Question:	Does the gear box have to be lubed annually if its enclosed
Answer:	There was no grease or oil on mine out of the box. First thing I did after assembly was follow the lubrication instructions in the manual.
Question:	Will this work with sand
Answer:	I've only used it for salt. If the sand is coarse it should work without running out through the gate. If the sand is too fine I think it will leak by no matter how tightly you close the feed gate.
Question:	What is the height of the handles off the ground? i'm 6'4" and most spreaders are too short for me
Answer:	The overall height would be 33.63" for this spreader.
Question:	Is there a chart to set Agway spreader settings to match the settings on Scott's fertilizer bags
Answer:	There is no chart. The manual says that for light applications, set the opening to 3, medium 4, heavy 5. That really doesnt tell you S***. My solution is fairly simple. Set your Scotts, or whatever you are using, to the setting recommended on the bag. Measure the width of the opening. If the length of the opening is anywhere close to the opening on your walk behind, set your agri fab to the same width. That should give you very close to the setting you need for your agri fab

Question:	will this spreader adjust to narrow sections of my lawn (apx 3' wide
Answer:	I can’t imagine why you would want to kill them, but yes. I suppose if you plan on spraying them with enough concentrated liquid they will die. Especially if they are a very young plant. Do not try and eat the berries afterwards if you plan on spraying them. No amount of herbicide is good for your body. If maybe for some reason you’re asking to protect your blue berries. I would advise you not to spray them. Make sure the wind is not blowing towards the area. Keep your spray low towards the ground. If you do spray them and want to keep them. I suggest you grab a hose and wash the chemicals off right away and keep on watering the plant. You’ll notice any damage 3-14 days after the spray. Most mature plants can come back from a small amount of chemical spray. The chemicals cycle is still about six weeks. So don’t eat the berries if you plan on spraying it!
Question:	how hard is it to assemble
Answer:	Would not recommend. 24-D kills broadleaves but doesn't kill grasses and grains. Your flowers might be ok but your herbs would be at risk. Leafy herbs like sage, basil, mint, oregano etc. might be affected by the spray. It depends on how far they are from the area being sprayed.

Answer:	Yes, this is exactly what you need. It will kill broadleaf plants such as hosta but not damage your grass as long as you mix as directed.

Answer:	The instruction manual comes with a Application Chart that designates Type Material, Flow Setting and Spread Width in both feet and meters.

Question:	How many pounds of fertilizer does this spreader hold
Answer:	It hold the contents of a 5000 sq ft Scott’s fertilizer product. Think that is about 15-20 lbs. nice unit but you have to be careful on the opening since there is no established way to know in advance the flow. Trial and error. Start at low setting and take it slowly step by step.
Question:	Anything I have ever spread just gives scotts spreader settings, so how do you know what the equivalent setting is using the earthway
Answer:	The spreader comes with a chart that you can use. You basically look at the lbs of the bag you bought vs the sq ft that the bag says it covers. You can use those numbers in the chart to get a value, then you look at another chart it came with and that tells you the setting to use on the spreader. I can't say it is 100% accurate, but that is how they say to do it. I used mine for the first time a few weeks ago and the amount coming out seemed about what I thought it should. Hope that helps.

Answer:	yes, on the left side
Question:	Can you broadcast pellets like milorganite and shin nong pro
Answer:	I bought mine to use to spread Milo. I usually throw down 12 bags. Sadly, this spreader doesn’t hold an entire bag so I had to refill constantly. I ended up buying a Lesco 80lb spreader and called it a day. It can fit nearly 3 bags at a time. I also use BayState Fertilizer which is similar to Milo and. I can fit 2 of the 40lb bags easily. One other thing I wasn’t a fan of was it seemed like products like grubex empties way too quickly when on the “correct” setting, so make sure you use your judgement and adjust the setting as you go. Answer:	One gallon! Round Up comes in 2 1/2 gallon containers.

Answer:	It is Trimec!... I have used it ovr 25 years and nothing can beat it as I kills over 200 weeds! You just have to make sure that if you are using a lawn sprayer, that you do not apply more that 1 and 1/2 ounce per gallon of water. For an average size yard, a gallon will last you 2-3 years! much cheaper than a lawn service! just do not let it freeze in your garage over the winter.
Question:	Is there any type of warranty on this spreader
Answer:	I received the Gordon’s brand, as pictured. Be sure to add 1-2 Tbs. of dish soap as a surfactant to your mixture to help the Trimec ‘stick’ to the leaves. This is also available at Bomgaar’s and Fleet Farm if you have either of those stores nearby. Some Home Depot’s also sell it by the quart. Good luck!

Answer:	Yes, it can be used for both seed, fertilizer, salt, etc. The assembly instructions/diagrams are a little weak, but if you are used to assembling items then you should have no problems. I did use it for salt and it worked great and I tend to buy the cheap course salt. I am going to buy another one to keep at our rental property. Happy spreading!!
Question:	Does this specific item come with the salt deflectors
Answer:	Yes it has them
Question:	Will this spread sand
Answer:	Not likely. The gears in the unit are plastic and didn’t last but one winter when I used it to spread salt. The only possible way it will spread sand is if the sand is 100% dry and you only spread 10 pounds of it at a time. Good luck.
Question:	Why does it say not to be used with magnesium chloride
Answer:	If the Chapin 82088 spreader is not properly maintained, prolonged exposure of hopper, frame and steel parts to magnesium chloride can develop surface rust. This is why it is not recommended for use with magnesium chloride.

Question:	do the tires have inner tubes
Answer:	I have not used this for salt. However, it does a good job as a fertilizer spreader, and does not throw material back on the operator. The assembly instructions were probably written by a Chinese first grader, but if you take your time and think, it is not too difficult to assemble. The instructions do not tell you to grease the gears before you assemble, but I would HIGHLY recommend you do so prior to assembly.
Question:	Does this have stainless steel parts
Answer:	Yes it does. Just have to keep a eye on it bcuz seed will clog up

Answer:	Hi, No there is not.

Answer:	We have a John Deere 320 and it works great.

Answer:	I used in 15 acres with fertilizer and worked very good . Spayed in a width of around 15 ft. I suppose that it will work similar for seeds but I have not tried for that

Answer:	I have used this 4 or 5 times and didn't notice any damage or strain. I am assuming you are asking because the augar stick would be spinning backwards. The spreader works very well and is very stable because the tub sits lower then most others and is perpendicular with the axle not parralel over the wheels

Answer:	I am not sure what these guys are talking about, but I was completely satisfied with this spreader. It is sturdy and not cheaply made. If you assemble it correctly, you will not have a problem. Agri Fab is a US company and their mfg plant is in Ill. Dont believe the fake news!

Question:	If used for salt in the winter, does the salt need to be removed and the tank cleaned after each use
Answer:	Always use clean, dry material and be sure the remove all unused material from the hopper after each use. Damp materials will cause material flow problems and material freezing problems in cold temperatures.When using the spreader for salt or ice melts it is imperative that the spreader is thoroughly cleaned to prevent corrosion causing premature failure of the product.
Question:	Will this attach to the 2" hitch on my utv
Answer:	This spreader is designed to attach to your ATV rack. If you need to attach a spreader to your hitch, you will need Swisher's 20110 UTV Spreader.
Question:	Can this spread corn
Answer:	No way, the kernels would be too big. Maybe cracked corn.
Question:	Can the gate (not just the motor) be controlled from the cab
Answer:	No
