Question:	It is wood barrel or plastic
Answer:	The barrel is definitely not made of wood - it is made of some form of plastic. The wood grain finish only looks like it is made from wood.
Question:	Can you remove the cover to clean the barrel
Answer:	You can't remove the cover. There is an opening with a removable screen that's approx 3" by 12" for filling. You could mop it out with the right tool.
Question:	The description States plastic spicket and another description says brass spicket can you tell me which one it is
Answer:	I bought it a few weeks ago and today it's the first time I try to use the rain water we got last week. The spigot is definitely plastic and it doesn't fit my regular sized hose, even with plumbing tape. Crap.

Answer:	I purchased my first of these barrels Sept. 2013. It looked so nice that I purchased two more May of 2014. I can attest that all these barrels still bow out when filled 3/4 or more. I have paving sand perfectly level, then concrete blocks on this & the barrel sitting securely and supported by the large blocks. Even though they do bow, mine have been going back into shape after some of the water is used. You will need to set them out 7 or 8 in from your house, because the bowing will push them forward. Because a portion of the time the barrel is being used it may be bowed, the screen insert will not fit firmly in the recessed area it's made for allowing mosquitos and such to get in. I sprinkle a few mosquito bits in the tank. It's annoying, but - NO - the company has not corrected this problem by making a thicker product. I intend to contact them about this. More people should, because otherwise, it's a very nice barrel that holds up cosmetically outside without fading out.

Question:	How do you get the spout to stop leaking
Answer:	I have 3 barrels and none of my spouts leak. I follow the directions when I received the barrels.

Answer:	Not a dumb question! We buy cheaper whiskey and "age" it (at least 30 days) in the barrel which improves the taste.

Answer:	Plastic plastic lining defeats the purpose of utilizing the oak to age or store liquor. If you’re using it as a serving vessel it’s fine but age age liquor or flavor it the plastic would present that

Question:	Will the barrels still hold water? I would like to use it as a rain barrel
Answer:	Depends on where it's leaking from. I did some prep work on mine first to try and eliminate leaking from around the spout. The spout is cone shaped, while the hole is cylinder shape, not exactly the best of matches. So I sanded down the thickest portion on the spout, and did the same in reverse to the hole (wrapped sandpaper around spout, set in hole and rotated it). When seating it, I pushed it in far as I could, then I set a small block of wood on top of it, and gave it some taps with a hammer (not hard) and that seated it. Mine will still drip from time to time as the temperature changes. The air inside will expand/contract (that's what pushes liquid inside/outside of wood) and it'll drip from around (or through) the spout. But not much, a drop or two. Here's an idea, try dripping some hot wax at the location of any leaks. Hope the wall of text helps!

Question:	Is it possible to get a longer piece for connecting two barrels? The piece that came with it is a little too short
Answer:	Hello Margaret, The overflow and connector hose is 1.5" backwash hose for swimming pools. Contact your local swimming pool supply store. They may have the backwash hose on a big roll and can cut you whatever length you require.
Question:	Can you also scoop out water from the top with a gallon bucket
Answer:	The axle-like crossbars are built into the main plastic of the barrel itself, so as another person noted, you cannot use a bucket to scoop water out unless you cut those out. Even then, it would have to be a small bucket. A five gallon one would not fit. The other problem for us is that we don't have gutter downspouts, so much of the incoming water will be deflected by this top structure. When they are only about half full, using the bottom hose will be quite slow. A friend gave these to us and we will probably have to cut them, but as was also mentioned, that might somewhat reduce the integrity of the structure.
Question:	Will this hold up in freezing temperatures
Answer:	No, the expansion of frozen water will burst the sides. The manufacturer suggests you drain it and turn it upside down, the you can leave it outside.
Question:	so the screen lifts off so you could access inside in case there is debris or to clean
Answer:	you can clean the inside by rinse it but not completely able to access. Its because they have 3 non-detachable bars on top of barrel to support screen. I think it also severed as safety for any cats and dogs not easly fall into the barrel. this barrel is higher than most people's arm length so rinse it is properly the only way to clean it. with the screen on it, its hardly any debris going in. I am going to empty it and clean it once a year before the winter. Hope this helps. Overall, its good one and working well in my back yard.
