Answer:	I live in New England and we are growing ours indoors. I planted all 4 varieties on October 15th 2020 and only have had success with 2 of the 4 . Here we are at almost 2 months later and I can see what looks like a 1 1/2 inch weed growing (the weed looking growth showed itself about a month in) and I am hopeful that they somehow transform into 2 trees in time. I am disappointed that nothing happened with the other 2 varieties.

Answer:	I hate to break it to everyone, but not a single person who buys this will ever have an actual bonsai. Bonsai are not grown from seed. The trunk-like appearance that bonsai have will simply never come about in a small pot. The Brazilian Rosewood and Flame Tree do, however, need a hotter temperature soil to sprout, so you may want to either wait until summer when there isn't a chance of cold drafts coming in or invest in a heating mat for your seeds. Answer:	Hi there! All plants need to be fertilized when kept in a controlled environment; otherwise, the soil will become deficient, and the plant will have nothing to convert to energy. Think of it as a bowl of soup; you take a few bites and add water to make it look full again. You take a few more bites and then add more water. Eventually, it will be all water and no soup and of little to no nutrient value. Without adding sustenance, they'll be living on water alone. It's better to keep these bonsai indoors where they can have a temperature-controlled environment. When they're tiny, they need a little bit of sheltering until they can grow big and strong. Guide To Germinating Your Seeds

1 DAY BEFORE (16-24H) Pres-sowing instructions

A day before sowing the seeds ,soak the seeds in warm water for 16-24 hours. The seeds will absorb the water and swell. This process will improve the chance for germination.

1st STAGE (10 min+10 min) Expand the soil discs 5 times big

Place the soil discs in a large bowl and poor 3 cups of warm water.Wait for the discs to expand about 10 minutes. Check for any hard unexpanded piece. Add more water if necessary but do not over saturate the soil. Let the soil cool down for another 5-10 minutes.

2nd STAGE (1 min) Drain the soil

Overly saturated soil may cause Seeds mold. Drain the soil well by firmly squeezing it to remove any excess water until the soil is just slightly moist.

3rd STAGE (5 min) Sow the seeds

Place the soil inside the pot until it is almost full. Keep a small portion of soil aside for covering the seeds. Sprinkle about 2-6 seeds per pot. Excessive amounts of seeds may affect germination. DO NOT sow more than the advised amount above. Cover the seeds with the remaining soil(about 0.5 inch).Gently even out the soil but do not compact it.

1 x Week Water and sunshine

Water at least once a week or as soon as soil begin to feel day. Keep soil moist but not saturated. Place your pots in a well ventilated area to prevent diseases caused by fungi, bacteria and viruses. Expose your pots to at least 6-8 hours of indirect sun per day. Cover the wood box at night to keep warm.

Growing Transplant your pots

By the time seedings reach 3-4 inches,they will start fighting for space, water nutrients and sunlight. To help the stronger ones you can cut the weaker seedlings at the soil level. The stronger seedlings should be spaced about 1 inch apart for proper growth. You can choose to transplant your pots outdoors. If you want to do that, you will first need to get our plants accustomed to outdoor elements. Slowly increase the time your plants are exposed to wind and sunlight every day before placing them outdoor. Start for example at 3-4 hours a day and gradually increase every day. During winter try to place your pots indoor. If you cannot, you will need to cover the plants to prevent frosting.

Answer:	If you've already done the 6wks in refrigerator sunlight shouldn't matter too much until it sprouts. Just be sure to keepit moist. The soil or coconut husk it came with keeps moisture well. Soak it good at first then a little water daily.

The Ficus religiosa tree is considered sacred by the followers of Buddhism. Gautama Buddha attained enlightenment while meditating underneath a Ficus religiosa. The site is in present-day Bodh Gaya in Bihar, India. The original tree was destroyed and has been replaced several times. A branch of the original tree was rooted in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka in 288 BCE and is known as Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi; it is the oldest flowering plant in the world.

This plant works particularly well as a mini bonsai, but is also a great houseplant because it appreciates warm temps in the winter months making it a perfect choice for anyone in the city or who does not have the benefits of a yard. Question:	I've killed three trees; they live outdoors, quarter day sun, watered every other day - they flourish, go dormant in winter, then die! Any thoughts
Answer:	I would recommand using bonsai soil with very well drainage. Also have slow release fertilizer on top of the soil so the tree can get nutrients because after a while the tree roots will suck up all the nutrients from the soil inside the pot. If your location is too cold, windy, and have snows, most bonsai will die. Even expert have a hard time keeping them alive. I have been purchasing bonsai for over 8 years. I killed the same type of plant I purchased from this seller when I was living in st.louis cold winter. However, now I live in Vegas, the plant is doing very well. Either your water not enough or too much or the weather of you location killed the plant

Answer:	Definitely needs some time outside. Mine was drying out frequently indoors and I was watering it to much in my opinion. As it is a tree I felt it needed more natural sunlight (morning 2 mid afternoon exposure) indirect and a portion of direct sunlight. I also kept it out overnight on my back porch occasionally. I like to give all my bonsai fresh air and real sunlight at least a couple times a wk. They seem HaPPier..... P.s they actually get more vibrant color .....my opinon

Answer:	I had mine outside during the day time so they can get some air and sunlight. I leave it indoor for display during night time. It is doing very well and new leaves forming after 2 months. What is a Bonsai?

Literally, the Japanese word 'bonsai' means 'tray tree' or 'plant grown in a pot'. The term refers to the artistic techniques used to capture the natural beauty of trees, rather than a specific variety of tree. A full-grown tree and a bonsai can be grown from the same seed --the bonsai has simply been dwarfed and shaped through years of training. To develop authentic bonsai, Brussels grows specimens under carefully controlled conditions, meticulously training each tree with wire and pruning over a period of years. The value of a particular bonsai typically depends on size, age, and training. Generally, more expensive trees are larger, older, and have had more detailed, elaborate training. These qualities combined create the illusion of a large tree in a natural setting.

Most bonsai trees can live up to 100 years or more depending, of course, on the quality of care they receive.

Climate and Placement

Suited to bright, humid, equatorial climates, tropical bonsai prefer common room temperatures, between 65 and 75 degrees F, 3 to 4 hours of direct sunlight, and humidity levels of about 75%. If your home tends to be dry, a cool mist humidifier or ceramic bonsai humidity tray can help mimic the moist, tropical climate ideal for growing indoor bonsai.

Indoor bonsai are tropical plants adaptable to indoor conditions. Select a spot with good air circulation, but avoid cold drafts, drying heat vents, and appliances with heat exhausts. They prefer sunny areas near windows facing southeast or west. Choose a location that receives morning sun and afternoon shade. Though they grow well indoors year-round, tropical bonsai flourish outdoors on a patio or deck that receives indirect sunlight. They can withstand outdoor summer temperatures up to 100 degrees F, as well as dryer, desert climates as long as they are watered adequately. Bring bonsai indoors when night temperatures fall below 55 degrees F. Do not allow tropical bonsai to freeze.

In Japan, bonsai are traditionally displayed against a solid black, white, wood, or bamboo background, or on a stand or pot larger than the tree. Stark contrasts enhance a bonsai’s simple beauty.

Watering and Training

In fall, winter and spring, water tropical bonsai thoroughly every two or three days. In hot summer months, water daily - especially in dry, hot climates. Use a can or hose attachment that casts a soft, rain-like spray that won’t disturb the soil in the pot. Bonsai can never be allowed to dry out.

All bonsai require some degree of seasonal pruning. Regular pruning produces smaller branches and maintains the tree’s miniature size. A simple pair of pointed-nose scissors does the job. Wiring may also be used to hold branches in a desired position or location. If you’re happy with the branch placement as is, there is no real need to wire. For detailed instruction in the art of bonsai cultivation, Brussel’s Bonsai recommends purchasing a book on basic training techniques.

If you choose to wire your bonsai, make sure to use heavier gauge wire for larger branches on the bottom of the tree, and lighter gauge for smaller branches. Begin by sticking the end of the wire into the soil next to the trunk of the tree. Wrap the wire around the trunk until you come to the first branch. Continue curling the wire around the branch. Once you have come to the end of a branch, cut and remove the excess wire. The wire now allows you to bend the branch into the desired shape and location.

Soil, Fertilizer and Repotting

Bonsai trees spend years in the same soil and eventually deplete the available nutrients. Providing supplemental nutrition is essential for a healthy tree. Most water soluble and time-released fertilizers work well when used as directed.

Bonsai need to be repotted every 3 to 5 years. After receiving your tree, wait at least one growing season before repotting. Using proper bonsai soil is critical. Brussel’s bonsai soil consists of a mixture of high-fired clay particles and finely ground pine bark. The soil-free mix does not compact, allows water to drain easily, plus helps prevent the root rot that often occurs with ordinary potting soil.

It is important to pot your bonsai correctly. Prepare your container for potting by putting screen over the drain holes Run wire through the drain screen - you will need this to secure the tree in the container. Trim the root ball so it will fit in the bonsai pot. Keep in mind, cutting larger roots is better than cutting small feeder roots. Continue trimming the root ball until it will fit into the bonsai container. Be sure to place a good layer of bonsai soil on the bottom of the bonsai container.

Place the tree in the pot. Use the wire to secure the tree in the bonsai container. Twist and pull the wire with pliers to tighten. Add bonsai soil around the root ball. Use a chopstick to work the bonsai soil into the root system. Your bonsai should now be secure in its new container.

To ensure only well-established, healthy trees are shipped, Brussel's Bonsai imports its trees from nurseries in China where growers spend years training and shaping tree branches. Some bonsai defoliate (drop leaves) when their environment changes. If upon the tree's arrival some leaves have dropped or turned slightly brown that does not mean the bonsai is unhealthy. Defoliation is the natural result of being in the low-light environment of a shipping box. Whenever possible, Brussel’s Bonsai avoids using Styrofoam-popcorn packaging. In some cases, Styrofoam popcorn must be used to safely pack unusually shaped bonsai. Organic popcorn packaging made from corn starch reacts with moisture from the trees and can dissolve. When you receive your tree, place the box in a shaded area to unpack. Inspect tree for damage to branches or leaves. Water soil if dry. Place each bonsai in protected shade for at least one week before moving to a sunny location.

Question:	where is the ebook? I got my seeds today but I cant seem to find the download button
Answer:	Hey there! Since you are starting your trees from seed, it will take them quite a bit of time to grow into mature trees. You can begin maintenance pruning as early as a few months but it will be at least a year before you are able to begin structural pruning and using wiring techniques to shape your bonsai tree. With proper care and maintenance, you will be able to enjoy your bonsai trees for many, many years. Question:	How long before trees mature enough for prunig?r pruning
Answer:	Hey there! You can use either a Bonsai specific soil mix, we recommend a mix of Akadama, pumice, and lava rock in a 2:1:1 ratio, or any all-purpose soil as long as it has nutrients added. Akadama is a Japanese clay with a gritty texture that helps absorb more water while the lava rock allows more drainage. This mixture will require less watering for you since the Akadama ratio is higher. You can also use any sort of potting soil as long as it has nutrients for germination to get your seeds started and then re-pot them into the Akadama mix later on once they've sprouted and grown a few inches. Question:	What kind of potting soil should I prepare for these seeds to germinate
Answer:	Hi there! The stratification method that we've found to be the easiest is to soak all of the seeds in hot water for 16-24 hours and then plant immediately into moist, not overly wet, nutrient-rich soil. For the Delonix Regia seeds, you can either clip the rounded end of the seed or use a piece of sandpaper to sand down the rounded end prior to soaking. This will help increase the chances of germination by removing the outer layer of the seed so the sprout can emerge easily. There are a ton of different stratification methods out there, so you can also do a bit of research before planting your seeds to see what works best for you. You could even apply different methods to the seeds to see which ones yield the best results! The most important factor for successful germination is to keep the soil warm and moist during the germination periods, which will be listed on the back of each seed packet.
