Answer:	It is sulfate free. It contains 'sulfosuccinate' which is not technically a sulfate. It's still more of a chemical than you'd get from raw vegan products, but no worse than you'd get from Body Shop stuff four times the price. I really have not ever felt it's harsh or stripping. One of my pals used to harsh sulfates even said 'I don't think it's getting my hair clean' which means, he's not used to the NON-STRIPPED feeling in his hair! :) Hope this helps.

Answer:	The vertical appendage,( normally positioned between the 2 horizontal appendages), will flip upwards, out of the way of the 2 horizontal appendages. Just flick the vertical app. upwards. The horizontal appendages can also be adjusted to accommodate the width of coverage, (you will need to flip vertical appendage down, in between the horizontal apps.) If this explanation is not clear, just put on some swim trunks, hook to hose, sit down behind unit, and flip, flick away all wire looking appendages and you'll be a pro within 1 minute. Everything is adjustable for one reason or another...just play around with it. Don't be embarrassed...it took me awhile to get it also and then I trained my neighbors...Good luck. P>S> They don't last that long either, especially if they get a lot of use.
