery timer.... The timer is set for 10PM tp 8 AM..... so simple..... works great and I can set the time for it to work.
Question:	There seems to be an additional part in my package that is about 2" long and 1" high that is not part of assembly instructions. Any clue as to what this is
Answer:	The extra item drove me nuts for about 30 minutes. Until i figured out that it is simply a screw on replacement part so the "helmet head sensor" can be mounted by sliding the square part on the "valve square front. This lowers the "Helmet sensor" to be about eye level with like a rabbit or cat. Simply unscrew the all black small round knob that is on the "helmet sensor" remove the screw and remove the piece you just detached (the 4 inch bracket that has a round hole that would normally fit the vertical pipe shaft. Now replace that 4 inch part with the smaller 2 inch long part that has a square end and a round end. Push the screw thru the round end and into your "helmet sensor" (it only fits one way), then hook it/slide it onto the sensors square front. The "helmet sensor" now just sits there, not exactly a secured in a long term way but i guess it works.
Question:	What happens if a human steps on the lawn? Will that turn on and spray on a person? I don't want it ends up spraying on myself
Answer:	Yes, if you trigger the motion detection, and you are in the area of spray, you will get sprayed, just like a deer or rabbit would. If you need to be there and don't want to get sprayed, you will need to turn it off temporarily.
Question:	Will it work on mailmen delivering bills
Answer:	Shannon, yes it will work on things as large as humans, though we can't promise that they won't return with said bills at a later date.

Answer:	Yes, the top should spin which produces the unique water pattern and distance. The top "floats" in the barrel type nut that secures it to the main unit.
Question:	Where do I get an adaptor
Answer:	I just use with a regular hose. It comes with an extra adapter but it fits with a regular garden hose.
Question:	What pressure is required for better function
Answer:	if you have high water pressure the the spray tips will go flying off into space, never to be seen again.i'v had two of these, one a replacement, and same problem.possibly a design flaw.if you have low water pressure you might be ok
